To echo the thoughts before, if Downing wants to leave and we want to sell, the bear minimum has to be £24 million, especially bearing in mind the price they have paid for Henderson and Carroll. I have to say that id Downing has suggested that he wants to leave, I would let him go but tell him that this is our price end of. I hope AM brings in players who want to play for us rather than take the mick out of us and Downing is doing this big time, bearing in mind we signed him on crutches! Could you advise when the home kit is being released, as my son's are debating whether to hold on or have what is an excellent away kit? I honestly do not believe that you are even considering HIM for our club. It also appears by the club statement that we have spoken to him or his rep as it states something like "not supported by his board". The facts without mentioning his link to the dark side. 3rd biggest net spend 3 seasons in Premiership.. 2 seasons relegated and he did have 5 months to get them out of it in his 1st season. His own fans stated that he plays dire football, a mile away from what Gerard was tying to achieve. The board mentions premiership experience Sam Alladyce, Martin Jol, Mark Hughes, even Rafa were all available and have better records. The board mentions young and ambitious, Owen Coyle, Gus Poyet. These are without the fans choice of Davie Moyes Can the board confirm that the revenue figures for 2011-12 if he is appointed have allowed for gates of 25,000, merchandise sales at an all time low ( yet another cock up as no sponsor and the away strip due out end of June)? Do the board consider that a Facebook campaign which has nearly 13,000 signed up since Sunday apposed to him joining irrelevant? What do the likes of Darren Bent and Stuart Downing think when the potential next manager is so opposed to? Why stay in a couldron? Here is the official response from the Blues ticket office to some of those asked in red 1) How many tickets have we been allocated for the final? - 31500, so a big welcome to all our new-found fans. 2) I notice that tickets go on general sale on Saturday 12th Feb, but Blues are at home against Stoke that day. Won’t that be a problem? -No, if you get here early enough you should be back home before the game starts. 3) My wife and sister are really the same person, but can we still claim three tickets? - We would have to see their stubs. 4)You’ve allowed a whole day for sales to fans who have attended all five Carling Cup games. Was that really necessary? - It is the Wednesday when we’re short-staffed in the ticket office - Ethel is at college that day learning how to change the ribbon on a typewriter. 5) The fixture list on my wall says we are playing Chelsea the day before the final. When do the tickets for that go on sale, as I’d like to make a weekend of it in London? - We don’t normally sell tickets for away league games. 6) I’d like to take my two young children to the final. For the same reason we strongly advise you keep smoke bombs and flares INSIDE your Aldi carrier bag when entering the ground. One final word of warning - Alco pops are more expensive in London, so don’t throw away all that loose change in the ground.

I think its a little out of context also, I would imagine, with due respect Championship football is very physical and quite limited in terms of technically gifted players. It will toughen him up and I believe that he is a better goalscoring prospect than the Fonz.

Hi General, was this a decision made by AVFC or Nike & what was the thought process in coming to this decision? General, I take it this means the end of this season. Could you explain what the process is in terms of securing suppliers? Do we invite companies or do the approach us? How is this then evaluated, as on the face of it, Nike have failed miserably in kit delivery every year? I say face of it, as I do not know the contractural agreement but kits arriving so late in the summer (and winter as this year), is not great.

General, if I could ask 2 questions please Could I ask when our contract with Nike is due to expire and what has been put in place to ensure we don't fall into the same issues with kit launch for next season. Bit of both, particularly think that the grief Houllier has been taking from our clubs and his defence of Villa shows that maybe he has finally got the message. I was all for Houllier's appointment when it happened. I also agree that MON had probably pushed this squad to its limits and that he fact he knew that was one of the reasons he left on a playing high. However, Houllier has failed poorly in all aspects since his appointment, team motivation, team selections, public condemnation of players, his actions at Liverpool, his comments about the fans at Man City when we were singing for his head. You can blame the injuries but looking at it properly, how many of them actually played regular under O'Neill, Petrov and Gabby? I get the feeling that even he realises that he has made the wrong decision in coming back. While I do not think it will happen, the board need to look at Spurs when they realised Ramos was wrong and took action quickly

All 4 have to take the blame plus Paul Faulkner. MON- Only interested in the MON brand, wasted millions on players, then played them out of position or not at all. Planned his departure Lerner- Man at the top, clearly his management team have not performed and therefore needs to make big decisions sooner rather than later. Needs to recruit a football person to the board eg Dennis Mortimer, Ian Taylor for example. Players- Where is the self motivation, the pride? No clear leader of men on the pitch. Results can be excepted, the way you loose can't Houllier- In 4 months, declared his love in public for Liverpool, numerous fall outs with players, no tactics, fans calling for his head and he says we're the best fans.... says it all. Faulkner- You will come and go. Like it or not, we are born Villa fans and die Villa fans, we know our club and we know that Houllier is wrong. You can spin it all you like but you need to listen to us.

General, Having read the statement by GH on the website, I have to say that I'm further insensed by the whole situation. It shows that clearly the manager and I take it the media person have not looked at boards like this to see what the issues are and trying to address them. To put them down to a "humerous" comment after such an appalling show, has wound me up more. There is no apology for his actions and have to say that in my personal opinion, he has lost a majority of fans. Only last week I was calling on everyone to give him time but his actions on Monday have totally changed my opinion. I echo my thoughts of yesterday in that he should be asked to resign. I fear that the fans have turned and its not normally a pretty sight at Villa Park.

Morning General, I've had 10 hours or so to reflect on last night, so this is no knee jerk reaction. While I would have preferred Jol or Koeman when MON left (which I felt was 2 years to late), I was a supporter of the appointment of GH, in particular that we would be likely to open the world up to some potential signings at reasonable cost to the club. However having been a season ticket holder for nearly 40 years, I can clearly see the signs that the appointment is wrong in regard to it appears that the dressing room has been lost, the clear lack of leadership, reminds me of the dark days under Turner, McNeill, Taylor (2nd time round) and O'Leary. The gutless performances of the senior players, in leading the youngsters through these games as been nothing short of a disgrace. I feel for these kids, as they have been the one's trying to hold us together. Then there is the utter contempt of the manager to MY club ASTON VILLA, I have watched this on telly / heard on radio this morning 1. A fellow poster noted that GH didn't sign an autograph at the Arsenal game, your reply was maybe occupied with something else. General, must echo the previous messages about the kit and in particular Nike's position in all this. However this is how the situation is and now the club must somehow force Nike's hand for next season (if they are still contracted to us.). I wish to start a compaign today that the 2011/12 kits be absolute replicas (minus sponsors obviously) of the European Cup winning kits. The kit is to be supplied from May 26 2011, marking a year of celebrating the 30th anniversary of winning the European Cup. What do you think general?
