  1. Yes, very unlikely hence the use of the term dream.....
  2. So for the people calling him a legend..... here's a question for you.... Do you honestly think that in 10 years time his name will be revered alongside the likes of Shaw, Morley, Withe, McGrath, Atkinson, Spinx? Or even Laursen, Mellberg, JPA, Saunders? I would put money on the answer being no. He will just become a stat that gets pulled out from time to time. A real shame as he could and should have been much more. An even bigger shame that the club has been at such a low ebb for over 20 years that people who have not been lucky enough to see true legends play in our colours only have Agbonlahor to generate this level of admiration.
  3. The dream was more along the lines of all six results going out way and us being promoted in second and not needing to play anyone in the playoffs.... :-)
  4. Lame. LoL people really do misuse the term legend nowadays.
  5. How do you know other members of the team/squad have done or not done charity-wise. You make it sound like he is the only one who has done anything? You are certainly saying he has done MORE than the others... How do you know this?
  6. Mate, I truly respect you sticking to your guns on defending Gabby - but if I was on his salary I would do a shit load more for charity than this, plus many many players do more too. The point of charity work is because you believe in it, not for Kudos. "helped raise £20K"..... Hmmmmmm..... peanuts for him. That said, I would not be too unhappy with him getting a 5 minute run-out on Saturday, as long as we are comfortable in the game.
  7. Well I cant speak for the rest, but I was in Hawaii. Just got back. Depressed now!
  8. True enough, and I would have contingency plans as I should know if someone is not meeting/unlikely to meet their targets - one would hope that the club would also have plans in place - but this is Villa so it's not guaranteed. Personal viewpoint is that Bruce should go at the end of this season - hopefully with a thank you for getting us promoted. He is not a manager for building something in the premier league, he is a manger for fingernails survival in the prem, and has failed at that a few times. Whatever happens, we will need to rebuild in the summer - hopefully in the prem, and if so the summer will show us the extent of the good doctors ambition. If we do not go up, we should not assume that the status quo will be maintained. We would likely loose a couple of our key players. Terry, Kodjia, Grealish, Chester, Snoddy, will all be in other teams radars. I would like to think we could keep some of them but we will not go into next season with the team/squad that finishes this one. I am praying that the summer activity is building our prem team rather than fighting off the vultures.
  9. Perhaps if you were bought in as an expert in a field to do one job, and only one. One target and you miss it......? Now we may go up through the playoffs and I sincerely hope we do, so Bruce hasn't missed his target yet. But to go back to the staff I employ, I monitor their progress to make sure they are performing, and looking like they will hit their targets and don't wait until is is all finished to see how it went. At the moment, Bruce would look shaky on that measure.
  10. Well, that is exactly what I do with contractors. They are on a three month contract, meet their targets, get renewed. Don't meet them, don't get renewed. Simple. Nothing bonkers about it at all. What would be bonkers would be just accepting failure because we did alright and almost met the targets. Now permanent staff would get help to improve their performance, but if they failed continually, they would be let go or reassigned to a less demanding role (all following due legal process of course). Why did I mention contractors - that's the closest analogy to Steve Bruce. So yes, I would get rid of him. Nothing bonkers about that at all. You needn't worry about me being your boss. I would never employ you, based on your views of what is bonkers, or your apparent view that failure is acceptable. :-)
  11. I'm pretty sure that the pre season target was automatic promotion.and given our squad it certainly should have been. That has not been achieved barring a miracle. I'm glad you are not my employee. I expect excellence from my well paid staff, not whinging and excuses. Scraping by is not acceptable.
  12. If we continue to get wins, and also manage to get.promoted.... I won't.
  13. So are the points that came with them games. That's the annoyance. We could and should have been in pole position for second but threw it away.
  14. I am feeling a little bit hysterical.....
  15. @A'Villan hope the Barbie was better than that shite mate and it didn't bugger up your birthday too much.
  16. I am not one of Bruce's biggest fans (you may have noticed) and much as I was infuriated by the performance mid week we absolutely have to get behind the team and the manager for the rest of the season. Let's hope for a reaction on Saturday and we get back on form for the rest of the season.
  17. literally many people have implied this......
  18. Oh, I'm sorry. Are we not allowed to criticise a shite performance against one of the worst teams in the league? It's not like we played well and lost, that happens and you live with it. This was an utter spanking by a team that have won two away games all season.
