  1. F1 is still a recent game mate, bang it on ebay and then put the funds towards black ops when you get them that deal from game seems a bit poo. If it was me, I would still go at 12 and take the F1 game if you want, if not, buy Black ops full whack, sell the F1 game on ebay and put it against the balance. prob work out you pay £15 for BLACK OPS, thats a tenner for beer....
  2. General, Thanks for the update, I kind of already new it would be like that, but at least we know and have a choice. I appreciate that a contract is a contract and within said contract this occurance meant nike still got to make another kit. Thats just business and now its up to us to cough up or or not. Thanks for letting us know. When are you next at Villa Park anyhow? Oh and any news from the villa team about Paul Mcgrath, book signings etc
  3. Rev, dont you know ALum Rock is just a bus ride away? :winkold:
  4. Well I have gone for the pay £7.99 and trade in Medal of Honour deal. Pick it up from HMV in Sutton Coldfield tommorow. It just opened two weeks ago and no one knows its there I think. Tesco and Asda are really shit at game launches. for GTA and Fifa in the past its been 50 copies per branch and a massive que of peple who have been there since 9pm - not worth the hassle. A lot of it is to get you to visit the supermarket more than anything!. Medal of Honour whilst good, had to many arseholes sniping you when playing online and the bastards were foaming at the gash, everytime they did shoot you like a coward.... ****.... Im not bitter, of course. Just took the fun out of the game. I never plated MW2, didnt get round to it, so lets see what black ops is all about!
  5. General, do you think that in hindsight, the giving of power to MOn and the eventual taking away caused the toys to be thrown out of the pram? I still think the Milner deal was good business. He is a miss, but was never a 16m plus 8m Ireland player. Plus he wanted out, so in my opinion, not worth having. Sames goes with the manager, if you want to run a club from top to bottom, go and buy one i say. I hope GH will be given that cash to spend a bit of it across the pond.
  6. PJKAV - Fifa 11 mainly prob COD black ops when comes out cheers!
  7. I do not feel its a great thing that a manager is going to the media and calling a CURRENT player and fans favourite as "stupid and living in the past", especially given the managers time in the football game, surely he should know better. This should all be kept in house. The same manager, time after time, refers to another club in interviews, we are AVFC. "living in the past??" - this is what got on my nerves. Yes GH'S name was chanted yesterday and so was MON'S not so long ago and so is Carew's - I know GH needs time and will come good, but the harping on about the wrong stuff is not the media attention the club needs. General - the kits???? any news???????
  8. General, I too, have to agree with the above post. I am fed up with GH coming out with quotes to the media that serve no positive purpose and if anything, should be kept in house. We all knew Carew and GH did not see eye to eye at Lyon, but Gh as a manager should not be making these comments. calling him stupid and living in the past was over the mark. If anything, I still see and hear GH talking about liverpool as "we" as if he is still there. I do not remember him using the media to rant at his own playing staff whilst at Liverpool. Hopefully the board can see our points and not think it is just an attack on them.
  9. Hi General, Please can you confirm if a decision has been made to take the current kits into the 2011/12 season? I visited the villa park store and was informed that it is basically a "done deal" that the away kit will be used as a third kit next season, but due to the risk of loss of revenue, a new home and away kit will be released as planned, so this seasons kit will change in six months. I am sure that only if villa qualify for europe can they have a Third kit anyway? The last time we spoke on here you said the legal team were looking at the legal side of things, in respect of the carrying over the kits to next season. Surely, with the releases on the horizon (finally), a final decision has been made with Nike and AVFC? I think we should be told, either way. That way, at least we know where we stand. Please could you look into this general, as we have heard nothing from the club. Regards
  10. Hi General, First off, how the devil are you? did you enjoy the trip to brum town and was Mrs K a happy bunny when you got back to the states? The GH tie thing, you will notice I was the first to mention it, so did you actually buy him the tie?? I had a grin on my face when i saw the new gaffer is his dapper tie! On more pressing issues, can you confirm the shelf life of the new top? as a man of your word, the website got back to us today... BUT.... there is no mention of if the kits runs into the 2011/12 season. Can you shed anymore light on this General? and if a decision has been made? I know a lot of us are in limbo at the moment and more than likely, will not buy the kits if there being changed again in 6 months. Cheers
  11. Thanks General, thats really good to hear. we look forward to any news on this, where possible of course. I am sure it would give him a boost to be back down the villa - where he belongs!
  12. Hi General, I hope you are well and had a good weekend (and a few beers) I wish to add to the comments on Paul Mcgrath, who's nickname to us villains is GOD. I am sure you know he is a true Villa legend. I appreciate the club cannot just put there arm around someone in need, but if this guy could be provided with say, a seat m at villa park for life, or something similar. He really is one of us, it annoys me when man utd fans think he was at his peak there (wrong) I have an idea and I hope you can give it consideration, at least from the AVFC side of things. Is there any chance you can get Paul down to Villa Village in the near future? it was a shame he was not there to sign the recent villa history book. For example, can he be asked to come down to the villa when the new shirts come out? trust me general, even if them kits were out for 2 weeks, no one would miss out on seeing ooh ahh Paul Mcgrath and so, getting a photo and signature. It would be a massive coup for AVFC and for us fans too, so everyones a winner. He has a dvd out that he is promoting, so this could be a good bit of publicity for him too. For example, BUY a kit and dvd and get it signed (or an old shirt to sign - but a new shirt purchased) by Paul Mcgrath himself. I understand it has to work both ways and he would need to come, even if offered. but this would be a top event and good for the club, the fans and the great man himself.
  13. Will you adopt a sell to buy policy? - joke. Actually General, has Randy got an AVFC tattoo, as reported in the media? And do you reckon he would ever come on here to say a few words sometime? Anyhow, thanks for the reply General, look forward to hearing some news soon.
  14. Hi General I hope all is well and your not a golfing man! Jokes aside, can you shed any more light on: 1) The exact date in November the kits will be ready for sale - i know you are looking into this, so just a chaser! 2) can both kits be released on the same date? bearing in mind the delays? 3) Has a decision been made between AVFC and Nike regarding this seasons kit following on into the 2011/12 season? I am thinking of buying the kits for myself and my kids for christmas, but will more than likely resist tempation if the lits only have a 6 month shelf life. and finally.... 4) Can someone get GH a villa tie please General. Maybe an AVFC tattoo across his heart too - the latter is a joke. but a Claret and Blue tie would be a nice touch. Look forward to hearing from you General.
  15. Hello General, good to see you back. I must add to my dissapointment about the shirt delays, Nike have really shafted us with this one. This is not an attack on the club or the board, but do you share our frustrations over the years with Nike?. There are an "eye candy" sponser and I was pleased we finally had a decent supplier, especially after Diadora and Hummel. However, they just have not delivered the goods over the years and to be fair, the designs of the kits have been almost indentical and very plain. What i mean is that there are some nice "touches" to some of the other kits supplied by nike, but ours have been the same old, same old. Do you think the club will extend the deal with Nike? if they do, I would be happy, but would it be possible for the fans to have a bigger say in the design like some clubs?,.Say.... vote on five designs on the website, for example. Last years kit was almost identical to the year before that, which got a few grumbling about lack of thought by Nike, other than £££. As the kit has now been delayed further, hence the "sell by date" is 6 months away, can Nike/Avfc offer the product on a face value for that period - i.e £30?. I can just see this costing the club £££ on shirt sales as the shelf life of the tops will be over before we know it ( and a lot of fans are 50/50 about the design anyhow) I appreciate its a sticky situation for the board, but surely someone needs to be made accountable somwhere. (there is no way i could see this happening with Nike and Man Utd) P.s - Mr H - Top appointment - well done all concerned. General - Up the Villa... ( I cant hear you!....)
  16. Thanks for the reply General. I for one, have had a go and you have been fair to do the same back, so i would not worry about offending people, we are all grown ups and its nice to know your only human, like the rest of us. I have no issues in that no players are coming in before the window closes. A new manager is needed, first and foremost. Not to mention individual players, but I have seen from the last few games that some of our "squad" players are no where near the level required, so although the ex gaffer kept them on the bench (probabley knowing as much), steps should have been made to ship them out. After all, you cannot just buy buy buy, without a little bit of recompense, which is why i applaud the milner deal. he wanted to go and although he is a massive loss, i want to support a squad that have their hearts at AVFC, not ££££, which is of course, harder to find in todays world. It is good to just hear a progress report regarding the manager situation, chinese wispers fly like wild fire, add a few terrible performances on the pitch and all of a sudden, we start to press the panic button and think the matter has stood still. I think change is good and i understand the timing of the situation has been rubbish, but i am glad its at the start of a season, rather than at Christmas. Have a good flight on Sunday. Up the Villa
  17. General. Thank you for your reply, respect where it is due. I do not agree with some of the fans views and a lot of it has come from the raw feeling of what was a piss poor performance on sunday. no, two games do not make a season, but at least after the WHU game, it gave a lot of people hope and relief. I do blame MON for the predicament, the timing was a terrible and selfish, in my opinion. I love hearing that you love AVFC and its in your blood, music to my ears. Most of us just seem to worry that the club is going to stand still and even worse, tilt backwards. I do think it was time for a new manager, just maybe too late in the day. Like i said in my last post, i will be happy to sit and wait, knowing that we have the right man/men for the job. I for one, will not attack individuals at board level, as i do not know what they do/dont do. What has made me feel better is recalling the old doug ellis years --- they were...shit.... and the club has improved ten fold, no doubt. i just think the game on sunday made us fear for the worst. General - are you thinking of getting an AVFC tattoo? i hear randy has one, is that right? one more thing, are u based here in the UK?
  18. General, I hope you can understand that you, Randy, the board and the majority of the players wont be hurting like us, the supporters. Villa is in our blood, we love our club dearly and our weekends are dependent on how our team do. Everyone of us have a spring in our step, if we play well and get a result. we do not expect a win everyweek, but an ass kicking is another thing. After today, its us picking up ourselves from a terrible performance. After the Chelsea score, a lot of us thought " freak result" and hoped such an embarresment would not return. Today, well... feels even worse. So when you say you feel the same as us, a lot of us earn enough to make ends meat, feed the family, insure the car, where as I am sure the players, and how they SHOULD be dissapointed, at least have a fat cheque at the end of the week, that much of us wont earn in a year. To feel our pain, you need to truly be claret and blue blood. Villa is not a business to us, its a way of life. I just feel the "mission statements" are not going to pep us up. we need to bounce back, we need the board to "bust a gut" to get the right man, as after all this waiting and taking our time, I am happy to do so, but hope we will have a manager we deserve that will help us push on, bearing in mind the " no rush" policy. And do you ever pass our feedback onto Randy? General - Up the Villa !
  19. General, After today and even the past week, there IS an urgency for a new manager, but the board seem to think the opposite. The club needs stability right now, our gaffer of fours yours has walked out, along with milner, one of our best players, yet we have to remain optomistic?? The club need a new manager in ASAP, KMac does not want the job, bearing in mind all his hesitancy to commit. I am sorry, but anyone in his role would pee themselves to get the chance, yet it seems like we are clinging to his word, in that he might be considered. We are Aston Villa, not Small Heath and we should be aiming high "Proud History, Bright Future" -- has this been forgotten??, because it has been dark and cloudy for a while now and a win against a very poor WHU team did nothing but give us another week to get the right man in for the job. The club got a nice peice of that pie from the milner sale and MON walking meant no compo for him, so dig deep, pay a compensation package and get us a top man for the job. At the moment being a villa fan is like being on a number 11 bus, takes you were you want to go, but takes too long to get there.
  20. Hi General, As a new member on here, please let me say thanks for your direct communication with us, its a nice touch. I write regarding James Milner, as I am sure most of fans have been thinking the last few days " will he stay now?". Has the stance changed regarding this situation since the game, or basically, is his mind made up? I know it is a difficult question to answer, but knowing we have tried tooth and nail and he wants to go, makes it an easier pill to swallow. I couldnt help that think MON coming out with his comments about milly, opened a can of worms, when possibly, things were still under consideration. I for one hope he stays, i fully admire him for his actions and performance yesterday, surely the captain armband awaits! Thanks General, I would really appreciate a reply. Up the Villa!
