  1. I'm still optimistic but It's all been a bit crap at the thought that it might go wrong.

I just saw a little lad in Chippenham with a Villa shirt, without a care in the world and a smile on his face. I'm taking a leaf out of his book. Positive thoughts fromnow on until there is a reason not to.

You want it to fail? That would be really bad for us as a club

In reference to the person you quoted. The only reason to want this to fail should be if it is dodgy not on the assumption it is dodgy.

The only likely positive outcome is if it goes ahead and it is all ok. Dodgy we are screwed and if falls through we are screwed as it would be difficult to resurrect another bid in a timely manner.

  3. Just listened to the interview I just posted again. Do you think it's just his English or do you think (probably with some consultation) he's going to go with Hollis/Lerner/Little/Bevington's choice?

I must be the only 1 who doesnt care about his other companies or how many of them he has.

He or is backers are obviously ambitious and wouldnt of bought us unless it made business sense. To make business sense we need to be back in the prem which is what we all want isnt it?

I don't think your on your own there. As long as there is money there and the club aren't going to be left badly in debt to someone dodgy then a lot of the details are irrelevant.

Its just at present, they are cause for concern and hopefully they are all explained. Although how much we'll actually find out ourselves I'm not sure.

At best it's some carelessness and miscommunication, the worst we don't know yet. Everyone's got there fingers crossed that Dr Xia does what he's said he will do.

number 4 is definitely a no no. 'Si the fourth tone' or 'Sit without the /t/' shares the same sound as 'death although with third tone'. Again because people believe in fortune-telling, we do not like this number.

Funny enough my mobile phone number in this country starts with 0744, Damn it.....

Any family back home must hate ringing you then, as it would be +44744........

  6. While some scepticism and caution is fine and I can see why people are worried.

We really need to wait and see what happens before firing off insults and getting the pitchforks and inflatables ready.

A little pressure for some clarity won’t hurt, but we just don’t know what is ahead, which a horrible position to be in is but that’s what it is.

yeah me too. His answer was interesting when the reporter asked if he would work for Dr Xia. He said he currently works for Randy but went on to say he likes the place now. Maybe he will join the board. Would love him to instead of Samuelson.

I'd be happy if he stayed in some capacity. It'd certainly be a big statement of intent from both The Doc and Hollis.

If Samuelson is to be a board member rather than just being involved in the deal, then I can't see this changing.

It's because of Hollis that I feel confident about Dr Tone, Hollis would know a crook when he sees one, yet he has complete admiration for Dr Tone - therefore I am more than happy to sack off any negative thoughts and fully support our Tony in all his plans.

I'm optimistic, excited and looking forward to what's ahead, although at the same time with a bit in the back of my head saying what if....

but as you say, Hollis is very experienced and has likely come across a heap dodgy people and blaggers trying to acquire business's he has worked with and should be able to spot them a mile off. He is successful at what he does and it would be a bit of career suicide if he got this wrong. So there should be some comfort in that.

I like how Hollis was asked if he would like to stay and he said hes grown to love the place. He thanked the fans for supporting the team that convinced Dr X to buy the club. Brought a tear to Hollis eye the way the fans were so positive that day. Its great to hear.

I don't know about Hollis but it certainly brought a tear to my eye when he talked about the fans against Newcastle. Well done to all that were there especially @markavfc40 and @dont_do_it_doug. and everyone else involved in organising the protests as that obviously had an impact on the day. Oh I also forgot to thank Newcastle for being nearly as crap as us.

Not to dampen the mood... But I'm keen to learn more about Dr. Tony before I get too excited.  That said... things couldn't get much worse.

One of the articles about him says he has been heavily involved in the urbanisation of rural areas. Without knowing too much about it, I think it has often been very contentious and will split opinion. As part of it he will have helped many poor people prosper but on the other hand there will have been those removed from their family ancestoryhome by force.

As for The Villa, it's very exciting to see what is going to happen over the next couple of months and beyond. Good times ahead hopefully. We may even win a few more than 3 and keep some clean sheets.

Am I the only one who thinks if all this gets done in just a few days then someone somewhere isn't doing their job right? I mean surely it takes more than a few days for the Football League to check if they are fit to run a football club?

On 5 live. Murphy did cover himself and said if not the end of the week. Certainly the end of the month.

I also think it has happened previously where a takeover had been announced subject to approval from the football league. So when it's done it still might not be quite done.

or the approval process may have already started possibly.

Its still pretty expensive for a championship club.

What has Pat Murphy said ? - Rumours that its not a consortium but a wealth individual ?

Yes, well he stated it as a fact rather than rumour but said the identity was being kept closely guarded.

Good to see that Pat 'the voice of Midlands football' Murphy is capable of quoting what's been on VT for days.....utter clown.

He has said it will be an individual, not a consortium or government backed. Which differs from everything else talked about recently.

Do you think him winning those awards are justified? I think he's a terrific player but I don't think he's had that good a season

The couple of Everton season ticket holders I know, have said he is the only player that than can come out of this season with some credit. Lukaku has got goals but if he's not scoring he's a waste of a player on the pitch. I was suprised at their views of Barkley as well, as they want to get rid as he constantly slows down attacks. I would think that this would be down to Martinez's style though as when I see Barkely he tends to be looking forward for runs and passes.

Alan Nixon has proven in the past he knows absolutely **** all to do with any club other than Blackburn Rovers. He has continually been wrong about everything else. Especially take over talk at The Villa.

I don't really understand his obsession with us. Maybe he sees us as easy bait, or just picked us out the hat. Can't claim to know everything about every club after all.

Yeah I think he had a bit of info on our summer transfer because he's friends with the Mckays.

If he knew much he could write an article on it or it would be such common knowledge among football journalists that someone else would have already.

  16. The only thing I can find is "Chinese group think they are doing it. How long to complete and pass the Football League tests .. unknown."

Which doesn't necessarily mean we are at the fit and proper person test stage, just that it needs to be done.

What stage is the fit and proper person test done? Is it pretty much when a deal is complete or in advance of that?

Tom Hanks on Desert Island Discs. Didn't mention the Villa.

    Part-time supporter.

I get pissed off whenever he's mentioned, there's always something about him being a Villa fan. It's probably been good publicity for the club but he's not really a fan is he. He probably couldn't name one player in the history of the club.
