  1. McLeish because he's beyond shit. He shouldn't be in this job. And who gave this beyond shit manager a job? That doesn't excuse McLeish from blame. And Mcleish does not excuse Lerner for blame for events of the last 18 months which have brought us to this point. Spot on. McLeish has been here for 6 months. We have been heading down shit creak for the last 18 months.
  2. I'm all for getting rid of McLeish but what then. I genuinely thought they couldn't do any worse than an over the hill, out of touch, disrespectful, chequebook manager in Houllier. Well it seems they may of done. Could we really trust Randy and Faulkner a third time? Like I said the organ grinder needs to **** off along with the monkey.
  3. There has been no point where Randy Lerner has sought publicity, nor platitudes. He has always been quiet to the point of reclusiveness. I can't recall him hiding away either. And of course, the fans who are 'demanding answers' may only be demanding that the club tell them what they want to hear, whatever that may be. What is very apparent is that he regularly attended games for his first 4 years as owner when things were continually on the up. Over the last 18 months during which time things have gone tits up he attended I believe around 10 games last season and has attended less than a handful this season. Of course this could all just be coincidental and him attending less and less has just coincided with us serving up crap. On the home front crap was being served up when he was attending regularly. The last few days have so typified the Villa during Mr.Lerner's tenure. An exhilarating smash and grab victory away at a fancied side, followed by a turgid defeat at home against a team that we would expect to roll over. Football at VP during the entire reign of Mr.Lerner has been bloody awful. Well lets put it this way then he was attending regularly when we had season on season improvement during his first 4 years, finishing top 6 three times on the spin for the first time since the 1930's, achieving our highest points total in a 38 game Premiership season and going to Wembley twice. Since then over the last 18 months as we have gone backwards and its all gone tits up he has attended less and less to the point where this season he has apparently attended twice.
  4. Who would the protests be against exactly? McLeish? he is just the monkey its the organ grinder who the real problems lie with. He has shown twice that he is clueless when it comes to managerial appointments. The monkey and the organ grinder need to **** off.

  6. The reaction at full time wasn't that bad surprisingly. I even saw a few pratts clapping I think in protest at those booing. He is getting an easy ride really especially compared to the abuse Houllier got away at Man City and at home to Spurs, Sunderland and Wolves which was the worst I'd seen in 30 years.
  7. In all fairness what the General knows about football you could write on the back of a stamp. It has also become increasingly apparent over the last 18 months that the same applies to Lerner and Faulkner. McLeish deserves all the stick he is getting but the problems are much deeper. The most important appointment an owner and CEO have to make is that of manager. They have shown they can't make a decent appointment and I wouldn't be in anyway confident that they will be third time lucky.
  8. We finished that season with our highest ever points total in a 38 team Premiership, our third successive top 6 finish and two trips to Wembley. You seriously think by giving McLeish a chance he'll achieve the same? for me he won't get anywhere near.
  9. Just back from VP. Have to say that one of the most surprising things is that McLeish is still pretty much getting a free pass. There was the don't know what your doing when Ireland came off but at full time amongst the 10k or so that were left it was a mixed reaction with some strangely even applauding. I'm getting the impression that fans standards have just dropped completely and mid table crap is acceptable. Houllier got dogs abuse last season at Man City and at home to Spurs, Sunderland and the worse abuse I've ever seen at full time against Wolves. Now obviously we were deep in relegation mire then and the drop from the previous seasons was drastic but that shouldn't make the tripe often being served up now any more palatable. There is a real lethargy around the club from the chairman, management, players and the supporters and I include myself in that. Its a culmination of the tripe served up over the last 18 months and its sad to see. Aston Villa deserves far better and we as fans should be demanding it. If we don't then nobody else will.

  11. Can't believe what I just witnessed. I've seen players crumble before but not one of the top 3 players in the world. Fair play to Lewis though he played some cracking darts after going 5-1 down. I can Lewis winning the final by 3 or 4 sets. Hamilton just seems happy to have made the final.
  12. Fair play to Whitlock very gracious in defeat. Hamilton wants to remember he has a final to play as he seems just over the moon to have made the final. He still has work to do.
  13. Real classic. Great win for Hamilton. Now for Wade against Lewis.
  14. A certain amount of realism needs to be seen as well though doesn't it. Reo Coker was brought in when he was on the rise, recent Under 21 Captain and I'd imagine put on 35 - 40k a week. Had he done enough over the 4 years to justify those wages? debatable. He certainly wasn't and hadn't been for some time a guaranteed starter. I wasn't surprised that he was offered less money. It was to be expected especially given the overall wage reduction we are currently under taking. Is he on more at Bolton? if he is then is the few k a week more worth more than playing for a bigger club. I guess Nigel decided it was.
  15. He could have stayed couldn't he? but instead was blinded by and attracted to the bright lights of Madrid, Turin oh and of course........... Bolton. It was sadly inevitable that having decided to leave Aston Villa he was always going to take a step down and end up at a lesser club. It seems the only person that didn't realise that was Nigel and perhaps his equally delusional agent.
  16. I'm with Zatman. I think a win away at Chelsea is a bigger achievement than beating Man City at home. It should also be remembered we deserved to beat Chelsea and played really well. Whilst for me Sunderland deserved a point for the fact they gave their all and really battled they most certainly didn't deserve to win.
  17. Who mentioned Houllier touching the sign? I wasn't even aware until I got back from Anfield that night that he had even done that. It was his disrespectful behaviour in front of me and the rest of our fantastic supporters of this great club that pissed us off. Anyway as others have said thank **** he is gone and we don't have to put up with any more of his gutless tripe and disrespectful, embarrassing behaviour. We were starting to head in the right direction. Were we? we had an upturn at the end of the season under Macallister but our last 6 games under Houllier consisted of 2 wins, 1 draw and 3 defeats. Houllier has always been a cheque book manager. He proved that last January when he had to spend the best part of 30 mill to get us out of the deep shit he got us in to. I dread to think where we'd be now given he would have had a transfer budget of minus 20 million to spend over the summer. It doesn't bare thinking about actually and thankfully we haven't had to witness it. Given what Gabby, arguably alongside Petrov our best player this season, said over the summer it also seems likely he would of been off. We'd have been in deep ship.

As for McLeish lets hope this recent up turn continues then we can all be happy. Well most of us.
  19. He mentioned the 'gutless crap' performance. Thank you. I think I also described it as gutless tripe in other posts.
  20. That is a really tight offside and you can easily see why play was allowed to go on. Certainly be harsh to criticize the linesman. I'm sure Man City have had more than their fair share of decisions go their way this season.
  21. You weren't wrong. Shame O'Neill's back in management, because I can see this Sunderland love-in on VT getting annoying very fast. You need to let it go boys. I think O'Neill will have relative success at Sunderland and that for them will be a top 8 finish next season. Your dislike for him though will mean it hurts every time they get a good result. He is an irrelevance now. I personally can't stand Houllier but couldn't give two monkeys **** what he is up to now although I wouldn't wish him on a number of clubs fans that I know and have time for. I'm glad they won today. **** all to do with O'Neill though. I'd just rather not see Man City win the league.
  22. Don't they have loads of injuries leaving him with little choice? Thought Gardner had a very good game at RB.
  23. When AM touches the SHA sign, then after losing claps their fans, ignoring ours, then and only then will Houlllier's disrespect for our fans pale into my memory. Whole lot of differences. Anyway, what he did at Anfield was wrong . Well thats putting it mildly isn't it. 1800 of us at Anfield on a freezing cold night being served up gutless crap but still out sung Houlliers beloved kop. How did that disrespectful clown repay us - by completely ignoring us and lording it in front of the kop at full time. We have some of the best away supporters in the country and those fans and this great club deserved far, far better. It was easily the most disrespectful act I have witnessed in my 30 years following this great club and wasn't and isn't something to just be forgotten. We have earned the right to not be treated like that. As Bickster said he also didn't actually apologise.
  24. Couldn't give a **** about Sunderland but always a pleasure to see Man City lose. All be it a rare pleasure.
  25. **** Man City they had a great opportunity today given yesterdays results and **** it up.
