  1. Me too. The obvious problem that we are all having trouble getting along here blatantly stems from the fact that we are impatient. Its like ordering a 60" 4k 3D smart tv then being told the delivery time is 60 days from now. We're adult men so naturally the first thing we will do is sulk. Once it arrives and is fully operational we will love it for 10 minutes and completely forget the stress that was involved whilst waiting for it. Then start moaning that the blu-ray player we own isnt the same make as the telly and we need a sound bar. The players will arrive chaps, lets just try to get along whilst we wait. Spot on. Only when it arrives half the people will hate the new TV and say it is crap....and so goes the cycle
  2. Well lets all hope he posts "Welcome" sometime soon then...
  3. The signings will soon come and I have a sneaky feeling we will have the best season we have had in years, playing much better football to boot. We have dismantled a crap team and are starting afresh so lets see where the chips fall. We all know Tim likes a cheeky gamble and backs himself - I wouldn't bet against him doing much better than many of the doom and gloom merchants on here expect. Go on Timmy boy, make it happen!! singing "lalalalallalalalalala".
  4. Apparently he was seen eating a lion bar as well (wink wink).....
  5. Probably not a major factor, but it can't hurt to have several players from the same country (language, culture). Could help them to settle a little easier and more quickly in a new country and deal with any B'ham culture shock
  6. Oh dear......sad but time to move on now. Edit: Deleted picture
  7. He doesn't look very happy does he...
  8. Rodgers dosn't want him She doesn't either Would you?
  9. Don't think anyone has said he was crap have they?
  10. Worth remembering that with injuries etc. he scored 13 PL goals in 2014 and 10 in 2013. I would expect a £10m striker to score that. Plus, if we have better all round players and more goals coming from other areas we might do OK. Of course he is a massive loss, I am just saying.
  11. The predictions about the specific amount we will and won’t be spend this window are futile, nobody has a clue. Clearly the pessimists have us relegated already because of that tight git Lerner, while the optimists are sitting anxiously expecting a rapid influx of players any minute now. Personally, I prefer to hope - it is so much nicer than the doom and gloom - but as always time will reveal all.
  12. Quote Aston Villa plan a move for £7million rated midfielder Nampalys Mendy Aston Villa are looking to move swiftly in their search for a new midfielder by eyeing a move for Nice star Nampalys Mendy, according to reports from the Daily Mail…..Recent reports had claimed that Villa were eyeing a surprise move for Tottenham Hotspur star Tom Carroll but manager Tim Sherwood is looking at other options as well and now according to the Daily Mail, it has been claimed that the Villans are planning a swoop for Nice star Nampalys Mendy. Despite being only 23, Mendy has garnered a lot of experience in the French Ligue 1 over the last few seasons and is regarded as one of the most promising defensive midfielders in the division. As a result, Mendy has widely been mooted to make a step up to the Premier League and Leicester City have been pursuing the midfielder. The sale of Delph means that even Villa have joined in the race for Mendy and are set to ramp up their pursuit for the £7million-rated star in the coming weeks. http://footballrepublik.com/aston-villa-plan-a-move-for-7million-rated-midfielder/
  13. We could make it a condition of the transfer that he changes his name from Charlie to Steve Stone Cold Steve Austin or bionic man Steve Austin? All this talk about net spend is just so gross There's no profit in it....
  14. I would respectfully disagree. I have been impressed with Sherwood (his ambition, determination etc) and the backroom team he’s building. That is what gives me a lot of hope. If he were to quit I, for one, would be panicking.
  15. I agree. He could be very good for us playing in behind the strikers or perhaps out on the right. I think he will get stronger as he plays more games in the PL and gets more street wise - think it was a similar story with Jack when he first started. He should study someone like Messi who is the same height and rarely gets muscled off the ball
  16. For me he still has pace, power, makes good runs and works hard. It's his bloody finishing, it is truly appalling at times. I still struggle to understand how a player who spends all day every day training cannot hit the target - he's a striker ffs! I said yesterday in another thread, if I was Sherwood and would have him work on shooting and finishing for hours and hours and hours and hours......and hours. Can I go home now Tim I'm knackered? "No, keep going to you hit the goal"
  17. Apparently some Villa ITK reckons Liverpool are after Zog......
  18. Quote from Spurs blog - Villa ITK says Ade a Done Deal Emmanuel Adebayor is edging closer to....joining Aston Villa where he will be reunited with Tim Sherwood. Sherwood has made it plain this is the striker he wants to replace Liverpool bound Christian Benteke but the Villa hierarchy are not so keen on the idea. It seems as though Sherwood has got his way though and the former Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid striker is likely to be seen in the Midlands next season. The ITK from the Aston Villa end is that a season-long loan deal has been agreed, other sources are saying the same thing so fingers crossed. Adebayor has refused all offers we have made him to leave, wanting us to pay him his full £5.2 million salary, a loan deal negates us having to pay that and will mean Villa get a motivated player playing for a contract, we all know what happens after that. Nothing is ever cut and dried with Ade though so until he actually puts pen to paper there is still cause for concern http://tottenhamhotspur.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/villa-itk-says-ade-done-deal.html
  19. Must admit I worried he was showing his frustration that the injury was a bad one, but your version sounds better. Lets hope it's not serious, I think he is going to be important (good) for us this season. Well he was doing it when he was on his feet. If it was that bad I can't imagine him standing to release his frustration. Immediately after it happened you can see him grimacing cursing. As I say, I hope it is minor and he was angry at the player.
