  1. You might be able to argue this, but we have no clue what the Board's list for potential replacements looks like.
  2. We could get him on a free, and he's a good manager. Better than keeping Houllier. Why not go for someone better? Yeah, for me its either Houllier stays on or we make a fairly ambitious move for manager. Going for the convenient choice does nothing substantial for us. I don't care if he can be had for free because him and his football would bore me to death and we can do better. I mean hey, Curbs can be had for free, lets do it! :drowsy:
  3. Please no. I really hope this is rubbish.
  4. Greetings General, First off great result over the weekend! Secondly, I wanted to purchase a season ticket for the upcoming season, but the pricing structure has presented a major issue. For the tickets, Students cost 80 pound more than the Young Adult tickets. Being a student who has just turned 22, I will have to fork over quite a bit more money if I want season tickets and being a student and all I do not think I could even afford that rise. I really think that for ticket prices, students and young adults should be grouped together and it would help bring in more students to Villa Park who realistically could not afford it otherwise. Cheers General
  5. Gerard with Ray Wilkins as his new #2.... If not VILLAS BOAS!!
  6. Your wife thinks he's fit? Isn't he the one who looks like Phil Brown? I don't know much about him as a manager, don't really follow Spanish football too closely but considering I know of your connections to spanish football/footballers I like to think you know what you're on about. Care to go into more detail about why you don't rate him YIM? I follow a good bit of the Spanish and Portuguese leagues and Idk about this Flores fellow. He did win the Europa league with Atletico but aside from that I think they have underachieved with him abit. I mean looking at La Liga table, outside of the top 8, the most anybody is clear of relegation is 7 points, and Atletico sits in just 7th with what I think is a pretty talented squad. People look at our squad and say we massively underachieve right now...I see the same thing with Flores at Atletico. Over the years his team seems to do worse and worse in the league. If I was going for a Spanish/Portuguese manager, it would have to be the Porto boss for sure. We will never go for him but Villas Boas would bring the breath of fresh air and positivity we need around here.
  7. 1. André Villas Boas 2. André Villas Boas 3. André Villas Boas Young, exciting, and has been in the game since he was 16 and speaks English. Oh yeah, and his side has not lost a match in the domestic league this year and will win the Europa League. This guy is gonna be huge and I want him at Villa. Having said all that now, prolly not a feckin chance we even go near him because we dont have the balls for it.

  9. Greetings General. Not trying to bombard you with more kit questions; however, on the JJB website they have a villa kit for preorder, and I was wondering if this kit was legitimate. It still has fx pro as the sponsor, but a new design. Here is the link for the kit: http://tinyurl.com/3f38u3s Would be surprised if they had our kit before the club were to unveil it, so my assumption is this is just some sort of mistake?? Thanks General!
  10. Avram Grant has a touchline ban for this match as well, I think he is a decent manager, so that could possibly help us tbh.
  11. If Nolan and Tiote are suspended, that leaves me well pleased. The key changes we have to make for this are getting Carlos in for Collins. Dunne looked decent against everton and like so many times this season, people might have thought he was poor just because he is left trying to make up for Collins' mistakes in the back. Granted, Dunne hasn't been anywhere near amazing, but him and Carlos should do well together and leave pretty solid in the back. I think its fair to say Luke Young did fairly well, so keeping him at left back will do well enough. In terms of up top, I would personally go with Heskey, first because he can give us good defensive cover and set pieces and because he could be great for bent up top. He could win all the balls in the air, take pressure off of darren and create more space for him to roam in. In terms of who pairs Reo Coker in the middle, I would say go with Makoun, but at any point either late in the first or early second if he starts making silly tackles sub Petrov.Delph right on. THats the one mistake we mde against everton was not subbing Makoun off when it was clearly begging for it. So i'd go: Friedel Walker Cuellar Dunne L.Young Downing Reo-Coker Makoun Young Heskey Bent
  12. Agreed. As long as he stays away from our team, then this deal is worth it.
  13. Too right!! Makoun was not spectaculour yesterday, but he got himself around the pitch, and passed it well. It must be really difficult adjusting to quicker league, and in a team that is fighting for its life at the wrong end of table. All in all, i thought he did ok. This.
  14. Was a bit shocked Bradley was not even on bench yesterday tbh....played quite well on the international break for USA and even put in a pretty good shift against a tough Argentina, considering his only play lately was as a late sub in Blackpool and the Man City cup tie
  15. Aye, when we bought him for 5 million, I expected him to be world class from the start...
  16. I would in no way say he was awful today, still made quite a few good passes and his composure on the ball is definitely something that is great and can only get better as he acclimates himself with the league. He definitely got poorer as the second half went on and I was hoping for Stan to get subbed on to provide a more defensive presence for the last 20 mins or so. But oh well, but I think we havent seen his best yet. The Man Utd performance showed exactly what he is made of and I expect we will soon see more of that.
  17. Bickster is going to come in and beat our arses for turning this into a Gary Cahill thread, oh dear, haha. :|
  18. Again just want to point out, as maligned as Zat Knight may have been throughout his career he did a more than capable job for us. Ill say I rated Zat more than Curtis, but still wasn't the best, I think he was surely helped by playing alongside Laursen alot of times...but i guess thats the past and purely irrelevant now seeing as neither Knight or Cahill or on the Villa books...
  19. How bout we not call him young or old, lets just say he is entering his prime? Deal?
  20. All Im going to say is him and Ciaran playing together would be brilliant....on a side note, the fact that Cahill played half the season alongside Zat Knight and they were top 6/7 says a lot to me about his quality, just saying
  21. My experiences with Stoke, throw them into the argument as well I think....but yes, Everton are truly notorious for this, and the whole screaming when a player of theirs comes anywhere within the vicinity of ours....oh, bloody scousers...
  22. So is there any chance of it showing before the Newcastle match? Thanks General!
