Not a show but docu/film "AMY", all about Amy Whitehouse, on last Friday. Not a huge fan and I always said you can't live like that and not expect the reaper to come for you. But changed my views completely. She did not want the fame and anybody who watched this, an read the story, has to believe her Dad has to take a huge part of responsibility for her death. He loved the fame more than she did, an even put her in the spot light when on holiday. To me she was a young girl with serious talent, not thought of as a his young daughter by her father.

Yeah it didn't put him in a very good light, first saying there was no need for her to go to rehab early on, and then when she was trying to recover on holiday in the latter days, turning up with a film crew.

    There's a reason we haven't sold him I'd say.

Because Forest have got a Transfer embargo, I think he'll be off permanently at the end of the season

  3. I've had a bad cough since the end of September after lots of pestering I've booked an appointment. It's likely to be nothing apart from a cough that is just taking its time to shift but it's hardly going to help people like me who don't want to waste gp's time but sometimes probably should get things ruled out before it's too late.

It may be nightshift brain, but I originally parsed this as a herd of miniature brachiosaurses with the tails being their heads and necks.

It was longer than i'd like to admit before I realised

With the image being quite small on my phone, I thought the exact same thing, till I enlarged the pic.

What bugs me the most about his attitude is that most people seem to think it would be better for the team at the moment to play him at RB, yet he doesn't want to so it doesn't happen.

He doesn't say, I'm the captain, for the good of the team I'll play some games there to help stabilise the defence.

No more British rejects from top 4 clubs please, they have appalling spoilt brat attitudes, that we could do without.

Yes most people (fans) including me, think he would benefit us a lot at right back and he did sign to be a centre back back, but a bit harsh for your biggest bug to be something that he might not even have been asked to do, unless I've missed something. There's also a hell of a lot of running to do at right back so there might be medical reasons as well. If it was the case it'd certainly piss me off though.

My thoughts on his reaction to Wright has pissed me off though as it has come across he is looking after himself when he should be showing he's captain & pulling the team together, not saying it's not my fault that my team mates are crap.

I've tried Punk and enjoyed it, I've also tried a few and they've been revolting, they come across (to me) as an anarchist CAMRA group, making beers out of nettles and unicorn tears but at 15% so it's ok. I wish I liked their beer more.

I like quite a few, jack hammer is possibly my favourite of the regular ones. A shop by me was stocking some Tactical nuclear penguin but at £40+ a bottle, it could be an expensive novelty if it wasn't very nice.

BAYSWATER; TIPPERARY A former lawyer who sneaked into a woman's bedroom wearing fishnet stockings and a purple G-string has been cleared after he explained he thought she was a giant panda. Irish-born Desmond Moran, 53, claimed he had taken so many drugs that he thought the terrified woman was a big bear. Unfortunately he could not recall why he was dressed in women's underwear when he got into her Bayswater flat. The woman told the court she was sleeping in bed with her two children when she woke to Moran staring at her from the doorway.

So Apple are removing the 3.5mm socket from their next phones, forcing you to either buy new headphones or spend what will most likely be £30-50 on an adapter to use your old headphones? Apple are so anti-consumer, and this pisses me off. Even though it shouldn't because I've never bought their stuff and never will! The fact people completely lap it up is so annoying. I despise them as a business.

With the increase in popularity of Bluetooth headphones and speakers combined with problems as a result of crap getting in the socket it's not really a surprise though.

Fair point but that's 3 different workplaces over a 6 year period. I'm not trying to generalize a whole nation but I can only comment on what I have seen and experienced first hand.

it probably doesn't help that it's always been in manual labour jobs where they are basically hired to do jobs that are considered below other English people for minimum wage. Hardly an environment to flourish in.

From my experience you get some that just stick to their own polish social circle but on the whole I've found Polish women in this country easy to get on with. I've never had a proper relationship with any but a few have had the pleasure of my 16 stone on top of them.

It's also taken me to Gentleman's Dub Club too emoji1.png marvellous

Bands like GDC do so well, considering they get so little air play, certainly mainstream.

Both GDC and The Skints have done a couple of good show/podcast thingys on soundcloud recently.

    Agreed, when done properly.

I had it at the "German" market a couple of years ago and it was shite.
Thin sausage, crap french fries and chip shop curry sauce.

    Poor

I love currywurst, the worst I've had was in a German bar in London. It wasn't far off just sausage smothered in tomato ketchup.

Didn't know that but no alcohol available at Euro qualifiers.  Maybe it's games under UEFA's jurisdiction.

That said, alcohol was freely available and you could take it to your seat at Euro 2012.

Was it definitely alcoholic? I've been to England games in Europe where fans have been looking smug with themselves with litres of beer in the stand, not actually realising they've paid how ever much it was, for non alcoholic beer.

  13. I had a slight tear to my ACL a few years back. 4 months off work :/ Lets hope we have a young lad who can fill in until January as I have no hope in Richardson.

What does it feel like? How long before you could walk properly on it?

I ruptured mine flipping a golf cart :D and my 19 stone mate landing on my leg. I finished the round of golf playing the best I ever have. I just thought i'd twisted my knee and after a lot of swelling and several days limping I got over it and thought nothing of it. Over the next year or so every so often my knee buckled probably in a direction similar to Amavi, which again resulted in some swelling and a few days limping, eventually I thought I better get it checked out.

  14. I'd say his knee ligaments are ruptured too looking at that, I don't think we will see him again this season and possibly not the beginning of next season

Sadly, this is my fear too. Gutted.

I'm no doctor but I'd imagine it is very hard to disclocate a knee and not cause liagment damage. With or without disclocation my money would be on at least an ACL rupture :(

  15. I've dug this out instead of starting a new topic but...

Can anyone help me with some recommendations for London restaurants? I'm taking the Mrs to the theatre for her birthday so it would need to be Covent garden-ish ideally. Nothing that is going to empty my bank account, but she's bought a new dress for the occasion so nowhere where she's going to be overdressed either :D

  16. For me it's a 27 game season starting this weekend, and we need 36 points. We've got to be 100% behind him.

That is 9 wins, 9 draws and 9 defeats. That is a big ask IMO considering it's going to take him a few games to fully get his ideas across. I wonder if it's a step too far considering we've already dropped a lot of vital points from 'winnable' home games this season.

Could any of you see us winning 9, 10 or 11 games this season?

When you put it like that, it doesn't sound impossible. We would quite easily win one third of our games for the reason of the season. If we manage to string together a decent run from the Newcastle game onwards, we might be a decent part of the way there. I think its less likely we will get 9 draws - maybe 10 wins and and 6 draws is more realistic. Is it too early in the day to be drinking?!

Of course it isn't impossible, the gap at the moment is one that you would be hoping you could over turn in the last 6 games of the season let alone with only 1/4 gone. The problem is we've not looked like a team to this point who will win enough games. Hopefully it hasn't just been down to the quality of the players and we've now got a manager that knows what he is doing. I'm confident we will improve, just hope it doesn't take too long.
