  1. So with Ayew looking likely and another striker on the cards (e.g. Ade) do people feel more positive about our prospects next year? What do we still need to strengthen. Lets assume we don’t have an unlimited budget and we have to be selective, what are the biggest problem areas that we must fix? For me we still need a strong right-side midfielder or winger.
  2. Beatles theme ‘Hey Jude’ Nah nah nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah, Ayyyy ew Nah nah nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah, Ayyyy ew
  3. Speaking of release clauses I wonder what will be written into the contract - 32.5m seems a popular figure
  4. Even at the reported 125 million? Euros or pounds?
  5. Well if he's that bad then I think we should all boo him whilst he warns up for his debut. I wish we would sign someone. Oh sh*t not him!! You dirty Delph. Get out of eeerrr. We don't want you. Boooo. You're crap.
  6. Does he work hard? Well he runs a lot Does he track back? Not sure Can he pick a pass? Definitely Is he consistent? Of course, I watched the whole clip and he never missed Can he use both feet? Mmmm - I need to check
  7. I am not biting. Great signing. Be happy another quality addition to the squad and hopefully a few more to come.
  8. Really like the look of this guy....some of the goals later on look very good. Even his penalties, always sends the keep the wrong way. Looking forward to seeing him at VP. Sorry for cross-posting this clip, I am just too excited!!
  9. especially as on top of this we need another 4 players and have jst 20M left We really don't know that do we?
  10. Dont care about the money - good signing. What about what Arsenal sing for Giroud? Simple but effective?
  11. Time to bid the premier league Adeyew? LOL. Good answer, but lets hope you are wrong...
  12. To me it is a bit like buying insurance for a year. We will buy a young striker like Ayew, but he will need time to settle in the PL. Having Ade will take a lot of pressure off him as he contributes goals. It is well documented that he has a contract to play for and he has been left out in the cold. If he comes here he will have a manager who loves him, who will stroke his bruised ego and tell him (and the world) what an exceptional player he is. He will have young energetic players around him who will look up to him and play for him. He will have fans who will quickly love and support him if he starts well. I just think the forces are pointing in the right direction and he could thrive here, so for me he is a risk worth taking.
  13. Retail Park right by the ground, plenty of spaces there. Or just park in the Centre and get the train in to Bescot. You could end park at Villa and get the train from Witton. Thanks buddy
  14. Quote - don't know how true it is... Aston Villa have made a £7m bid for Jordan Ayew of Lorient Aston Villa have made a £7m bid for Jordan Ayew of Lorient. That's according to French journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi and RMC, who we are led to believe is reliable. Ayew has been linked with a move to Aston Villa for a while but also to Borussia Dortmund, and there were claims in France recently that a move to the Bundesliga club was complete, after an internet prankster fooled the media - it doesn't just happen with the British press then! Ayew is only 23 years of age and has already represented Ghana around 30 times, with a 1 in 3 scoring ratio at international level. For Lorient his scoring record is similar and the striker has only been with the French club for one season, having moved from Marseille last summer. Ayew has been considered a hot young prospect for some time and is now starting to fulfil his promise. His brother Andre Ayew recently signed for Swansea City on a free transfer, and Jordan may well be tempted to join him in the Premier League. Aston Villa's offer is good for a club who finished 16th in Ligue1 last season, but the new Premier League TV deal has seen more money pour into clubs here and that's not lost on teams in Europe when Premier League sides like Aston Villa come calling. The £7m is before bonuses and Lorient are yet to respond to Villa's proposal. http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/aston-villa-have-made-a-7m-bid-for-jordan-ayew-of-lorient
  15. Well generally the word potential is used in regard to actual young players. Not those entering their late 20's. He's 26!! Anyway, I was simply suggesting he might be able to make the step up and do a job for us. As I said, I haven't seen much of him at all and those that have seem to be suggesting that might not be the case.
  16. He's 27 in October. Oh does that rule him out then....
  17. Gestede looks like he has potential. Has impressive stats and in the highlights I have seen he looks very good. Has anyone seen much of him?
  18. Potential to match Jack's barnet though....
  19. Can anyone tell me what the parking is like by the ground? Any recommendations as to where to head? Cheers
  20. From what I can tell Diego Rolan 14-15 28 Starts = 15 Goals 13-14 13 Starts = 2 Goals Jordan Ayew 14-15 26 appearances = 12 goals 13-14 33 appearances = 6 goals 12-13 35 appearances = 7 goals
  21. Exactly, even if Man U offer him a derisory amount it will still double ours! Perhaps money is not such a priority after playing at Man for four years and he is now hankering after a bit more game time as he enters his twilight years? I know it is sacrilegious to suggest that a footballer might place football over money and, well, lets face it, unlikely, but stranger things have happened haven't they?
  22. Young would be a great player for us, he is quality. But we have Amavi and Sinclair on the left and I think the right side is a bigger weakness. I would prefer to see us strengthen the right with an attacking midfielder or winger.
