Unsurprisingly, we lost all control of the midfield when he went off.

Said this in the reaction thread. His injury was the turning point. He’s been visible fantastic recently but the quality of someone like him is the things he’s doing off the ball to kill space.

Massive turning point in the game.

Sometimes I wonder how we've ended up with a manager like this. And then I remember, he's the calibre of manager we should have always had.

And my brother was telling me "you've got ideas above your station" when we sacked Gerrard. And that we are a "mid table club". All thanks to talksport I'd imagine.

Emery is one of the best things to ever happen to this club. I'm lucky to be witnessing this club transform and I firmly believe that he will bring home a haul of trophies for us. He, and the players he works with, gives me enough confidence to say that.

    What a privilege.

I’m also a believer in managers being the right fit for the club. Right time right place kind of thing.

Doesn’t do justice to the obvious hard work that is involved though. It’s why Emery won’t be going to United or likely going anywhere at all.

  3. The two players signed for “big” money from the championship in Jan, Wharton and Rogers are doing incredibly well.

The difference being I don’t think many saw it coming with Roger’s, he’s been top class the last few games.

Nah bad Bailey was pretty bad sometimes. He'd just be tripping over himself and getting dispossessed often. Even at his worst, Diaby's worst crime seems to be that he can't beat his man or doesn't even try. Worlds away from Bailey's worst. It's why I'm quietly excited to see his upturn in seasons to come. I suspect his ceiling might be higher too just like his floor.

Moussa to his credit is still working hard and doing his positional work well, as you say Bailey was bad in a different way. My biggest problem with Diaby at the moment is his passing. I have faith he will come good but its fine to say hes not doing well at the moment.

Really people sometimes post such nonsense on here.

    Moussa Diaby rubbish?

    Rubbish!

Just to follow this up I watched tonight with a load of Villa fans who all said the same the same about Arsenal.

I don’t want to scape goat him but poor again tonight but so were many.

Somewhere in the highlighted area. In between two stations (Aston & Witton). If the club and partners acquired all the land. This site is around 80 acres so you could build a new Men's and Women's stadium plus other assets. Perhaps adding another train stop near the spaghetti junction in the right corner.

The houses next to villa are the ideal location for me, a major upgrade to Witton Station and the train time table capable of delivering fans. You could then turn villa park into a fan park and even keep the holte facade as a hotel/corporate entity.

The NEC is just too far.

good performances from him, I would still sell in the summer though.

Need a younger centre back for our mix of 4 and his wages are very high.

Ive been pretty critical of him and his underlying stats backed that up but his performances have been getting better and he was collosus in the Arsenal game. Replacing him is not a priority and if he continues like that Mings, Carlos, Pau and Konsa is a great back 4 to have. A young player to replace Lenglet is the only possibility I see.

I've never played the game but I always loved the aesthetic.

    Is Goggins actually in it?

Ive tried to play the games but just cant get into them but I love the idea behind it.

Yes Goggins is in it as a main character and hes fantastic as is the rest of the show.

That was an absolutely magnificent second second half. Just incredible. I've never felt so comfortable watching is in an away game in a while.

This squad. More than that, this manager. Please extend his contract asap. He's special.

That second half was the performance of a top top team. We still won’t get enough credit for it, just dominated Arsenal for that half.

  11. I don’t really understand Israel’s position in terms of saying they will retaliate, surely someone like Iran could just flatten them if they really wanted to. are Iran not in a real position to do so? Or do nukes just trump everything.

  12. I’d love to stay at villa park but the desire of most owners is to turn their stadium into an all year round revenue generating behemoth. If they turn the area of Aston into a destination I might have to start a religion for them it would be that much of a miracle.

  13. I don’t know the shady world of these deals but for me it says a lot to get this type of investor in the top infrastructure owner.

For billionaires it’s easy to buy a load of clubs and call yourself a group. It must be much harder to pick clubs who are prime for development in the right markets with decent infrastructure in place and knit those together to seem attractive to investors.

Or maybe the names of our owners is enough to get other big dogs involved.

Utd after a new striker - what chance they go for Watkins?

they already paid a fortune for Rasmus so they have screwed themselves there in any striker is either a back up or puts him on the bench.

Not a chance he goes to United, I think he’s an Arsenal fan so that’s the only possibility. No one can afford him and I don’t think he would want to leave anyway.
