  1. Listened to the game on the radio, Which I always find to be way more intense than watching it to be honest. The amount of times the commentators do something like this..... "villa are playing well today there actually out passing man city (Then suddenly) BENTEKE HAS IT THROUGH THE MIDDLE, HES RUNNING AT THE CITY DEFENDERS! HE LINES UP......and the ball rolls away for a throw in near the centre circle......" Anyway back to what I actually wanted to say, I looked at the stats and we actually had more possession than Man City, that is a massive achievement away from home especially at the Etihad. So Fair play to Paul and his team, I would have put all my belongings on that stat being the other way round under mcleish. Finally the Villa are becoming interesting to watch again. I dont see us getting to many draws this season!
  2. WHAT A SIGNING!!! Lambert Has really impressed with his work in The transfer market, I was at the Swansea game and Vlaar was Immense! The exact character we need, adds some fire into the Belly of AVFC. Check this Video out, Skip about a minute in and watch, the guy is so passionate its unreal.
  3. Hey All, Going to my first Villa game in ages on Saturday, taking up a load of lads with me. Was wondering if anyone could recommend a good Pub near the stadium to have a drink before the game. Also, Im sitting near the Holte end in the trinity stand about half way up, is this a good spot?
  4. I can honestly see us finishing between 8th and 12th, I think we enough quality to be safe from relegation. Watching the Villa has become exciting again! The way our players passed and moved just shows how good a manager Lambert is considering that with Mcleish we did not hold the ball for more than ten seconds.
  5. I was having a shit day today, then I heard this news.... I was sitting in my buisness partners car checking the bbc sport page on my phone every two minutes, When I read ALEX MCLEISH SACKED I screamed **** YES so loud that he nearly crashed. Serioulsy it was close, but if I had died at that minute I Would have died a happy man. Im excited about next season now, I was absolutely dreading next season with McLeish here.
  6. He has to go, If lerner and co keep him they are horribly deluded and possibly blind?
  7. I agree that technique gets you only so far, But I sometimes think people forget why they watch football. For me I would much rather watch technical players than players like Agbonlahor, Heskey, Warnock, Hutton, Albrighton etc etc try really hard but fail. I Watch football to be entertained and has crazy as this sounds I would rather villa finished 15th than 8/9th playing attacking football. Players like Ireland /and Nzogbia may be odd and annoying characters but I would much rather watch them play. This is Slightly off point though.... I feel Ireland would have been great in some of our past teams, Playing in front of Barry and Milner Ireland would excel. Put a forward in front of him with an ounce of a football brain and he would be even better. Im not trying to say hes world class but I think if played well He is a great assest to this club.
  8. Anyone have a link to the Video? Used to be a member of AVTV an then realised it was never really worth it.
  9. If Randy keeps mcleish he clearly has no cares for the club. It would take an absolute idiot to not realise it will never work, or a disillusiond over ooptimistic American. FWIW I actually think Lerner has been good for the club, he just needs some guidance from someone who knowe something about football...
  10. Villaboy69, Ireland is clearly head and shoulders above the rest of our team techinically. I dont really see your point.... Your saying that he stands out because the rest of the team is shite, what would you prefer?? Would you prefer him to be at the level of our other players? He stands out because he is a very good football player, One of the only exciting things this season has been Ireland. I enjoy watching him play and am gutted when he is not in the team, we also clearly missed him when he was out injured recently. Your opinion of him being that he would be a very good squad player in a better team is a pointless thing to say aswell...
  11. I feel we will get a point at Norwich, there not exactly on a good run. Im just hoping our players can be arsed to really try, I think having Dunne back is actually Key, I know he is not love on here but when it comes down to it I would rather him than Baker or Clark if it gets scrappy.
  12. Gabby in my eyes does not have the technical abilities to be a top player at all. Every time he gets the ball I get excited because of his pace, end up shouting "Go on Gabby, **** run!" and then as he gets anywhere near the opponents box I suddenly remember that that's all he is good at. He then ends up running into a crowd of players and gets tackled with ease. Apart from a few glimpses now and then he is nowhere near the standard we need if we ever want to move forward as a club. Its the same as Heskey for me, he actually has played quite well recently, and no one can fault his effort but there is no way in hell we can progress into what we all want to be with these mediocre players. Of subject a little but I would love to see Carlos as the main stay in our defence next season. When he is playing with confidence he is a great CB in my eyes.
  13. Im feeling positive and saying we will win tonight. 2 - 0 to the villa!
  14. Dunne a Curse? Thats a bit strong in my opinion. I just think that Dunne and collins have not performed well with each other since MON left. Its the managers choice who he plays at centre back. I think that both Dunne and Collins are top ten defenders, just not together.
  15. Very True Swerbs he did play a one two with Weimann! But I still think my point stands. CED your bang on there chap, We just dont have to quality to afford to play Ireland further up the pitch. The more he sees of the ball the better, Nost of the games he has played this season nearly all the passing moves have come through him one way or another.
