  1. I think you will find 99% of the anti Bruce posters on here are in the first camp. I read very few posts that I would attribute to someone from the second camp.
  2. What's was wrong with those seven words, and the comma?
  3. The relevance is that you look for trends and improvements. You analyse results and performances to see how you are doing over a period of time, and you chose a longer time period to rule out anomalous results and luck (good or bad) Up until the last few games there had been no improvement in performances. That's the relevance. If you are discounting the last season's performances because they are done, gone, in the past, then you must also discount the fabled four promotions on the same basis.
  4. Show me a post of someone that is unhappy that we have won. Specifically that they are unhappy that we have won. I bet you can't.
  5. What evidence is that then? All I see is the so called "bruce bashers" (myself included) happy that Villa are winning. From my own perspective, If it lasts I will be very happy, If we get promoted I will be ecstatic. Most of the Gloomsters and Doomsters will be as well. There are a few people on here that for some reason think that anyone who posts criticisms of Bruce has some sort of personal agenda against him, or some form of mental issue where they cannot be happy - we don't, we just want to see our team succeed, and if Bruce is not achieving that (which he hasn't been) then we will say so, and dont need anyone's permission to do so. We have won a few games, and are now on a decent run, however, that does not negate the 11 months of shit we have had to put up with from a manager who was out of his depth, and who has rightly been criticized for it. He has managed to start treading water now, and hopefully he will learn to swim over the next few games. That does not mean that we are out of the woods, and to think otherwise is ridiculous and naive. A collection of wins against poor teams is the minimum we should expect from a team chasing promotion - Next few games are the crucial ones, both in terms of performance and results. The jury is very much still out on Bruce.
  6. 4 year contract signed 10 September 2014. So yes, hopefully this is his last season stealing money from Villa.
  7. All this talk of humble pie is just as laughable as the hysteria comments. Yes, we have done well in the last few games, but we really must consider the opposition we have been playing. If we are serious about being promoted, games against these types of teams (and good wins against them) should be bread and butter for us. I am very happy that we have won, I am very happy that we scored 4 - absolutely, but I am not going to get excited just yet. We have had false dawns before, and until we play the tougher teams and put in convincing performances against them, I reserve the right to be skeptical. Credit where it is due though, and the last few games have definitely been an improvement on the dross served up during Bruce's reign. I hope that he has genuinely seen the light and realized that we are not the underdogs and thus should not act like we are. He has done what is needed, and his job should be safe for as long as he keeps this up, he now has an excellent opportunity to kick on and get us up the league. I'm hoping that this is the start of a run for us. If Bruce can get us into the top two by Christmas and keep us there, then I will accept that he has turned things around, until then I remain unconvinced (although I am now a little more optimistic than 3 weeks ago).
  8. You think we are settled and prepared for the prem now? Really?
  9. That's not a plan, that is a set of objectives. A plan has details and a methodology for achieving those objectives. Unless you count, "lump it to Kodjia and hope he does something, then rely on Gabby when Kodjia is away" as a plan then Steve Bruce really does not have one.
  10. Wow! Can I have some of what you are smoking please?
  11. Yes, good idea. Print it and post it to Steve Bruce.
  12. Quality mature argument. Well done you!
  13. Yes, and most of them for some reason are members of the "we love Steve Bruce" fan club. Maybe they are family members or something.
  14. Don't be ridiculous. Of course I am not upset that we won, I am very happy. I enjoyed the win immensely, but I am not convinced by one win on its own. And no, I don't hate him. I hate what a s**t job he is doing. I have never said anything personally at the man and I challenge you to find anything personally insulting I have said about him. "Worth hating" was in relation to poor performances, not the man himself - If you think it is unreasonable for a Villa fan to hate seeing our beloved club in its current state, then you are the one that needs to grow up. I don't get some people on here, you express concern about the way your club is being run and the results, you comment about the managers performance over the last (nearly) 12 months and you get pathetic insults like this from people. And please - do NOT mix up the people like me that want to see a capable manager take us forward, with the ones that just want to throw insults (which is a tiny minority of us so called "haters"). Now that you have bought it onto personal comments I will say this: I thought at first he was the right appointment, he has since proven to me (and many others) that he is not up to the job, it is too big for him - what he always had going for him was that he was a nice guy, respected and someone you would always be happy to have a beer with. Over the last couple of weeks his comments about the fans have been insulting, classless and downright embarrassing for the club, as well as ridiculous excuses that anyone who knows the club and has watched the games will see straight through, unfortunately many in the wider football world who don't pay much attention to Villa beyond the results (and some more gullible Villa fans) will lap them up. I get that he has been (deservedly) under immense pressure but his actions in the last couple of weeks have been bizarre and frankly, stupid - it is not the way to get the fans back on side.
  15. There is nothing to justify - over the past 11 months results have spoken very vocally for themselves.
  16. Unfortunately not the added skills, talent or ability to do so.
  17. I think Shit would suffice, and covers the situation nicely
  18. I didn't say that. I said that they should be judged based on the law and social standards of the time. I didn't say someone who committed a crime (as defined at the time) should not be retrospectively punished, but they should be punished using the punishment standards at the time of the offence (by all means use modern standards of detection and proof). Anything else would set an extremely dangerous precedent.
  19. KMac who left in 2013 and managed 6 months at Swindon and hasn't managed since................. ......would still be an improvement on Bruce
  20. Seriously, a thousand pages on Steve Bruce on VT and you have only had to delete 9 pages worth of posts? That's remarkable. :-)
