James Milner says hello.
Craig Gardner, Steve Sidwell and Nicky Shorey give a wave too
I'm sure there's still some Dwight Yorke money left in the kitty aswell?
Someone over Pires - yes. Downing - NO for me he has to start putting in a shift and working for the team, which means tackling and supporting his fullback when the opposition have the ball, he does neither.
So I reckon it'll be Bannan out wide left with NRC and Pires in the centre; Ash 'free' role.
You joking? Downing works extremely hard and supports his full back?
I agree, Downing has been the best of a bad bunch this season, don't forget he's our top scorer aswell, I'm sure he'll play some part in this game, probably most of the second half coming on for Pires.
Quite confident about this game, Sheff Utd are struggling aswell at the moment and I'll think we'll win maybe 1-0 or 2-1, should be tight anyway. Predicting Albrighton and Bannan to start and for both to shine in this game. Downing to score at least 1.
Lerner appointed Houllier, and that for me, has turned out to be a catasrophic error of judgement. If he's going to go, he needs to go NOW, so that someone can bring replacements in. My fear, is that if the rumours are true that GH has already lined up transfers to be processed then RL won't sack him until the end of the season. By then we could be in the championship.
He didn't really though did he?
Back on topic, I hope to see him on the bench towards the end of January, coming on for the last 20 mins a few times. Who knows, he might struggle to get into the first team depending on who's fit and if we sign a CM in January.
Hopefully A. Young will be chomping at the bit to get back on the pitch, maybe he and the returning Heskey can give us a boost, Alby shouldnt have played on monday so hopefully he will be back to match fit on sat!!
A crowd pleasing 2-0 win - Downing and Heskey
I reckon the spine of the first team will be Collins, Dunne, Clark, Hogg and Gabby, all pretty hardy players who don't mind getting stuck in which is what they'll need to do!
