  1. I have actually thought about this. When I was over there a couple of years ago, I didn't see much of the country, just mainly London, Birmingham and Manchester. As with any country I visit, I wonder how I would cope living there. I decided on a place that seems nice, is closish to Birmingham for Villa home games, and also not far from London. For my fantasy emigration, I chose Watford.
  2. Kind of agreeing with your point of view. There may be sticks to beat Qatar with, but it all seems to deflect from the real issue here. FIFA are the real scumbags. While everyone rags on Qatar, FIFA meanwhile are getting less of the blame, and I think they may be secretly happy about Qatar taking the hits for their shithousery.
  3. Josh Cavallo, the Aussie player that just came out is over there.
  4. After disconnecting the pipe, he stared up the dirty brown hole. It was very much packed up. To get the flow going again, he was going to have to use his snake.
  5. Something I find niggling about the news feeds. The majority of criticism seems to be headed towards Qatar rather than Thiefa. I feel it is about 70 - 30. I believe it should be the other way around, only about 80 - 20 against Thiefa.
  6. Something involving a toilet brush, three budgerigars, and an oddly shaped avocado. Ivan the maintenance man has turned up to unclog the kitchen sink. As he sets to work, things start to get a little steamy.

    U.S. Politics

They should be able to relate. After all, the Dems have been copping exactly that for the past 6 years.
  8. I would love it if somebody planted gay porn in Infatino's bathroom and gave the authorities a tip off.
  9. He is Scott from Austin Powers and I claim my five pounds.
  10. As long as there are games in Brisbane, I would be happy to go some Women's World Cup games.
  11. That may be an issue. Another issue is that during June and July, the major stadiums in the big cities are in use by the AFL and NRL. A compromise would need to be reached, but that shouldn't be too hard as alot of Cup games would be played during the midweek.
  12. The following is an unsponsored rant from an angry peasant. I remember about 12 years ago, before the announcement of the host for the 2022 world cup. My country was in for it, and I had a somewhat quiet confidence. We had the Olympics 10 years ago, and it was quite a success. We had a budding football league that could use the leg up from hosting a World Cup. Our infrastructure was ready and capable, and we were a country that people wanted to visit. If we didn't get it, no worries. Japan, South Korea and the USA were also capable of putting on a great tournament, so if we lost to them, no big deal. But Qatar? WTF?! Didn't see that coming. The obvious questions and suspicions arose. This was well before the raising of worker deaths, and the focus on their attitudes towards gays. How can such a small country, with very little football background, with a hostile weather environment host a major international tournament? Something stinks here. As time went by, obvious suspicions became fact. Thiefa had sold the World Cup. I am not really that angry with Qatar. I am sure alot of the people are very nice, and that there is alot of beauty there. As for the issues people have with their customs and laws, they have been around longer than before they were awarded the Cup. Instead, my anger is directed at Thiefa. As for everyone else, where were they 5 or 10 years ago? Why have they decided to get upset about Qatar's laws and attitudes during the countdown to the Cup? People are saying if teams are so offended by Qatar, why don't they boycott the tournament? Simple. Because it's too f***ing late now! Footballers are going to football. The penultimate of playing any sport is to play on the biggest stage possible. Regardless of whether it is in Qatar, Palau, or even in the Antarctic, the players are going to have reservations, but they will still play. If a national team was serious about boycotting the World Cup, then they wouldn't have bothered trying to qualify. So, here I am. I am not watching the games. The only stuff about the World Cup I am getting is from my news feeds and the lovely people on Villa Talk. Despite everything I have moaned about so far, there is something else that is pissing me off even more. Six more weeks. A six week long " commercial break" until I can continue watching the ongoing saga of Villa's season. Will Unai make Villa a force? Who is coming in in January? If Chelsea come in for Bailey, will we tell them to f*** off? Where will we finish? If we do well, will Danny Murphy do everyone a favour and throw himself out of a window into traffic? Those answers are going to have to wait. If you have bothered to read all this, then wow, I doff my imaginary hat to you. Well done and thanks. This is the longest post i have written, and I think I need a lie down now. Rant over.

    Stand Up Comedy

Jim Jefferies, my favourite stand up. Here he is having a pleasant chat with Piers.
  17. Six week mid season break. So much fun, so let's do it again.
  18. That he is, and he should stick to that. However his constant defence of Qatar, and his attack on anyone against this world cup seems to go beyond what he is there for.
  19. My question is, paid by who? He doth protest too much.
  20. Who is going to run against him? If a candidate rocked up with the intention of cleaning up FIFA, restoring their integrity and ending the corruption, they would be about as welcome as a Mexican reporter at a MAGA rally. If there was going to be another candidate, it would be one offering more corruption with a new improved flavour.
  21. Probably because the head of the snake isn't a person, but their bank accounts. Cut off their cash flow, and you kill FIFA.
