Well I did say about 30 or so pages ago (cant be bothered to search back) that Eidur G would be a brilliant signing for us. he can score goals, has technique, vision, comfortable on the ball and could possibly be a similar player to Merson. Onebody who watched our FA cup semi-final will remember how he tore us apart at times and we made a huge mistake in not going after him at the end of that season IMO

I thought he was a grade a prat and was definitely anti villa. There were so many instances that Im not going to list them.

The big problem is that so many die-hards have stopped coming, first they dropped the season tickets, then they came to less and less games until finally Ellis had run the club so poorly people voted with their feet. The problem is that for many people they have found other things to do instead of coming down VP, and it will take a while before these people find the time to come down. Its not the case that Mr Learner needs to give them a reason to come down more a case of them re-discovering the passion they once had for the club again. I suspect with a good finish to the season and a little bit of activity in the summer some of those floaters will come back. it will be a gradual thing but it will happen.

Unless we offered £15 million plus. A work colleague who for reasons best known to hm supports Wolves reckons someone phoned up Tony Butler last night and said that Robbie Keane was spotted at Villa Park, did anyone else hear this or can I file it in the bin marked wind-up.

As an example of what I mean, before christmas I needed to buy a printer for a present. I knew that if I went to a shop that was an hour away, I could get it for £40 less. But because I needed it and didn't have time to go to the cheaper shop, I bought it for £40 more than it was worth in the local shop. Supply n demand. Big difference in £40 and a couple of million tho isnt there

Not quite sure what some fans are trying to say here. Should Martin just go out and sign players for the sake of it or should Mr Lerner pay way over the odds to sign players just because he is a billionaire. If we get players in they will be the right players at the right price, if we dont we wait till the summer. If we were still under Ellis our work this transfer window would be done.

He is probably going to cost £10 million, Is he really twice the player Milner is. Give me Milner any day of the week. MON will make him a better player.

Can any of you "seasoned pros" answer me a couple of questions. Is it right that control of the characters is by mouse & keyboard only, if so why in gods name was there not the option of using a Gamepad. Is playing it online so much better than on your own, because if tried hard but to be honest Im struggling to see the point.

Just curious as to why so many people are backing Lerners bid when we dont know anything about Stills consortium. If the rumours (and there are many of em) that the Saudis are involved then financially we would be minted. I know thats Lerner suppossedly said £60 million for this transfer window and £60 million for Januarys, but then what?

Im pretty sure that was just on turnover, not profits or wealth and had a lot to do with a good league cup run, good league placing and healthy amounts of fans paying to watch the team play. Im pretty sure we wont be anywhere near the top 20 next time the survey is published. Well done Doug

Ellis is managing the club from the point of view of making it attractive to prospective purchasers and not managing the club to provide success on the field.

That was / is the biggest reason I doubted the Comers Takeover, as the share price leapt when their proposed offer was leaked. We never heard about the Mirror Groups offer until Doug put it in his book. I wouldnt be suprised if and its a big if, we get taken over we wont hear about it until its done and dusted.

How is this different to his pot of gold quote from last year. When it suits him he says he knows nothing about the takeover, he isnt told. He knows Ellis wants to sell and some people have expressed their interest (despite not having the cash) Hopefully something might happen in the summer, but we need someone to meet Ellis's valuation first.

And we the fans have gone along with it. No protest marches No boycotts of games coz I support Aston Villa not Doug Ellis, when they are doing the exactl opposite. As long as fans came through the turnstyles Ellis had his mandate to stay in power.

You would have thought that this would be a pretty big story in the local press if not the nationals. And we have read nothing. Is our local press so awfull it cant do ome digging and print the truth about what is going on at VP or are they being paid not to look to close. I agree the board in its capacity is there to act in the best intrests of Aston Villa PLC not Doug Ellis. If I was looking to buy the club I wouldnt want to do anything before the end of the season as the value of the club must be shrinking on a daily basis, so we will probably have to wait untilthe summer for Doug to leave the club in one way or another.

Well the only question left to answer is which will die first "our club" or "the chairman"

Whilst not being a fan of this current takeover bid we certainly need something to happen at our club before it goes into terminal decline. Why pay £64 million for the club now when in 3 months time it might be worth much less (hopefully not tho) The only risk they run is that someone might sneek in and pinch it
