  1. TheTrees almost took down an entire club. What a destroyer. Sign him up to play the midfield.
  2. I'm fairly confident that this is just Molde's way of extracting more money from us to get a bigger buyout from OGS. No doubt they are going to try and cash in on the fact that OGS leaving means losing huge investments and they will want compensation. Randy will write a big check, we'll have our manager, Molde will have their giant payoff. Win/win for everyone.
  3. Huge gamble. Not really comfortable with it, but he does encourage the right style of football. If he has an eye for talent, then he'll be a huge success. And he most certainly would be cheaper than the other highly named options in Lambert and Martinez, yes?
  4. The only way I'd feel truly comfortable with OGS is if we have a DOF.
  5. Not only have I not found one Villa fan who was unhappy, I haven't found one football fan who isn't happy about this. Again, this was soul crushing football, everyone knew it. Supporters didn't enjoy it, and opposing supporters didn't enjoy it. We were worse than Stoke, IMO, for the neutrals. I'm not sure the Norwich fans will be particularly enthused... Yes, but who cares about them?

  7. http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/2012/05/14/alex-mcleish-fired-sacked-aston-villa-fc-news-2012-managerial-change-england-english-premier-league/ From the other side of the pond. Called Alex McLeish's style of football "soul-crushing"
  8. Saw new odds recently that put Martinez at almost even money.
  9. I think many, including me, are hoping that after this season of discontent and cost cutting then the subsequent immediate firing of McLeish after the end of the season, we are ready for reinvestment from Randy. That should attract more appealing managers.
  10. Martinez would be a clear declaration of our intent to challenge upwards again.
  11. I'd say that fan in the background with the look of terror on his face would probably describe my feelings about that. And please. Please. Let Monday be the day.
  12. Please. End this man. Today. Hell, for his own safety, end this appointment. I feel like McLeish may need his own fleet of body guards in order to survive one game next season.
  13. AgentITK is looking for hits. I'm sure pretty soon he'll "report" that McLeish is staying. That way, he has his ass covered no matter what happens. Classic wannabe journalist looking for hits. Not saying he is right or wrong. He's guessing. I think the McLeish decision has yet to be, if I'm being honest. At least by Lerner, that is.
  14. My guess is because most of us realize that mentality means just as much as talent? Seriously, what can McLeish say in his pre game talk? "Let's go draw this match!"? Sometimes, teams with lesser talent win games because they have a mentality that they can win the game. This, OTOH, is giving up before you step foot on the pitch. McLeish OUT!
  15. I mean, it's certainly lacking quality, but at least use the attacking players we have, rather than playing for the draw at the start of the match. Heskey up front by himself is surrendering himself at the beginning. No ambition.
  16. Lambert surely looks, what was it again? "Tactically inept" today. McLeish is wondering how he has the nerve to challenge a top team like this...
  17. Capello made it quite clear in that article that he has no intention of starting a project. He wants to take a Champions League team and enhance them.
  18. Capello would surely head to either Liverpool or Chelsea. I'd be quite shocked if we did hire him.
  19. Luck or not, Cisse's goal is far more impressive than Crouch's.
  20. Simple math would conclude that it will take something pretty incredible for us to get relegated.
  21. I wonder, between the Browns and Villa, how much Lerner is paying managers/coaches. I bet he could field another Prem team with the money. And that article was spot on. If we keep McLeish and we fall out of the gate, supporters will be keen to set to burn it all down.
  22. Would have been relegated by Easter.
  23. I mean, at times, Hutton isn't...bad. Then he'll completely whiff on a clearance or let his man slice through him like a hot knife through butter and we are down 1-0. The talent is there, but for what we are paying him for and what we need, he should be loaned out if at all possible. How much longer are Collins, Dunne and Warnock's contract?
