I'm all for Martinez. The idea of OGS was very exciting, and this one is too. Even though theres been a bit of a ant-climax for a lot of us after the whole OGS saga. I got some concerns on how he'll clear out or deal with the deadwood, and how we'll look defensively. But just the fact that we'll be able to enjoy watching Aston Villa play football again is such a warming thought and would make up for conceding a few more goals a season. And if what people are saying about Rodgers reaping Martinez work at Swansea is true. He truly is a man that can build for the future. He also seem like a very honorable man, doubt he'll leave 5 days before kickoff. Bring him in.

Just dreamt that Moyes took over at Villa and Rodgers replaced him in Everton. Go place your bets!

No, he didn`t want to up root his family. That`s clear, because he told us. However, as our Norwegian friend has already told us, he has had offers from PL clubs previously and so must had already had the family conversation. I believe he is using that as an excuse as he didn't like what he heard. If Man U managers job came knocking, do you think he would turn the opportunity down? I don't. I'm sorry, but I don't get your reasoning here. Correct me if I'm wrong but you think: Say Blackburn approach OGS, he says thanks but no thanks. You assume he then goes back home to his family and say: Listen guys, today I turned down a English club that I wasn't interested in managing at all therefore we should have a talk about moving to England? All right, no one wants to move. OGS then get approach by Aston Villa and says: Damn that sounds interesting, sure I'll fly down for a chat, since my family don't want to move in the first place, then I'll say I want the job, wait a week, then tell them I'll be staying at Molde FK because of the family, when in truth I did not like their offer even though I've gotten no offer yet. Don't you think he had this talk with his family when there actually was a great possibility they would be moving? Or do you think he goes around telling his children they'll be moving every time a foreign club comes knocking on the door even though he's not interested in managing them in the first place? I personally would not as a father have a discussion about moving with my 8-10 years old children if there wasn't a 99% chance of it happening unless they themselves did not want to move.

Just a final point on the OGS Norwegian saga.... What I find bizarre about all the goings on with OGS is he is quoted as stating that he wanted to bring both his English coaches AND MoldeFK's star player to Villa.... which obviously would have meant THEM moving their families etc over to England. And I'm sure OGS must have at least discussed this with them all before making it public. So it's just bizarre that HE pulls out because he doesn't want to move his family all of a sudden??! You would have thought OGS would have given THAT serious consideration before publically coming out with statements involving other people etc. Rokke & his business partner must have applied the screws and threatened all sorts over MoldeFK.. IMHO... the family thing is just an excuse. Those quotes, the three answers to the three questions. Was something that was answered during a "confidential" conversation between an employee and an employer. The "CEO" of MFK decided to leak that information to the press after Aker ASA pulled out as MFK investors. The questions were three hypothetical questions that got asked before he went to Birmingham to have a chat with AVFC. So there is no great conspiracy here.

Apparently the owner of Molde FK is really buthurt about OGS talking with Villa. Read something about him withdrawing economical support to the club etc. So I do imagine they are going to be though on the negotiations.
