Felix on loan would be doable if he wanted to come we'd only pay half his wages so £125,000  a week Madrid would pick up the rest, I'm sure Chelsea only paid £100,000 a week towards his wages. I know we haven't seen the best of Felix at Chelsea but there is a player in there, the way he glides round the pitch with ball glued to his feet at times 👌 Felix behind Watkins would be 😍 I'm sure Emery would get the best out of him.

He clearly a player and probably comparisons with Coutinho before he exploded at Liverpool are fair.

Hes worth a punt at a value that suits us not what he may become.

Come on Andy. Make us believe again.

I’ve bet on him to win at 33-1. This game has given me belief.

Tisipas has a moster of a forehand and Murray survived that barrage and figured it out. Shame it was on late he looked like he’d broken him.

Wonder if that momentum can carry into tomorrow and if that late injury will cause any problems.

Rishi Sunak doesn’t strike me as the kind of person that would subscribe to what is going on in the home office. Is he powerless to change their attitudes? Is it a fight he’s not willing to get involved with?

I think Sunak probably isnt a horrible person but he has money so his ability to recognise the issues of others isnt there. He looks afte his money and the money of other big boys.

The rest of them are absolutely fighting for power, Sunak either cant see it or doesnt want to get involved as he is weak. I think its probably both. Braverman definately wants to be PM and no doubt sees this stance as a tick on the CV.

The rest of them seem to be caught up in rhetoric, theyve either been caught up in it or chosen to jump on the bandwagon. Leading to some horrible comments, policies, actions, behaviour in the view of this is for the people. Its easy to see how horrible regimes of the past have gone down the rabbit hole willingly or not. edit: and some of them are just words removed.

    Get this lot **** gone.

  4. Is there a Villa Talk Chess group on an app somewhere?

I play every so often against mates and people around who might play. Only get beaten by one mate who plays alot and in turn Im the only one to beat him in 10 years or so.

Im far worse on the apps than on a board for some reason.

  5. It was January if she fell in the water would be freezing.

They say to relax if you fall in cold water as the first thing you do is take involuntary deep breaths. Even a cold shower makes you do it . potentially taking in water causing more panic and then drowning.

Leaving the phone is the dodgy bit.

Is he ? His stats dont show that

I do agree that Buendia is a better footballer as in he’s better spotting a pass, effectiveness Bailey should be because of where he plays.

Bailey probably is more effective but both are erratic. I think it’s why Goncalves and Williams seemed to be our top targets, immediate replacements for both.

  7. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt in that Emi Martinez is that good we shouldnt expect him to be anywhere near as the 2nd choice, but hes **** shit

  8. I reckon if you were to ask most non Villa fans would they take Mitoma or Grealish they would say Mitoma at the moment. Hes not being the exciting player he was at Villa.

Pep demands certain things from players and Grealish is now doing what hes told, its what Southgate uses as his excuse. Hes a better team player than he was but hes lost so much due to it and I think the teams he plays for have lost so much because of it. Amazing to say when his team just won the treble.

On his celebrations, by all means get smashed but I think hes making a fool of himself.

I have a bad feeling about this and I'm not quite sure why. I'm hoping I'm being silly.

I see it more as strategic split to specialise and focus on the footballing side and business side separately.

I always enjoyed hearing Purslow speak and I think he’s done a great job. Although I could never ignore he was a bit slimey and no doubt cut throat/false as you have to be in those positions.

I see it as a bold step taken by our highly successful experienced business operators of chairmen.

Thanks Christian, good luck in the next role.

  10. For our first signing of the window this is a statement. He’s a top quality footballer.

I think this is a great bit of business but I do have my concerns.

He did look like he’d given up for Leicester and played a lot of games for someone who is 26.

Genuinely think this is right, but misjudged as most people saw Coutinho as washed up by then.

Most Villa fans I know didnt want him signed full time. He had some good games on loan but looked an absolute showder of himself physically. He was an expensive punt by Gerrard.

The greatest thing now is we wont be taking punts on players hoping it comes off, we may sign people that are expensive but Emery wont allow passengers in hope. Letting Young go is massive show of where Emery is at.

For some of the above Pau Torres isnt that marquee signing however highly rated he is, it would be an attacker, could be Williams, could be Goncalves for the Premier League it would be Maddison.

If these players put in good performances instead of playing crap, they'll be no moaning.

I can accept this point of view to be fair.

Buendias problem is he’s so close to being consistently good. His movement in the spaces is great then his passing let’s him down, so he gets the ball a lot which highlights him when he’s poor.

Bailey on the other hand looks like he’s never played professional football sometimes.

In my opinion, for years we had our own Daniel Levy as chairman, with the same arrogance and skin like a rhino (metaphorically).

Except Levy couldn't do a bicycle kick for sh*t.

    Probably.

Levy had taken a team from perineal bottom 10 to constant top 6 and actually fault regular top 4 with the best stadium in the world. Their hatred of him is so unjustified its delightful.

  14. Biden running until he’s 86 is absolutely nuts, if he seemed to have all his senses/able to talk then fine but he’s clearly too old to do it.

A sad indictment of the American system that there is no one available and capable of putting up an opposition.

  15. I am so excited for the transfer window.

I like us signing people I haven’t heard of, Moreno and Duran are far more interesting than Digne and Coutinho.

Would love us to sign a mix of youth from the championship and big European signings, so some of these please, I know it’s football manager dream land.

    Youth:

CM Alex Scott (Bristol) £25 mil

LB Dennis Cirkin (Sunderland) £15 mil

ST Miles Leaburn (Charlton) £8 mil

CB Jacob Greaves (Hull) £10 mil

    Total: £58 mil

    Europe:

MD Matteo Gunedouzi (Marseille) £30 mil

WI Nico Williams (Bilbao) £40 mil

AM Pedro Goncalves (Sporting) £40 mil

CB Facundo Medina (Lens) £30 mil

RB Aaron Wan-Bissaka (United) £30 mil

    Total: £170 mil

    Overall Total: £228 mil 😂

Obviously that isn’t happening but I can dream. I do think the Europe set of positions is what we will sign though.

On the outs I think we’ll get about £40 mil from some of these:

    Sanson

    Wesley

    Hause

    Davis

    Traore or Bailey

    Coutinho?

    Chambers?

    Philogene-Bidace?

  16. I think we will have the budget for one or two punts.

Kang-In for £18 mil sits in that range for me, he’s got good stats but not extortionate, if it works we’ve got a young Korean winger who will attract fans if not we’d get close to that amount back and still have had some Koreans take notice of us.

  17. From the quotes from Emery and the players especially McGinnis after the game I have the feeling they’ve discussed top 4. The confidence and belief is sky high, they want it all.

Its a step too far and a couple of games too late. But I have full faith that this group will be aiming to win every game.

Id snap you hand off for the Europe now, I don’t know what I’d give you to finish top 4.
