  1. Hoolahan I reckon, both him and Keane to be tied up when they return on Thursday/Friday.
  2. An interesting line from an interview artical with Josh Harris last month. http://m.espn.go.com/nba/story?storyId=10807120&src=desktop Forbes also valued the 49-year-old Harris' net worth at $2.7 billion. Harris and a partnership group bought the NHL's New Jersey Devils in August, and he refused to rule out the possibility of buying another sports franchise.
  3. His worth wouldn't go down after buying Villa though, would it? He'd now have a new asset that would be part of his calculated net worth. The figures on Forbes don't equate to the amount of cash in a billionaire's bank.Yes i know that, maybe he's transferred funds but has not officially had the club handed over yet? Bank of America holding the money for example? Who knows it's just odd for it to drop 400$m since march 2014 without forbes recording a loss? When wealth goes down it always has a red arrow with the amount, but it doesn'tHope you're right buddy You've done some great research and are basing your speculation on facts. Keep it up. Cheers mate, he lives in NY too so very feasible he could be a rich associate of Randys and would also make sense as to why Lambert went to NY rather than Lerner coming her etcJosh Harris is also the co founder of New York based private equity firm Apollo Global Management, LLC. Along with 4 or 5 other guys whose personal fortunes range from $2.5Bn - $6Bn they are also, I think, all Jewish as is Lerner, could be a factor maybe?! That could be a pretty tasty consortium right there... Oh yeah and AGM is listed on the NYSE... dun dun duuuuun
  4. Was there any sniff of Sylla and Dawkinsbeing linked to us before lunchtime and teatime respectively, last January window? Could be some hope of another couple of leftfield signings...
  5. I hope you're right Crackpot! But please don't call me Shirley!!
  6. Douglas (FC Twente) Mariga (Inter) Sissoko (Toulouse) Gouffran (Bordeaux) All out of contract at the end of the season, all should be available in January for a fairly low fee allowing the offer of decent wages. Get it done Randy! ..............................Guzan................................. Lowton...........Vlaar.......Douglas..........Bennett .............................Mariga................................. .........Westwood.................Sissoko................. ..Weimann........................................Gouffran.. ............................Benteke................................
  7. Lucas Biglia from Anderlecht, very combative Argentinean DM would be a great addition. Marin would be a great loan IMO, thought for a while that we need someone who can run at defenses and take on the opposition. N'Zogbia seems to have had that quality sucked out of him by McLeish and can't get his mojo back. Wissam Ben Yedder, who we were linked to, scored 2 goals for Toulouse to beat Lyon this afternoon, takes his tally to 9 in the league and Wilfred Bony scored his 15th league goal for Vitesse, 20th in all.comps so far this season! Both players who would be welcome additions, but are likely to be too difficult to lure away in January now!

  9. Very nice turn there just inside the box only denied a shooting opportunity by a great tackle!
  10. Well he certainly isn't going to get bullied by any defenders this season, he's like a wall.
  11. Mat was responding, a little tongue in cheek, to another tweeter asking him to: "...please tell me we're still negotiating and things are progressing?" So Mr Kendrick duly obliged. That's not to say things aren't progressing...
  12. Don't want Downing back and don't think he'd fit into PL's system. I think we'll see something like: ----------Bent---------Benteke------------ -----------------Ireland--------------------- -----Delph----El Ahmadi---Holman------- Bennett----Baker-----Vlaar--------Lowton -------------------Given--------------------- Subs: Guzan, Clark, Lichaj, Herd, Curruthers, Gabby, Weimann
  13. We could get Bennett in at left back too. There's talk of that being highly probable on Twitter
  14. Found this video on youtube whilst digging a little deeper on Benteke. I looked for the highlights of this game as I saw in his history that he scored 2 and assisted with 1 in the 3-0 win. The video is 9 mins long if you have time to watch it all. Genk v Club Brugge 26.2.12 Personally I think it shows he's a very raw talent, not sure he'd hit the ground running in the Prem and may have the crowd on his back before he's given a chance, but in Lambert we trust. Oh and he doesn't look like a Lukaku sort of 6'3" big striker. Lukaku is very skilful and explosively fast. Benteke looks good in the air though!
  15. £4m is probably about right for Benteke, considering his worth to Genk. I'd expect Leverkusen to demand at least double that for Kiessling. Benteke played for Genk yesterday, although not definitive, it does make me doubt a move is imminent. Gouffran although not technically an out and out striker, was left on the bench last night for Bordeaux, so I wouldn't be surprised if it might be him.
  16. True and if PL is looking at him as an AM or winger then fair play, as long as we are still trying to get a big menace of a striker in too. IMO
  17. I very much doubt it to be honest. Cisse had a better than 1in2 scoring record in the Bundesliga and almost 1in1 for Newcastle from January last season. Ba is currently scoring 1in2 in his Prem career so far. Sagbo is a roughly 1in5 striker and even spells in the 2nd tier of French football didn't exactly boost his average. Gouffran has 64 goals in 277 career games, although to be fair to him he did have a great season last year with 14 from 34 Ligue 1 games. He is only 5'7" though so maybe PL see's him more in the no.10 role?
  18. We are definitely of the same generation If we're going that direction though I would suggest either: Ah ffs if it's going to be 16 bit game music there can be only one choice: If you're going down that route, may i suggest this We could get the party started with
  19. Sad thing is that two is about half what is required to make this a decent transfer window. I think it will be two as well, Carroll and Cresswell and I think that will set us up just fine for now. Maybe a surprise midfielder on deadline day if Warnock, Hutton and Makoun are all shipped out by Friday week. When everyone is fit I'd go for something like: ....................Given...................... Lowton....Vlaar....Clark....Cresswell ..................El Ahmadi.................. ...Holman......................Delph....... ....................Ireland.................... .........Carroll..............Bent........... Subs: Guzan, Lichaj, Dunne, N'Zogbia, Bannan, Gabby, Weimann Squad players or loans: Delfouneso, Herd, Curruthers, Albrighton, Stevens Gardner, Baker
  20. Levy deals with fee negotiations (and wages for incoming players). He doesn't choose which new players are needed (or can be let go). It's stupid to believe that AVB has nothing to do with Spurs transfers. I've given an informed opinion about Defoe, who has been mentioned a fair bit on VT. Your response is aggressive nonsense. I like to think of it as colourfully punctuated. For example: To be fair I didn't even read your **** post, as every time I see your name on this board I glance the **** past whatever is written next to it.
  21. I wouldn't take AVB's comments at face value - there's a lot of smokescreens swirling around at Spurs currently. I think there's a decent chance that Spurs will sign another striker, in which case, given Defoe's strong desire for regular first team football, it wouldn't surprise me greatly (but still a little bit) if Defoe is allowed to leave. This assumes, of course, that he'd be willing to sign for club X and that a reasonable fee is involved for Spurs. What the **** has Spurs transfers got to do with AVB anyway. 'Appy 'Arry has already told us all, over and over again that "Daniel deals wiv all that." Talking of Redknapp what odds do you think I could get for him being Jim White's studio guest on deadline night?
  22. Major overhaul of scouting not just due to PL even though it was his recommendation on this guy ! They want to have in place a proper scouting systen to assist whoever is the Manager so it becomes the clubs scouting set up not the managers ! In answering your question don't know but the real fruit of this I assume will be next summer MM can we play 20 questions with the name you know is under consideration? Yes or No answers only, no direct names. If yes, my first question would be has his name already been linked with us through the press?
  23. Think Olsson would be a great addition, particularly considering PL's preference for roving fullbacks. Ok so he may not be the best defensively, but he has 4 goals from 12 international appearances, which is feckin' great for a left back IMO. Also his agent is also the agent of Ola Toivonen from PSV, so, you know, two birds etc..
