  1. could you be good enough to post on this site General.... there are some valid and relevant questions that some of us have raised and not just knocking the board and the usual insults etc. valid questions are missed because your reply times are now very slow and so many other posters have contributed in that time. if you have your preferences on which site you post, you should let the mods know and have this thread closed. it has been good having a means of communication with a non exec board member. but clearly, the novelty may have worn off and posters for the most part, now use it to express insults rather than opinions.
  2. I think most concrete is probaby dare I say Mirror's tweet with quote from Pardew. MirrorFootball Alan Pardew on N'Zogbia: "I am told that Charles has got an imminent move, so I don't think that will be us." Replacement for Downing? #AVFC Interesting ..it would seem that all the reports are that NUFC & SAFC didn't bother putting in bids for him. Interesting. I hadn't seen this until now but was told that Pardew was telling people that Villa had beaten them to Nzogbia so that links up to what we were told about Villa signing Nzogbia before Downing was allowed to leave. Cigar in Hand... " Just one more thing"
  3. here is the photo of my shirt i got today... please see previous post general. quality control?? http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/1941/hpim0793.jpg
  4. General. New Away shirt receive dtoday with half the G in Genting missing from logo "kitbag" are looking into it. Who the hell is in charge of the QC of the products we put out there. The print didnt come off in the post, it was packed and sent like that. A joke. if someone can tell me how to get an image onto a post, ill happily show the craftmanship.
  5. Now read it again. What came first in that... the transfer request from Downing or the bid from Liverpool? I would suggest that the quotes imply that the bid from Liverpool came in first and Downing submitted a formal transfer request once he was informed of the bid. So by a means of dedcution...surely The bid in itself however much it was......was obviously enough to tempt Villa into selling this time. Sorry if I'm doing my Miss Marple impression but wanted to make the point that the fee I think you'll find is higher than is being reported, but I would suspect both clubs would like it undisclosed. Transfer request handed in YESTERDAY. The fee is £18.5m rising to £20m by all accounts. I'd imagine Villa would put it out there if the fee was higher if that was the case, to placate the fans. i reckon its 18.5 min and the handing in transfer request saves us the LOYALTY bonus. hopethe bastard handed it in with gritted teeth. greedy ****
  6. general, i actually think we have played a blinder here, a VERY disloyal man who sums up players of this day and age. an 8m profit for 1 half seasons work - only last season being any good - yes please... it is however, CRUCIAL that the money is reinvested back into the squad and lets get these players on a 5 year contract if there age is right - 6 years if we feel they will improve and become a real asset, like spurs and modric. theres a panic button, but i aint pressing mine until mid august... lets see some quality replacements and get them through the door. i am sure we will. sell to buy... we have sold, now lets buy VTID
  7. General, Would it be possible to confirm once and for all, what the ambitions and goals are for Randy in regards to AVFC. 2011 - onwards? The previous 5 year plan as we know ended by not reaching champions league qualification that we were all dreaming of. i really do appreciate that with the great investment, added with a great manager, we gave it a real good go, but it just didnt pay off, WE WERE SO CLOSE. I have great memories from the last 4-5 years and thank Randy, MON and the players for that. AVFC were back on the map. However, it does look more like those days will not return and maybe, just maybe, Randy has stood back and realised the dream is over, well at least, in respect of champions league football. Please make no mistake, I respect what our owner has done for the club. My questions to you general are these and I hope you can answer them for me: What is the next 5 year plan for Villa? is it to hopefully finish between 7th-10th and win a cup, or have a just good cup run and qualify for the Europa? If so, I can live with that. Has the champions league dream been put to bed for good?, (for want of a better word) Does randy intend on being here for the NEXT 5 years? if so, what is the plan.. the goals, the dreams... One other thing I will praise randy on is his ability to hold out for the best possible price for our want away players. We get a very good return, but at the same time, it really needs to be invested back into the team, which I am hoping to see this summer, would be a nice boost. Ill be honest general, I think the top 4 dream died the day MON walked out. I doubt we will ever flirt with the top four teams ever again and its hurts me to say that i will go into the future supporting a middle of the road team. I did this many a year before Randy turned up, but ill still be there in the stands, singing my heart out for one of the most important things to me, (other than the wife, the kids, oxygen and beer). Its true when we say... "Villa Till I Die". Thank you for your time and I hope you and your family are well. Up the Villa
  8. Sign him up, solid player, dependable and will do a good job. Would be pleased with this bit of business. Luke Young to me is average and going forward, runs out of ideas. His pace is shocking and like petrov he has to side foot a pass shot or cross EVERYTIME Been a good servant whilst been at the club and respect he has never bad mouthed AVFC, even when frozen out by MON. We need solid full backs that do there job, DEFEND. Walker had a handful of good games, but his positioning was shit and he left too much space at the back when he went on a mission. Without a Jimmy Milner type player running up and down the pitch covering everyone, we would suffer again this season when going forward, losing the plot 10 yards from the penalty box, then losing the ball - thus leaving us WIDE open. Heres to a confident solid defence!
  9. Rather than duplicate, Can I add my vote to this suggestion.
  10. hey general, where, you, ribbing me about,my commas, in, your reply, i like it! word,up.
  11. General, These T shirts are in the club shop for general sale, in white and black.
  12. when i think of how one moment can define a players season, with SI i think of the effort against Chelsea at VP, that he just screwed wide. He scores and he is a hero, he gathers momentum, gets some form, self belief and a passion for the club. He misses, he lets his head go down, his mind drift elsewhere and becomes an irritant. Sadly it was the latter. GH splurting his bollocks to the press was never going to help. I must say, I am more looking forward to seeing how SI plays under the new gaffer. He is a confidence player. If he hits the ground running, we have a combo with bent and gabby upfront which could be special!
  13. So is there a plan to build some changing rooms at the store at Villa Park? I have asked if I can try things before and told to do it on the shop floor and got the impression we cannot just ask to go out the back. A cubicle would be good! Just a minor gripe, but if executed, would only help with the shopping experience at the store. thanks for the reply.
  14. Hi General. Are there any plans to add changing rooms to the villa village store at VP? i like to shop there as feels like im giving my support to the club directly (even if the merchandise is cheaper elsewhere). Many times have I and others not purchased an item, as we could not try it on and the last thing you want to do is go back to the store if it can be avoided, with wrong sizes, for example. With last seasons kit, which the sizes came up very small, people were getting free shirt printing and assuming a large was fine, as a large in the previous kit was spot on, but it was not the case. As it could not be changed because of the printing, the people i know of had to wear the tops very tight and whilst I took the piss every chance I got, it could have been avoided. So, in a nutshell, can we look at getting some changing rooms? Cheers
  15. right, night all. heres to another 24 hours of uproar and if to be believed, a protest for good measure! UTV
  16. HE BROUGHT THEM!!!! last few days makes me wonder if they were really his number 1 choices, or peter pans
  17. im clutching to tiny straws i know, but until there is an official "no" from Moyes, it is still possible. for all we know AM is in a batch of managers being interviewed in the next few days
  18. I must admit though, the blue noses are in bigger shit than we are. am would have got them promoted, now they looked ****. i reckon peter penis pannu will take over the role. he does everything else!!
