  1. He seems to play a 'tippy tappy' style of football which doesn't really go with our current crop of players. He's very much a Houllier signing, and therefore I don't see him getting much game time under AM because his style is completely different. FWIW I think he's a very talented footballer, perhaps, playing in the wrong league.
  2. I hate between 2:30 and 3:00 on a saturday avro, it's the longest half hour of the week!!
  3. Hate to say I told ye so, but I had a feeling he would do this alright, would nearly go back a draw now. Eck??
  4. **** me, so depressing watching that video on the OS of the 6-0 spanking! Wasn't that the last game of the 08-09 season? It must have been near the end because I remember thinking we were gonna "tear it up next season". Like someone posted earlier - what a fall from grace.
  5. Zzzzzz x2 I like Nzogbia I think he is a decent player. In terms of a replacement for one of Young or Downing he is probably as good as we could reasonably expect to get in this league. HOWEVER, I do not think there is any doubt that he is not as good as either Young or Downing and in that respect a downgrade. If he was as good as either of them then surely he'd be playing for manure or plop now and one of them would still be at Villa ? This is your opinion, certainly not fact. People should wait until he's played a season in a Villa shirt before comparing him to Young or Downing. IMO of course.
  6. You could say that with most of them! Never seen people sweat as much. Dunny looked like he had just got out of swimming pool, and that was only after three minutes.... That man needs to cut back on the Guiness me thinks. Richard Dunne needs to stop taking pre-season dieting tips from Steve Kean!
  7. This is horrible. Just horrible to watch. I cringe everytime the ball goes back to Dunne. We're a CB, CM and a LW short of a great team.
  8. Excellent signing, can't wait to see him in action!!
  9. Am on phone and trying to work out what it is he did? The club shop is kitted out in Rangers colours. Uh-huh............?
  10. If he were as good as young or downing.....maybe..... But if he were why have Manu\Pool gone for downing/young and not Nzogbia ? ............. I'm not having a dig mate but on this logic does that make Carroll better than Bent? After all, L'pool went for him and not Bent.
  11. Why though? they accepted £9mil from sha in January, his contract is now shorter and he did very little in those six months to justify a hike in transfer fee's Wigan are taking the piss, move on You honestly think we're in a position to just 'move on'?? For the sake of an extra million quid when we've just fleeced Liverpool out of alot of money, it's crazy, if we don't get this guy(French international with proven Prem experience) who do you suggest we go for??? a) we didn't fleece Liverpool, in fact I think they got a bargain I expect us to have a plan B, don't you? On point a) We'll need to agree to disagree as I don't think Downing is worth anywhere near £20m, I really took to him last season as he put in some great performances and got some important goals but he's just too one-footed for my liking and an intelligent full-back has no excuses IMO. On point Well, yeah, I would like to think so but I guess the whole point of a plan b is that it's a step down from plan a and we have no idea what that second option might be. If plan b is SWP/McGeady/Etherington.....etc, then I would rather pay a bit extra for N'zogbia. I don't think wanting £10m for N'Zogbia is taking the piss when we've got the best part of £40m for Young and Downing IMO.
  12. Nope, he's a winger. Consider yourself corrected.

  14. It's so frustrating, it's going to be such anti-climax when he does actually get announced because it's taken so long.
  15. I see room for negativity there! Sunderland
  16. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ar6YhENN6Og For those who aren't sure if he's good enough to replace one of Young/Downing.........
  17. I'm not usually one for the doom and gloom merchants we see on here, but between Young going, the dithering over Given and N'Zogbia(if we're even interested) and now Downing all but confirmed as sold i'm really struggling to remain optomistic about the season(s) ahead. The only thing that can turn this around for me is if we now go and spend £30-40m on qaulity players. Given and N'Zogbia will do for starters, get them in ASAP because the further this goes on the more unsettled us fans become and that'll start to trickle through to VP and the players/staff. Really frustrating time to be a villan.
  18. Because our manager is Alex McLeish and not Craig David.
  19. We've been reading that for about 10 days now, i'll believe it when I see it.
  20. I'm actually really surprised he became a full-back, at school he was very skillful and tended to play on the wing, I guess the youth coaches at Rangers didn't think he was good enough for the wing at pro-level and but saw something in him defensively which meant he was kept on as RB. I think we see that in his game, IMO he's excellent going forward, not unlike Walker but with less of an engine, but he's prone to errors and lack of concentration at the back which at English Prem level, you get caught out.
  21. **** me, what's your definition of average?? :?
  22. Can't link it as i'm on my phone but story now up on Sky Sports website that McLeish is ready to move for Alan Hutton, this one seems to be gathering pace.
