  1. I think lansbury would be an excellent signing. I think on paper it would be one of the best signings we've made in a long time. A midfielder who we know exactly what he's about and exactly what type of midfielder he is. Would be a major improvement on the current midfielders. Would still like a left hand side midfielder to add balance to the team. Adomah landsbury jedinak LM Grealish/mccormack Kodjia/rhodes Obv Rhodes is just an example of a possible addition but I think a front 6 similar to that would be a big step in the right direction. I wouldn't be too against sticking amavI at LM and buying a new LB.
  2. Not that I rate him but I find him not playing ayew yesterday one of the strangest decisions ever. Can only think that theres something in his recent links.
  3. Here's to wolves away (if you're going)
  4. Cheers TRO. Don't disagree on much of that, if any at all.
  5. Cheers for that. Believe me, my posts/aura are/is much much different when we're not a midtable championship side..... I don't mean that as in I'm spoilt. I actually quite enjoy the championship tbh. But what I mean is we clearly are performing way way way below where we should be. We can be in any league in the world and id be happy providing I'm not feeling short changed..... which I currently do massively. That said, that is improving and that's resulted in me coming to watch games again. By short changed I mean in every sense..... financial, excitement, entertainment, emotional etc.
  6. I will wait in anticipation for you to show me where I have said Bruce is crap? Or, we can discuss what I've really said which is..... Wasn't bowled over with the appointment Thought the bloke was a complete moron before but he's grown on me Has undoubtedly improved us Had no complaints with the first weeks or so Have become concerned since the Brighton game with regards our level of performance which I felt results have masked displays...... incidently, all of our defeats have come in this period of concern. Now, I'm happy to discuss any of the above points but it's pointless debating with people who simply ignore what I've actually said and instead base their posts aimed at me at this incorrect belief that I go around calling everybody and his dog crap with absolute no room for reasoning.
  7. Who has turned on the manager? Or have we just highlighted some issues? Nobody has called for him to be sacked or anything? Haven't I been saying for a few years now that it's the players we need to be really questioning? Fwiw, I think the stereotypical villa fan would be someone completely deluded with the individual talent on the pitch.
  8. Hang on a minute. The post I quoted referred to the players as a pile of shite? As do many posters when they speak in the Steve Bruce thread. All I'm saying is that it appears (in some cases) to be inconsistent with the chats in the individual player threads. If we've got such a big pile of shite, why are a number of players still rated? As for putting ppl down who are positive. Not at all. I massively disagree. What I don't do though is disagree with what I perceive to be completely unrealistic viewpoints whether they are positive or negative and I think a lot of opinions on here have ignored the realism that has unfolded over the last few years. I'm not saying ppl deny that we've been atrocious, more that positives are made from very little evidence. Now in life, it's an valuable quality to be able to be positive where possible .....and in some cases in football it's important to be positive even when perhaps it's not warranted. For example, in the crowd at villa park...can have an effect on the team. That said, I don't think there's a need to do so on a football forum.... just speak what you perceive to be the truth. Which is what I do. Steve Bruce has made a difference. That's undeniable. However, we will not take the next step, approaching games the way we are and he is accountable for that. Yes the players don't help but we know for a fact they can play better. We've seen them do so.
  9. So your love for Gardner comes from one header and his choice of school. And that's exactly why when I read you say RHM is brilliant, I know that the chances are, he's not. And his few appearances so far support that.
  10. Thing is tho. You say that but I'm pretty alone when I'm in various player threads questioning ability...... kodjia, adomah, amavi for example. So fans obviously rate those 3. We've then got baker and Chester and jedinak (bar passing) who are undoubtedly playing well. Then the likes of grealish. There is 7 first team players who I'd say across the vast majority of the fan base, are rated. It's not a complete pile of shite.......... well it is imo, but If everyone shared that opinion my posts regarding amavi not being great wouldn't be seen as pfe imo. Even in the Westwood thread my opinion of him being absolutely Shite has been viewed as being OTT. Think theres a lot of inconsistencies in opinions on here. Not necessarily yours.
  11. Can't you stop making things up? It would make your posts more readable
  12. Well. For instance you think GG is superb. Who is superb compared to? A league 2 player? Me? My 3 year old nephew? Because he is by no means superb in this league. My point is you seem to take players out of the context that they are currently in..... based mainly on you seeing them when they were younger? I've no doubt in my mind.... and I base this on your opinion alone...... that RHM will not do anything of note at this club.
  13. Do you evaluate professional footballers against everyday folk?
  14. Whilst I appreciate that different teams have different approaches, Cardiff's approach and indeed bruce's reaction displays everything that is wrong with English football. You see it on a Sunday league pitch.....'get stuck in'! All blood and guts with very little finesse.
  15. Birmingham mail seem to believe it's true. I find the thought of it hilarious and just sums up this horribly inept excuse for a player.
  16. Wishing a broken leg on anyone is pretty low.
  17. Are you really suggesting that I don't recognise the players are shite? No he can't, but there is no excuse for not turning up. It's unacceptable and is becoming a bit of a regularity recently. Hence my concerns in recent weeks where Ive felt results have masked performances and have rode on an element of luck. I don't actually think we've played well since the Brighton game.
  18. Bit sick isn't it? Weren't you sickened by similar posts re Westwood?
  19. Almost like the standard of football we play is an issue and needs addressing . Better players are required but not to simply 'turn up' which we aren't even doing in a lot of games recently. Questions need to be asked of Steve Bruce imo.. With regards his woeful football and strange decisions!
  20. That kind of tells you everything we need to know tho. I know you're not necessarily suggesting such but how often have we heard the excuses of 'he only works in a 3' etc. These were clues. Big clues... that he's shite. Good players perform well on their own merit. Not based on what's around them.... albeit that of course can enhance performance.
  21. Wonder if people still think it's extreme to call him abysmal?
  22. Eh? My point was that all the while when I was saying the vast majority of players were rubbish (and using our position as proof) people would say that good players can play in bad teams. That is true, however, the amount of players that were rated on this forum and the extent to which they were rated, was totally disproportionate to our position.... (still is tbh). As for Gana. He's not shit. Thought he was the best player in the world for twenty minutes v man its before becoming pretty average overall tho obviously one of our better players. Again, don't think he's sustained his early season form for Everton but is quite clearly a decent player who underperformed for us. Not really sure what your point is as you've simply reiterated my argument that its more than plausible that not all the Rotherham United players are as bad as Ashley Westwood.
