  1. On the centre back, assume Carlos will be out of the season but regardless I think its an opportunity to keep Chambers/Konsa happy this season and have Carlos back next season to add to depth and push one of them out.

I dont see Bednarak as better than Chamber or Carlos meaning we are just waiting for Carlos to come back if we do sign him.

If we pay big money then they are going straight into the team.

Maxence Lacroix for me but we should have signed Nathan Collins.

They're trying to organise a fan walk out on Monday night vs liverpool

If they win that game they go above them in the league

Their fans are very much part of the  problem

    Couldn’t agree more!!!

The fact that most of their fans are fans because of winning whether they accept it or not, the whole situation is great.

They have spent money, it’s not owners money but generated money. They should be better than they are not just in squad but all infrastructure.

Welcome to the real world of football. As villa fans we have had our own but there are far worse off fans than ours.

    Long May it continue.

On a scale of 1-10, one being vanilla extract and 10 being nuclear waste, how toxic does Villa Park get if the line-up is bizarre, Everton are leading and Villa are awful up to the half time whistle?

    I'm going seven.

In that circumstance I’ll be going inside to inhale a boiling hot pie and enjoy the burn instead

Not even played a home game this season and already the talk is about booing the players. I’m old enough to remember when the support got behind the team in an attempt to help them achieve success not berate them and diminish confidence levels further.

I’m not necessarily saying we should boo after a bother loss.

For what it’s worth I think it would be aimed at the manager not players.

  5. Will be training into Moor Street. Think all the trains into Aston are cancelled so a nice hour long walk or a taxi it will be.

Getting back from Aston to the station will be terrible.

  6. I dont want him sacked at all, I also dont want him sacked on the back of one game.

However, based on last seasons formations/peformances, the questions remained of whether it would work and whether he could get the best out of the players we have/bring in.

If the answers to those remain no which they currently are he will have to go, just remains how long it has to remain no for.

  7. I just don’t see how you can blame the war when the energy companies are still marking increasing profits.

Market conditions cause price rises, usually these are passed onto the consumer, fine, it’s what you would expect.

But when profits dramatically increase, the cost of production/transport/future purchase/insurance ect has been absorbed in the increase and the increase has been in excess of the requirement.

That then comes down to company management. However you would never deny a small company the chance the make extra when they have a commodity that people require but the impact of this is ridiculous.

The government have to step in, unfortunately it is completely against their ethos to do that to large business.

I am now part of a generation where it is horrible hard to save for a house which far outstrips my income in value and when owning one it’s crippling to heat it while watching my £9 a month Netflix account.

Apologies for the long post but I think, as many have stated, we need 2 x CMs this window, one starter or at least pushing for a start and one that can cover both CM and CDM at a push.

We currently have only McGinn, Luiz, Sanson and J Ramsey, which for me is not enough.

To emphasise this (and because I’m bored at work) I did some analysis on the other teams we are trying to catch

    Leicester x 5: Tielemans (25), Choidrury (24), Dewsbury-Hall (23), Soumare (23),  Praet (28) - I’ve not include Barnes (24)

    Brighton x 8: March (28), Mac Allister (23), Mwepu (24), Gross (31), Moder (23), Alcatel (23), Samiento (20), Kozlowski (18)

    West Ham x 5: Downes(23), Soucek (27), Odibeko (19), Coventry (22), Onana (23?)

    Newcastle x 7: Jolelonton (25), Shelley (30), Almiron (28), Willock (22), Anderson (19), S Longstaff (24), M Longstaff (22) - I’ve not included Guimaraes (24)

    Wolves x 7: Jordao (23), Neves (25), Gibbs-White (22), Moutinho (35), Dendoncker (27), Cundle (20), Roman (24)

I think we need 2 x CMs, if we’re going to compete with that lot above and two of real quality.

Never even heard of some of that list, seems to be a list to try and get a point across.

Cundle has played 4 games, Anderson 1, Odibeko 0, Sarmiento 5, Coventry 0, Downes 0, Onana not signed yet.

Roman (Saiss?) is a centre back, Barnes a winger, Almiron a winger.

You also forgot Kamara, Nakamba and Iroebugnam.

Based on the criteria of your list Buendia, Coutinho and Chambers have all played midfield and so has Cash actually.

In terms of numbers we have them, people can question the quality if they want.

Don't other clubs have similar stats? If I look at us, we've managed to get through Jack and Ramsey. Our record isn't great.

My preference is that he had stayed with us, just trying to offer another perspective.

Chelseas record at bringing through players into the first team may not be great, I think it's probably comparable with other top 4 clubs. Chelsea are also pretty good at supporting players through an effective loan system that helps them make it in professional football. You can see that from the players you've listed above.

Yes it’s fairly common if not expected that most don’t make it.

It was your point that mentioned James and Mount as a reason for optimism on his part…

Playing devils advocate, Chelsea recently won the champions League with Reece James and Mason Mount in the side.

Along with Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Trevor Chalobah and Callum Hudson-Odoi.

However the following also came through the academy and didnt:

    Tammy Abraham

    Marc Guehi

    Tariq Lampety

    Armando Broja

    Fikayo Tomori

    Tino Livramento

    Connor Gallagher

I know the timelines dont quite match up but the point is its very hard to make it at Chelsea and even if you are good enough you may still get sold as a way to make funds for "bigger" signings.

I think its a stupid decision and not against him personally I hope he fails so that the long list of highly rated players still in our academy see that the grass isnt greener, you have to earn the big move first.

Love how passionate Ian Wright is about England and the woman’s game.

I did love his passion but did feel he was going over board. Not with what he was saying just time and place.

He said his piece and rightly so but then turned every question about praise of them back around.

I suppose what better place to say it than when it’s being watched by millions after a win.

Delighted for the team and even more so for the little girls watching that will be inspired by it.

I worry that if he does not start more games he might put in for a transfer. Then we would definately be wors off ( IMHO )

Tell you what,if I was Emi,I would be asking for more starts or I would be off.

I had kind of forgotten two things about last season. The fact he was dropped for some one who wasn’t performing and importantly how well he was playing when he came on.

Unfotunately I think the Ings Watkins partnership will persist, leaving less spots for Emi and a continued back up to Coutinho.

Mick is bang on here - Starmer needs to start standing for something - and he should really be standing for working people, for the Labour movement.

Starmer might want to note the popularity of Mick Lynch - it's completely based on his ability to articulate values he believes in.

Corbyn did that and now he’s a raging anti semite/IRA lover/communist

Boris is a special case because he has multiple examples of doing the opposite of all the advice, only to then cave under the pressure and reverse it.

On things like tax or benefits I think changing their mind based on new information should be welcomed.

I’m not saying it’s not welcomed.

It’s more if you don’t believe in helping poor people, support nhs, higher business tax ect ect then don’t. Wolf in sheeps clothing and all that.

Rishi is being criticised for doing a U-turn on VAT energy bills.

First thing i’d do if I were a politician being accused of a u-turn is say yes, I did a u-turn. Why is that a bad thing?

Either someone changed my mind, or the circumstances changed and what previously wasn’t a good idea is now a good idea.

Its better to do a u-turn than stubbornly stick to your initial stance.

Its one of those TTPMOBS, U-Turns shouldn’t be branded as weakness, quite the opposite.

I agree with the premise of making decisions based on circumstance and evidence, it’s clearly sensible.

However like the Boris u-turns, they are a political party with an ethos and madates based upon campaigns. Sometimes I think they should stick to initial decisions, own what you are, reap the results.

Not change because it’s not a popular decision because then what you stand for is whatever way the wind is blowing.

What's not to like? An entire summer of the Tories tearing themselves apart. Always remember, this is how they want it, none of this is anyone's fault but theirs.

Unfortunately they portray it is as everyone else’s fault and they are the ones to fix it, in an election in the near future there will be a “we are the only party to fix brexit” slogan.

Tory Greatest Hits isn't it. Make an enemy of unions, pretend it isn't happening because of their mismanagement of the economy

Would like to see Starmer come out with a plan for economic growth... it's what everyone wants. Not juvenile us vs them bullshit

Starmer doesn’t need to to come up with anything at the moment, it would be nice but it would be something the tories would beat him with.

Letting then rip each other apart is perfect.

On Kwarteng, that policy is abhorrent in what it’s trying to achieve. Useless in its application.

My maintenance is about 2200-2400 and it’s surprising how relatively easy it is to hit that number with all the food that is available to us!  Throw a few beers in and you can easily go over it.

I guess exercise is key to get that number up but it’s so hard to get going.

Yeah beer is massive, also ruins the diet for the next day for me.

As @CVByrne says general routine is key. Behaviours and actions you can actually keep up.

Regarding exercise I didn’t relate to The “Just do it” slogan when I was younger. I do now.
