  1. I never wanted Houllier to leave and was quite sad to see him gone (I was at least hoping he could stay as a DOF). The past few days have been shambolic and in many peoples eyes, even if Randy does not hire Eck, then he has alot to repay to Villa supporters and much more explaining to do. On the other hand, some people are in no position what so ever to complain. Everyone had issues with McClaren, Martinez, Benitez, even Hughes; however, now all of those would be dream appointments to most of us. It kind of puts things in perspective and shows us to be a little more open and accepting (not saying we should accept Eck, everyone has every right to not want him.) At this point Randy really needs to wise up, bring more football people into his operations, and finally invest heavily in the squad this summer, or he will risk a highly fractured and disallusioned fan base which may eventually force him out of the club. I pray for AVFC over these next few days and hold out hope Randy pulls an ace out of his sleeve and not a **** Joker (ex: McLeish).
  2. Get a grip people. We have not officialy hired a manager yet and while it is very frightening to some that we may hire Big Eck, we need to stay calm. Surely there are quite a few others in frame for the job that we just know nothing about at this point. We all know one thing for sure AVFC keeps things sealed tight from within. So to all those already chanting Lerner out and talking of not renewing ST's, all your doing is giving ammunition to the press to label our great club as shambolic and cheers for that. Neil Moxley thanks you.
  3. I really feel we are out there for a big name experienced candidate (that has not been relegated) and when Randy pulls out the wildcard, the entirity of the press can get to ****.
  4. What is with the .H ....am i just daft?
  5. Stop! Mourinho time! .....Only kidding, but definitely excited for tomrrow if that is truly when we reveal!
  6. At this point everybody is talking shite about who will be the next manager, so I am content with waiting and hoping for the best. The only thing I know for sure is I want KMac to get a role on the new first team coaching staff. In my opinion it is an abomination that we had GMac as assistant instead of KMac this past year (although who knows he could have been offered it and turned it down). In addition, get Laursen in to sort our defense out please!
  7. But if he knew more why would he not write it...Journalists want to sell papers and he knew something good what reasons would there be not to publish it? To keep a good relationship with the club which will enable the paper to post far more in the future rather then risk everything on one article. Fair enough I suppose. A few days ago him and Abraham were all over the Ancelotti stories, but after the Italian interview came out they have been extremely quiet, which makes me think that maybe we are in talks with CA and they know and are keeping it quiet. Very wisful thinknig though, but hell, who **** knows anymore.

  9. I read this and just called bollocks because what club will he be able to get Champs League at that will be hiring.... Marseille= Do not think so Bayern Munich= very very highly doubt it Don't think it is over quite yet with us and Carlo...Id put my money on him or Jol atm
  10. I do not know how much I would read into the Sky Italia news feed that people are translating into Ancelotti refusing us. While that can be one of the translations...another can be that rifiutato means deny as well in Italian. Feel free to challenge that if your a fluent speaker of the language. Either way, I do not think Ancelotti has turned us down just yet.
  11. But take a look...Ancelotti is out of a job at the moment so we are having this debate. How do you know that Ancelotti would come anyway he may of turned us down, we don't know, whoever in charge we need to back him look what happens at times when we did not support the team last season No matter who is manager, there will be nay sayers. Thing is we still have not officially named a manager, so ofr the time being people can debate between Ancelotti, Hughes, Moyes, etc etc. all they want. The only problem I see is people attacking the board before any real appointment has been made.

  13. So if it is Hughes, it won't happen for a while yet. Aye, good spot Gareth, this alone makes me feel more comfortable it ain't Hughes, or so I pray
  14. Im am holding up on all this frenzy....Hughes is Welsh....Cardiff City has an opening...all so clear
  15. We don't want Hughes, we don't want Hughes....he is going to QPR
  16. Would love for us to get Ancelotti in and then try and get some outside investment. Having said this I do ont think this is the way Randy rolls, seems like he prefers full ownership of his assets, but who knows. Would be immense.
  17. I continue to pray we get Ancelotti...he has said he wouldn't mind staying in England and Randy and the board could hopefully shut those saying they have done **** all for the club up. The main hurdle here for me is the salary he would demand along with his staff. But hell, invest your money wisely and it pays off, look at Bent . C'mon Randy do it, DO IT, sign Ancelotti up!
  18. And did the club ever say an announcement would come by today. Don't recall that tbh.
  19. Ancelotti would really excite me and he could bring Ray Wilkins with him which would be great too. The massive problem here is the wages for Ancelotti becuase I think his Chelsea contract was somewhere in the region of 5-8mill a year IIRC. I would also take a punt on Klinsmann becuase he plays some very attractive football, but as far as IU am aware he is now working as a consultant with Toronto FC in the MLS. However, I wouldnt see that as too much of a stumbling block.
  20. And your shocked, this is a board that took the best part of 2 months to hire a manager that had been out of management for about 4 years, and also hada very dodgy ticker, to me this just shows that they have learnt nothing from last year and continue to make the same basic mistakes. i posted this in jest earlier but am starting to think this is what they are following to the letter. FFS the season ended just under two weeks ago lads. I understand everybody is very anxious over the managerial situation given that a vast majority were displeased with Houllier and think we will make the exact same mistakes again. However, we are in a completely different boat now because we are not sitting without a manager a few days before the start of the season. They will get a new manager in soon enough and he will be given the funds he needs to strengthen our side (as long as it is not Hughes :winkold: )
  21. Definite no to Hughes. Even more so if it meant keeping Warnock and Ireland around any longer, I think its safe to say most of us want nothing to do with those clearings in the woods these days. And did Hughes not sell Dunne off at City?
  22. You might be able to argue this, but we have no clue what the Board's list for potential replacements looks like. Haha probably
  23. Last time was a bit different though considering the season had basically began and there was no time for a new manager to go into the transfer market and all though. I would like to think the Board will not drop the ball and is already down to business on this issue and from what I hear it looks like we will know the result as soon as the court case with MON is decided.
