  1. Don't rush him back and don't expect much from him for the rest of the season he is young, new and now hasn't played for most of the season due to injury.
  2. Of course they are fiddling the books but they and Chelsea are in the unique position of being able to self sponsor and write their own cheque. Also people forget both clubs have spent a few seasons cost trimming (wages) and both clubs have a vastly greater revenue that say 5 years ago. Chelsea make more than Arsenal now for instance.
  3. What he said^^ And if you make it into Europe your banned from the competition. That's on the harsh side. Look it up.
  4. Well that's unlikely to happen as the stadium sponsor will change from time to time.
  5. More like Taylor/Little someone who understands the club and the football business.
  6. Ok lets be clear. That there are no excuses when the books are balanced now, not what he has previously spent. Lets be clear that FFP penalties come into effect this year which means for the last three years we have needed to comply with it.
  7. No idea Tayls but we were so good at the end of last season due to confidence of all the players through results improving so much. This was done off the back of a Benteke on fire. I don't expect a repeat if I am honest.
  8. Gabby is great away from home because of his pace, its such a threat when playing on the counter but at home he is no where near as effective as there are no through balls. Gabby is an essential member of our team.
  9. Agree Pete. When the budget is balanced which it surely is there are no excuses to stay where we are.
  10. I don't know if he has learned from his mistakes to be honest sharky as he still hasn't put anyone at the top of the club that is very experienced in the football industry, fair play if he believes in Faulkner, who knows he might be right to but IMO the board needs a football mans opinion in the boardroom that bridges the gap between manager/coaching staff and the board.
  11. Famous name for the ground yes but all that matters is what the fans call it.
  12. Gary Gardner = Player who might have made it and now I am 95% sure he wont.
  13. I would I am all about base building. Put firm foundations down and build from there, don't spend what you don't have and all of that. e.g. Rooney at Utd I'd sell him he is 29, moody hasn't scored THAT many goals and wants 15m basic wage a year? Jog on you can get much better value would be my opinion.
  14. Joe Bennett = Crap left back but might be a decent left midfielder if developed. Problem is we don't play wingers.
  15. Your right, BUT IF it needed to go into that budget, you could argue we needed to take the money anyway.
  16. I'd think you would be all for it if he keeps 20m for Benteke in his own pocket and sells the club for 20m less
  17. Three other teams will fail and keep us up but a few wins will see us clear regardless.
  18. But if it becomes the norm we fall behind further by not having an extra £200,000 a week in the bank. If it doesn't become the norm we have an extra 10m a year to piss away
  19. Why not? Lerner has never taken anything out of the club.
  20. Yes I do, why not if the club isn't losing money anymore?
  21. Possible but if he were looking to sell for a certain price he would employ a company to sell it.
  22. To me the only thing that they cant have is the colours and the name Aston Villa they can have anything else they want for cash to make us more competitive as a club and therefore bigger. They can even call us the Lions instead of the Villans if they want not that anyone really calls us that.
  23. Yea that's possible but then your talking about what is a fee... For me it is all fees to sign a player not his wages. So agents fee, signing fee and transfer fee ok. Wage packet no. Separate budget that has to come from running costs as a club.
