  1. To be honest mate, i think Ash made his mind up a long time ago. Regardless of our manager he was off. I like to think players want to be convinced to stay, but its all about the fame, pussy juice and money these days!!
  2. On another note, I do think that despite what Dave Whelan makes out, RM has not been offered the Villa job, but Whelan wants an answer on the new contract on the table at Wigan. Him saying RM was our number one target is bullshit. How the **** would he know that. I think all candidates will be told by Villa before lunch tomorrow. I have a feeling it will be moyes. If teale is gobsmacked and going to speak to Paul Mcgrath, maybe its big fat ron!
  3. MJ - Bo Selecta - Avid Merrion..... David Moyes Chamon mother ****!
  4. That was just tweeted! Seems like even Benty is excited lol he's probably on VillaTalk now jizzing over his keyboard! or the face of amy bruce!
  5. Do you not think it was also to do with the UEFA "Financial Fair Play" policy, under which we would currently fail to meet the UEFA standards? If so, "sell to buy" needs to go on and it has to be "Buy cheaper than you sold for". I think it was to do with to many players sitting on there arse getting payed for the pleasure. I think any policy like that would be made on the basis of what was needed for AVFC and not UEFA, or FIFA. It was not as if it was an impossible task, just one MON did not want to make. When Faulkner came in, I guess it ruffled a few feathers. Its ok making the mess, but it needed to be cleaned up. I think the new boss will be given the same cash as MON, but this time, Faulkner taking more of an active role in making sure its viable and beneficial to the club, i.e why buy a cm when we already have 4 and so on. I'm not sure you understand the Financial Fair Play issue fully. Unless we drastically reduce our wages bill in relation to income, we wouldn't be able to compete in European competitions. You appear to know a lot about what is going on in Randy Lerner's mind - are you saying he also doesn't care about Europe? No, i fully understand what you are saying and the sanctions to be put in place. the point im making is i feel that even if the new sanctions were not going to be put in place, the stance with mon and selling to buy would have remained. we were in a mess i am no mind reader, but thanks for that.

  7. he is class, a good link between players and the manager and gets you playing to your ability. Hes a motivator and proven. ( we had Gmac) Chelsea players were GUTTED when RW went, they were not the same team. Assistant mangers are an important factor in any team.
  8. I think Ancelotti and AVFC could be a nice fit. Lerner operates in a way that surely CA would feel more relaxed to take on a club that wants to progress, not win titles and win the champions league (well, not just yet!) No doubt he would be given a transfer kitty and will be backed by the board. Our club really has potential to kick on again. We need a manager like this to show we mean business. I do believe the " sell to buy" policy was mainly in force to get MON to sort the mess he had made with contracts and the wage bill. Lets face it, he took us as far as he could. Now most of our excess baggage have left the club, i am hoping Randy wants to take one more stab at the top four and splash some serious spondoolies. At no other club will he get a board that sticks by you like AVFC- look at how they stood by GH over xmas.
  9. after the comments from downing, it leaves a horid taste in the mouth. I think he knew he would of burnt a lot of bridges with the fans with the comments and maybe he is forcing a move, only time will tell. As for Bent, he has a very handsome contract and I think he will be here for few years. its usually when the player has 2 years left theat they send out the vibes they want to leave, meaning with 12 months left, they get sold for risk of the selling club letting them leave for nothing. What makes me feel better is that there are better replacement out there, if ash and downing go.
  10. General, why I can admit that lady luck has deserted us on so many levels this season, i am sure the board learnt one or two things... dont we all? testing times and what not. Me saying i hope the board has learned a lesson surely did not offend, bearing in mind other direct comments and questions. On a different note can I let you know about my own and some friends experiences in buying tickets online. On two occasions I had a card posted from royal mail, stating the postage was not paid. I had to go to the sorting office and pay £1.36 and £1.12 another time - not massive amounts i know, but every penny counts! I called the villa helpline/customer services at the time, who said it could not be refunded directly, but taken off the next time i book tickets on the phone. I am not sure if it was a blip, or a regular problem, but just thought it best to point it out. On a postive the tickets arrived very quickly. And the loyalty points.., are there any plans to use these to more benefit... i.e free pen, scarf, hat etc... they just seem to rack up. I have lots of loyalty!! My other question is about the kit, as per my last post. It appears it could be with us for the end of june. Will the club release an image online of the shirts, rather than plan a catwalk type of presentation? I remember the white acorns away shirt being revealed on the website and then the home at the peace cup if i remember. Has the final design been approved for the shirt? Regards
  11. i would of thought that with ash creaming his xtra small size boxers at the prospect of going to manu, the decision on GH and the overall shit feeling we have endured this season that downing, "mr commited" would have kept it shut for a while at least. they go to the england camps and just cant keep keep stum. His words are basically that a contract was offered, he was advised to refuse it and will stay if he has too, but will be a good boy and still play to earn his £45k a week. T.W.A.T - Bye downing.
  12. Barry - kind of easiest to take... long servant at the club... but spouted the usual champions league bollocks and went to man city .. for the cash... they have qualified this season yes, but no chance of winning the damn thing. Milner... in my opinion, shit on us like he did at newcastle. they would not give him the money he wanted, so he came to AVFC. loved by the fans, a true villa type of player. but then... £££££££ came calling. Does he accept a £80,000 a week pay rise, or the £100,000 promised by citeh. Does he go from holte end hero to eastlands sub... oh yes. does he give a shit? not when he looks ar the bank balance. Young - got a shock coming to him, the arrogant arsehole. will go tits up me thinks. i started to think he was not even good enough for the villa at times, so lets see how he fairs with a "top four" team. Downing - lets us lap up his claims of being loyal, happy and here regardless of relegation, then BOOM, the clearing in the woods sprouts his head. so obviously tapped up, its obvious. liverpool i bet- champions league - no chance. Once these two are gone, plus friedel, beye, warnock, collins and ireland, i think we can concentrate on the core element of the team and build up some proper team spirit and loyalty, but it todays football world, thats hard to find. I think Bent will stick around, he has only just signed a contract. Plus i think we will replace these players with equal quality, if not better. Onwards and upwards UTV
  13. i would not say we are now a selling club, just have had players that have improved at the club, been tapped up and took the money and run. i loved milner as a player, but no doubt, he is one greedy bastard. its all about money.
  14. few weeks back and he was talking about staying, regardless of relegation or not. now all this shite. what a u turn. obviously been tapped up and let his dodgy agent deal with it. note how he says his agent said not to sign the new contract. he really aint all that to be honest, a good season in a shit team this year. he was dire the season before, playing like a right fanny! ive had enough of all these players with no loyalty. its not champions league, its for the££££££££££££ the **** will be the next gareth barry, i hope the club block any move this season and let the **** tough it out. back stabbing bastard. i bet he never trades his forex like a pro.
  15. Hi General. I have a feeling all of the issues will be sorted by midweek. Keeping GH is a MASSIVE risk, but one I will back the club with, as long as he and the board know that the current gaffer has burnt so many bridges, he has a lot to make up for. We are a fickle lot, so a good run in the league and a few cups will do pretty nice!! Seriously though, we need stability and fast. I have never known a season just gone where it was one disaster after another. I hope the board have learned from this and have a plan to ensure the new season starts fresh and full of hope. Pround History, bright furture. Please - lets not we forget this. Lets turn the lights back on!! In terms of the issues with the kit last season, is there any chance the club can scrap the usual "hollywood" fashion show and just let us see an image online and a pre order date? It would be something to look forward to, as I think we have been waiting for one thing or another for a whole season and it still aint finished with the GH health issue. Thanks for you time.
  16. I have to say that after a very testing few months as a villa fan, this has been a good day. Its about time we should some intent and this signing and the fee paid shows Randy is ready to take another stab at it. I bet holloway feels like a right clearing in the woods about his comments now (but he was born a clearing in the woods, so who knows) Maybe we should up the offer to 3.75m and Salifou to really send him into multiple orgasm mode UTV

  18. Sorry for the quick fire response General, but has someone actually asked GH what was going through his head on Monday and the umpteen times he has proclaimed his love for his ex? I didnt like deadly Doug, dont get me wrong, but he would'nt half hand out an arse kicking when needed. I am glad we have Randy by the way, please do not read that out of context. As a man in uniform for so many years Gen, surley you have HAD to give out an ass kicking. I just cannot see Gh's obsession dying down either. However, I do appreciate that you converse with us. I just wish Randy or even Paul Faulkner would do so. You reckon they would make an apperance on here one day? Regards UP THE VILLA "THIS IS VILLA" - In fact theres an idead for a banner I can make for the WBA game!
  19. General, I hope the board really do understand that this will not blow over and it will not just go back to normal. The man has not apoligised and has no "connection" to the club. He thinks he is way above AVFC and it is so bloody obvious. Any apology that comes out now is forced and put simply, damage limitation. Well General, its done. We are a bigger club than to have a man at the helm that treats the villa like a hobby. He may have charmed Paul Faulkner and reassured the board with his words and meanings and HUMOUR, but where as people say we are fickle, we know one of our own and GH is no Claret and Blue. He has had his testimonial 3-0 win at Anfield now, so he is more than happy.
  20. General, I respect that the club has recognised the issue and tried to address it, but GH really should have apoligised. Its like someone saying "Im sorry if you feel that way" which basically, is not an apology at all. '' if the comments I made in the immediate aftermath of our defeat at liverpool have been misconstructed - comments that were intended to be humorous by the way, let me put them into context..." Well, there is no IF and no MISCONSTRUCTED COMMENTS and for sure, they were NOT HUMOUROUS so there is no need for putting them into CONTEXT. Everyone else away from Villa may find it funny, but not by kind of comedy. The fact of the matter is, this is way short of an apology. the only person who made mistakes and is mistaken is GH. All that statement has done is try and paper the cracks, but in fact, points the finger back at us, as taking things out of CONTEXT. General, someone at the club needs to sort this out. The damage is done. Glue it back together, but it will never be the same.
  21. General, further to my post last night, I have had nearly 24 hours to digest the result, the performance and GH and like most, feel it is time he steps aside. This is not only because of result's, but his conduct since he has been in charge, mainly, his love of Liverpool FC. I have never come across such a scenario before, where a CURRENT manager beams over his fond memories for his beloved reds in almost every interview. This week we have G Mcallister on the AVFC website with a snap shot of him celebrating a goal in Liverpool colours. I do not give a damn about liverpool Did you hear or see Friedel & Warnock touching up the This Is Anfield sign? no, because those days have come and gone and its just down right out of order for your manager to do it and go on as if it was all a coming home party for him last night. Not my kind of party. Us Villa fans get ribbed for living in the past, but thats OUR past and not another teams. GH's behaviour in blanking the villa fans and then his comments about losing to liverpool were shocking.... SHOCKING!. If you remember, it was me who first harped up about his first few games in charge wearing a purple tie and you said you would buy him a AVFC one. It was a bit of banter at the time, but on reflection, it ishe does not give a damn about this club as he should. He shows no passion( apart from LFC), he does not talk about the Villa in this manner either and really gives out the vibe that he is doing us a favour by just being here. I think it is time to look at things as a whole and the reactions of the fans, as this spreads out further than these forums, every villa fan i know is well and trully pissed off with Houllier and even if we beat the baggies 6-0 (yeah right) then it will not paint over the cracks. He well and truly insulted us for the last time yesterday. We all make mistakes and the board need to accept they have done so here, I do not blame you/them, but the board need to take action. I think GH has put the nails in his own coffin with his behaviour. We need to stop being a nice, polite club and realise we are in the brown stuff and wield the axe. There are players that do not want to play for GH and there are now fans that dont want to watch GH in the dugout. I hope you do not think this is all because of the defeats. It is about the man at the wrong club.
  22. Hello General, I appreciate there will be a lot of knee jerk posts after tonights result, but I write this, more frustrated than angry. It does appear obvious that the players have no desire or passion and this is very worrying. We have all been told to give GH time, but looking at tonights team, are the outstanding injuries really a big miss? I just cannot see Heskey, Petrov, Sidwell and NRC setting the world alight and making us fire on all cylinders... It appears that the team is unorganised, lack communication and have not idea of how to create. You have said before that you watch the games and so does Randy, so you must have thought this too. Something is not right, it is there to see. Is it true Dunne cannot be dropped if fit to play? runmours said was in his contract? Again, I also write about GH and Liverpool, I appreciate what he did at the club, but it is just layered on to thick, to often, He really needs to let it go a little, we are Villa and tonight, seeing your gaffer walk down and touch the THIS IS ANFIELD sign was nice. It was obvious the Sky cameras were filming as he did it. I just find it disrespectful. when the camera is off, fair enough. For MON resigning when he did was bad, but I still have to give him credit for not referring to his time at his previous clubs in nearly every interview. I also miss his passion on the touchline. I know he left, I know he walked out, but deep down, we all know we struck gold when he arrived and landed in the brown stuff when he left. In a nutshell, I want GH to have the same passion about AVFC and not appear like he is doing us a favour. General, we are in trouble, all is not well and it needs to be addressed somewhere. I think that Randy is going to have to get the check book out. Not meaning to be all doom and gloom and I hope you take this as constructive.
