I’m waiting for them to review that handball
-
The north needs to be levelled there is no doubt about that but from a revenue perspective they would get twice as much from me if the service and offerings were better and I’ve been in every stand recently, the space in the lower trinity is the only one where I could get multiple pints/pies before and during a game without it being a farce.
I like the little tech things they’ve done in the lower holte but the camera tracking thing and the pre order thing is done over by the fact the staff are not pre pouring or really doing much.
Space is the big problem and why the north demolition is needed, which applies to the Doug and the Holte.

Love a night under the lights, will be a great atmosphere tonight.
Although I don’t like our walk out music and always feel they could play better songs to get the crowd going before hand.

We’re links to Johnathan Rowe from Norwich England U21 winger he’s not expensive and has scored plenty in the Chanpionship,3rd highest scorer I think might be a gem for Unai to polish, nice bargain if he can step up with some Unai magic dust sprinkled on him
I like what I’ve seen from him and I still want us to be shopping in the championship, there are good young premier league players there.

Diaby's a clinical wide man in the mould of say Salah? That's the only comparison I can think of right now. As in intelligent play, intelligent movement, always looking for the right pass and right choice. He's pacey but he's not a dribbler.
Bailey is all about pace, dribbling and footwork. And his footwork is unbelievable at times. And his decision making is improving all the time.
Yep agree with that. They are different players and I’d love two more.

We lost something when he went off, that Diaby didn’t replace

Are you really asking if I support the players on our team? Of course I do ffs. Bailey's got a higher ceiling than the others you mentioned and, as I've been saying all along, it was stupid to write him off.
Bailey clearly struggled after his injury and was in a bad place mentally for a while but it was clear as day that there was a player in there. I don't know if you've ever worked in education, coaching or training, (frankly I hope not) but the way to get people to improve is not by just criticising them.
Yes that’s exactly what I’m saying

And I'm allowed to criticise people for writing players off. Not sure what your point is.
I didn’t say you wernt allowed to criticise people for their opinion it’s a forum after all. Your point was this is why we support and don’t criticise.
The point is that blind support isn’t always correct if a player isn’t up to it then they deserve criticism. Bailey wasn’t up to it and I’m sure Unai criticised him and did drop him. Are you supporting Dendocker, Traore, Chamber et al?
Bailey has turned the corner and come back stronger and I’m all for it, happy to give players like Zaniolo the benefit of time aswell but at the moment his performances don’t deserve blind support either.

You’re allowed to criticise players, he was really poor now he’s playing great, absolutely deserves the praise and is impacting games.

Best player on the pitch once again. So unlucky to have his goal disallowed and hit the post.
I missed the second half thought Kamara was the stand out at that point

The only question that needs asking is 'how would the BBC perform on the private market'.If you believe there is a need for the BBC, and it provides valuable service, why wouldn't you want to get it out in the open and see how it performs?
If it survives the test of fire, great. If not, maybe it isn't as valuable as we believe it is.
I really dont think this is the point. As stated they broadcast across lots of different mediums in genres to suit everyone and everything. The question for me is could you now create a "free" thinking organisation that has its hand in producing new tv, shows, artists musicians and culture that it does, the simple answer is no. The value of something is not always in the profit it makes and the BBC does and has had an immeasurable positive impact on the UK.
The attacks they receive is due to the tories when the BBC says something true and they dont like it, even though they give more than enough time to people like Kussenberg and Question time to spoute positive spin for them.
Everything is not about profit and your point about performing in a private market is perfect conservatism. Close the care homes, the youth and after school clubs, remove benefits because they dont make profit. When in fact they impact positiviely much further down the line as does the BBC everyday.
Saying that the BBC obviously has its flaws but it is idolised all over the world for what it achieves.

I was in the north lower with the entrance on the Doug Ellis side, if we had been a minute later we would have struggled to get in I think. They were shutting the gate and stopping all fans coming through.
Rushed past a police man on the floor surrounded by colleagues and there did seem to be panic from everyone.
Sounds a bit of a perfect storm, Villa riled fans by lowering the allocation, fans turned up on purpose hoping to get in regardless, police didn’t manage it properly.
No doubt there were normal fans wanting to come in and probably some roudy ones but nothing wrong with that. Others were just there to cause trouble.

Got my yearly pension statement today, went down by 30 quid

Didn’t realise he had a son who has been picked up by Salzburg which is a good sign.
Only 16 but I’d love him to end up at Villa.

How has he got a job when he’s not sitting MP.

It’s the next logical step

He must be really shit, since he has been called up for the Italian squad again
I trust Emery and Spaletti more than random posters in here
He’s clearly got ability just isn’t doing it for villa at the moment. His performances and more importantly Baileys impact probably justify him being dropped.
Got no problem with Emery trusting him and I expect him to make an impact at some point.

Ive seen things stating that Gaza is blocking a rival project for the Suez Canal and that it has geographic control over a potential off sea gas field, proabably just conspiracy theories.
I dont see a scenario where Israel take Gaza completely, they probably want to but I think it would be all out war in the region if they did.

I dont think they strengthened what they needed to though. Xhaka for all his faults is a better footballer at controlling a game than Rice and no surprise his new team are flying high. They also needed a new striker which they didnt get, Jesus or Nketiah wont get 20 goals a season
The keeper situation is a bit bizarre. I dont think Raya or Ramsdale are overall better than each other but it was a bad move to try to have 2 similar level keepers and was more Arteta thinking he was clever
Rice has been generally good. You cant strengthen everywhere all in one season. Raya, Timber, Rice and Havertz seemed to strengthen the spine of the team.
Two big mistakes that they have made is making Raya number one and signing Havertz. Ramsdale is a better a keeper and more importantly his personality made a difference.Havertz has been terrible for his whole time in the premier league I have no idea what he is or where he fits in any team. They definately could have got Maddison over Tottenham.
As for a striker Balogun should have been kept and Toney has to be the one for them, Watkins could also have been that man.

Maguire has actually been pretty decent so maybe a concussion is what he needs every game.
Antony is hilariously terrible.

I wonder how many of these ones that want to be Tory Queen or Tory king actually believe what they say on a lot of stuff? I don't know much about her at all, or most of them, but it seems like they say stuff now that they wouldn't have said a few years ago - that they say stuff because they think it'll make them popular with members so they can get their top job, not because they really believe it. I can imagine them having completely different views in a year's time after an election and a new leader is in place.
Maybe I'm too kind, or too cynical, I dunno, but they can't all be that apparently shallow, can they? As soon as Tory ones leave parliament they seem less evil, when they've got the freedom to not have to feel they must say all the mad stuff.
I think the problem is conservatism doesn’t work. At its base ideology it is austerity of public service privatisation to big business to generate “wealth”. Not that any of this lot necessarily believe or understand it and as you say will say anything as long as they deem it popular. This is always doomed to fail over a long enough period and create inequality.
The idea of empire and nationalism fits perfectly into this and strikes a cord with people wanting to be part of the mega beast the UK once was. You see it in the US people are happy to say they are the best when equality and public services have never been lower.
Similar things can be said of socialism but what was the labour ideology of being on the workers side seems to have been lost as too many of the workers like the idea of empire.
On a side note I really like Rory Stewart and they made a massive error to turn back by not appointing him when they had the chance in my opinion. He even has the teeth for the stereo typical Brit.

Amazing news, get those scarfs out lads.

Let’s be honest. If he did come back he’d see himself as the big fish and expect to play every game, but you just know at some point he’d get injured and be out for weeks, if not months. As some others have said, he’ll probably be washed up by his early 30s. Steer clear!
Seeing himself as the big fish was part of the reason that made he him great for us. Its horrible seeing him play now, hes a consistent footballer now not a consistent match winner or consistent moments of magic which is sad to see. Strange to see players like Doku being lauded over him as he takes on a man, that was what he was great at.
Id welcome him back with open arms on a free, I assume he signed a 5 year deal so that would make him 31. Unfortunately I agree with your points, hell be playing in Miami by then.
The Video Assistant Referee (VAR)
in Other Football
Posted · Edited by Nicho
They arnt even clear with what clear and obvious is or means. If VAR needs the ref to go to the screen then it isn’t clear and obvious to me.
I still don’t know why it isn’t implemented to allow the on pitch ref to ask for help rather than be told they need help. The power is gone from the refs they don’t make decisions knowing they can rely on VAR.
Then you get complete **** ups like the handball last night, that is a clear and obvious handball.
