  1. Easily my favourite track from UMB . Monster of a tune .
  2. Not at all . Given the choice I'd choose his numerous solo albums over the 2 band albums. His last album was genius .( My Way ) . I can't recall too many artists who could create a concept album based upon the biography of their own careers . The song Always remember me is just a massive snipe at Squire set to an anthemic melody , all held together by clever lyrical choices that are rarely seen in the avarage artist . He can't sing in a classical sense but his genius is undeniable . Who else could write a song as majestic as FEAR , where every verse relies on the letters FEAR to start each word in the setence ? Fallen Empires Are Running . Indeed they are.
  3. Maybe musical taste is subjective ? I think the Stone Roses are amazing and Ian Brown is as talented as John Squire , if not more so . His solo albums alone are worthy enough to class him as a legend . From anything ive heard from him live, he has a terrible voice. Theres no doubt his voice is sketchy at best but I find his voice lends itself well to the atmosphere of the song . Unfinished Monkey Business is a lo - fi masterpiece and Ians unique voice is one of the main reasons for that .

  5. If you are artistic then you can design almost anything with the tools provided . I have seen some quality emblems recently .
  6. Hollywood releasing the movie "Pearl Harbour " was more than sufficient in the karma stakes .
  7. I 'd never played HQ before either . I spent the first 5 minutes thinking " What the **** am I supposed to do here ? "
  8. Thom Yorke . Harrowdown Hill . Wonderful stuff .
  9. Noah and the Whale . LIFE GOES ON . Upbeat and catchy .
  10. Just tuned into BBC 1 after seeing this thread . Absolutely mental . Just saw an airport flooded in a matter of moments and the sight of thousands of cars flying down the river is completely surreal .
  11. No, getting put out of the cup by Small Heath because GH can't get a team motivated enough to try win a game. But while your on that subject that was also a bit of a **** up to go with the rest. A laughing stock is all GH is creating. Villa tried to win that game though ? Terrible example to pick really and why do you care if we are a laughing stock ? Do you live in a nose area ? How bad is your suffering really ? You really do make a mountain out of a molehill sometimes . It' a game FFS .
  12. My kettle blowing up . I still have 2 other viable ways of boiling water , ie the hob and microwave so it shouldn't piss me off but still . .. I drink a crazy amount of tea and coffee as well.
  13. The fans who back GH get what they deserve ? Pretty much says it all really . It's all spite and hate with you Fran , isn't it ?
  14. theunderstudy said that. His real name is Andrew. Eh? Keep up Andy. Also did you know Andrew is Hebrew for "Whale's vagina "?
  15. It's Blackpool with better weather basically so if that's your thing you'll have a blast .
  16. Sticky Vicky must be dead by now ! Surely!
  17. If I am watching Groundhog day with company I will always point out that the character Buster is Bill Murray's actual brother . That's as far as I go .
  18. It is. Ah ! I wondered why there were so many folks outside the Abbey this morning . (Local RC church in Erdington )
  19. It's debatable though, whether the success of people's so-called "second teams" feel even remotely as good as, say, the feeling if we were to win a Cup. Read the last part of my post . I say as much myself. I know, it's just that I don't think I'll ever really understand why people would choose to support clubs that win trophies every season (apart from geographical reasons), there's no kick in that. Nvm, I'm just venting, slightly If the Jags even just made it it to the NFL playoffs I' d probably get a seven day boner . The baseball team I chose ( Chicago Cubs ) are notorious failures as well . I could have easily chose Patriots and Yankees but where would the fun in that be ? I love misery I guess and as Del boy says at the end of OFAH , the fun is in the chase . With my teams it's going to be a bloody long chase . Mr Mooneys sig also has a certain resonance in this matter I feel.
  20. I have nothing but admiration for non-brummy Villa fans . Daft bastards but I admire them . Probaby for that reason too .
