I'd be perfectly happy if our business was done already. I mentioned months ago that we didn't need loads of signings, just a couple of real quality that can push this squad on and we've done that imo.

Depending how you feel about Archer you could argue a backup striker could be needed but personally I'm good with Archer as backup, think he'll be fine, and still have Duran.

    Great summer for us.

A mate asked me today whether id take Ilheanacho as the Watkins back up and I absolutely would. The likes of Calvert Lewin would be another great option but no chance of that, hed cost a fortune and would expect to start if he could stay remotely fit.

Im concerned that Emery doesnt fancy Archer but in Unai we trust.

    It's a nice theory but........

Hitler wanted to invade all of Czechoslovakia.   His generals convinced him accept Chamberlain's deal because they weren't capable.  Czechoslovakia and France were allies and the generals feared that an attack on Czechoslovakia would see them fighting the French.

When we see pictures of the Germany Army in WW2 its always fast moving tanks, dive bombers and infantry on motorbikes.  Our perception is that they were a modern Army.  But that's not true.  In 1939 the Germany army was still heavily dependent upon the horse.

Th Germany Army used 2.75 million horses in WW2.  The UK used virtually none.

So horses were better just don’t attack the Russians with them

He's really come on well here. I have no doubts he will be important to us. The biggest problem now is who you pick as your first choice midfield out of him, Douglas Luiz, Kamara, SJM and Ramsey? I think we'll start with 3 of them in most games, but which 3?

It’s a great problem to have and we have the same problem at centre back.

Do the same in the next 2/3 windows across the other positions and you have a squad that can challenge.

I tend to believe that a significant portion of the country will just vote Tory again. Sunak is just banking on Labour not being a good enough tribute act to nick votes and people still feeling burnt enough by Iraq and 2008, and the looming ghost of Corbyn.

    It ain't a bad bet.

    I agree.

I was never that bothered about Brexit as it seemed such common sense to stay in, I voted to stay and was very surprised by how dissappointed I felt when the news came.

The Tories have been in the pits for about 8 years now, atleast Cameron and Osbourne had the illusion of competent politicians and im just glad austerity along with brexit has started to come home to roost during their successors, but the damage it has caused may not be reversible, it seems such common sense to get them gone.

I having a feeling I will have that dissapointment again when this lot stay.

Quite lucky we have missed all that intense heat

July's been a complete wash out

We had a scorching week or two in July last year it was horrible. We had high 30s and it was unbearable some of Europe is the mid 40s. Give me dancing in the rain all day.

Do we need to go BIG on a striker? We have Monchi don’t forget.

Monchis reputation is for scouting well, selling high and replacing well.

We don’t need to spend big money, hopefully he can sign the next Lewdowski before he makes it big.

We shouldn’t be disappointed with unknowns if they come in.

  8. Is he on the America tour?

There’s a young lad I don’t recognise and he’s tall and scored a goal in a vid so assume it’s him. Assume won’t get game time this season is he ready for a loan?

I had a look at this forum around the time Felix signed for Atlético and only saw one poster question the fee, most of the other comments were along the lines of him being a future star in the Ronaldo or Messi category and likely ending up somehwere like Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain.

It's easy to say it's a strange transfer in hindsight but at the time hardly anyone was saying as such, and the ones that thought the fee high were still regarding him as one of the top young players in Europe.

I think he just hasnt progressed, he just appeared as he was and is now making him exceptional for a 17 year old. The way he plays to see a young player doing it you would expect great things. At 23 and over 200 games he has a goal scoring record of 1 in 4.

    I still dont want him.

Kinda feeling like money (wages) will win this battle sadly.

Agreed, the money trumps anything he might have wanted to acheive in his career

This is exactly the type of signing we should make right now.

Hes already shown he can do it in the Premier league.

There is a very good chance he gets better next year and if he does while at Forest then this ship will have sailed for Villa anyway.

Sign him now and this time next year the majority of the Premier league will be looking on in envy.

For me its similar to signing Watkins, Eze, Toney, Phillips, Webster, Cash. Not necessarily taking punts on them but they may not be ready to be that top 6 player yet but they need to step up and none of the top 6 will take that risk. Hes a big lad aswell, he grew in to the season scoring some important goals I think it would be a great signing.

Villa is the place for Johnson to progress and seeing comments Forest fans can accept losing him to us in comparison to say West Ham or Brentford.

Alex Scott is also in that bracket.

Russians don't get the same view of things in the media.

What you see on their TV and reality as you know are far detached

While this is true and no doubt the indoctrination starts from birth the world is too big to not see some truth.

They are not closed off like North Korea they will see enough of the outside to create doubt in some, so that when things like this happen that creeping doubt comes to fruition. Although the fear to express this is still there, I’d have my doubts whether I’d have the balls to go against that establishment or just live my merry little life.

Patriotism for me is the real indoctrination, you see it here aswell.

  13. I don’t understand why it’s the BBCs responsibility to investigate it? I understand that there are internal and external optics for them to keep but if the presenter had got images from someone underage it would be with the police surely?

Urgh djokovic is such a boring word removed. Going to win this at a canter, geezers ancient in tennis terms and nobody can even take a set. Going to win about 10 Wimbledons and can't even volley.

Remember this guy playing now Berrettini, served like an absolute robot all grass season at queen's and all the way to Wimbledon final, lo and behold against djokovic serve went tits up and 1st serve % was about 40. Someone's got to step up soon surely??

He lost a set in the game he just won and should have lost the first.
