I think it will best for both parties if Brad moves on.

Yes, I think Lambert, Sherwood and Garde all wanted to replace him. Which has in turn shot all his confidence. He was a half decent keeper, maybe he will be again with a fresh start but I don't see it happening here.

I don't get the fasenation with Dorrans, he had a good season many seasons ago but since has been pretty anonymous. Even as a championship team I'd be pretty underwhelmed if he were to sign.

I agree really, we were linked with him a few years back. Maybe the summer after West Brom got promoted back to the premier league. I think it was for a decent amount of money too. He had a really good season with them but I wasn't really sure about him then and his career since then, hasn't been too different to our decline as a club.

Some guy on Twitter claimed to have messaged The Doc on Weibo asking when it would be done and he replied "the 15th"

Read into that what you will. I read it as complete gentleman's reproductive organs.

The 15th you say? that date rings a bell.

Well after and long night at work, and for the first time since i started these shifts, i decided i fancied beer. Now I'm sat here with a beer in hand at 7am and it just feels wrong. I'm never going to get used to these bloody shifts.

It was only a 10-7 night shift but when I used to do them, afterwards I would either have a few beers or go to the gym. Then bed about 10.

Surprised he has stuck around as long as he has - given that he is on record as wanting a British manager, and weve appointed an Italian - with Italian coaching staff. It would seems his views were largley ignored. I don't see BL sticking around as a 'yes' man - he might stay short term, but I would be surprised if he was here come the turn of the year.

Do you not think the remit changed with the takeover? The call for an English manager (was this even quoted from Little or the footballing board?) was when we could be stuck with Lerner, coping with the crap in the squad and feeding of scraps.

Some things will be the same, but presuming Dr X is who he says he is then a lot has also changed.

Has Hitchins had any prior involvement or connections to Wyness/Samuelson/Banfil?

It would make much more sense, to me, that Xia has just trusted one of these guys to deal with the simple (and I mean SIMPLE, this is something that any dullard can do) matter of setting up a Limited Company, appointing the relevant directors and sorting out some form of shareholding. I'd find it strange if Xia was already involved with Hitchins, or if Xia himself found him.

Samuelson is mentioned on that token help/Bestfeed page

Guzan is the main and outstanding contributor to our downfall. He's appalling.

    Haha, really?!!

Yes he's been shit for a while, yes he needs to be replaced, but the main reason we are where we are?

Dave Benson-Phillips should not be amongst the also rans.

He was by far the biggest star in the house for years. We still have three of his videos, we don't have a VCR. His work on Fun Song Factory is legend.

The clown from eBay has raised a dispute, PayPal have pulled the money forcing it into a negative balance. Crooks, can't believe it's legal... And still the guy won't send me a picture of the problem... Last time I sell anything on eBay.

My girlfriend is always selling stuff on there, but recently she had sold a couple of things, but neither bidders paid for it after winning. One sent a message to say they'd pay after the weekend, but nothing happened. She put a case in after a while for both to say they hadn't paid. The one got back to my gf saying she was out of order not waiting longer. There was a bit of correspondence in which she called my gf a fat bitch and that she was going to call the police :crylaugh:

  10. I played nip the squid on Going Live.

I was also on National Lottery-winning lines

I've also cooked for Robert Plant, as well as some not so mega famous celebrities like Michaela Strachan, Dave Benson-Phillips, Nick Owen, Bob Holness and Glenn Tipton

  11. I thought it was a bit strange. Maybe she took voluntary redundancy? Probably a decent pay off for length of service.

I'm no expert on redundancy but if she was forced out, it wouldn't be possible for Villa to have a direct replacement in the same role for legal reasons. Although I guess there are ways around that to a degree.

  12. I'm one of the minority group that thinks he gets a bit too stick (well possibly, depending on circumstances). Some will disagree and it's hard to defend with how bad we were but the players we got in the summer aren't actually that bad and would look better amongst a new group of players. The big question is how much was down to him in relation to deciding what players we needed, and if he is thought we had been successful, because clearly we we missing 2-3 certain types players in the squad which we needed massively.

Surely it's Pat Murphy has been given the story for all his good work when the tabloids were being shits. Oh and Tony has announced it also so it is very official.

From the day of the takeover announcement, Pat Murphy has seemed the most informed.

So, if true, Di Matteo is turning down the club that finished 8th in the top league of his native country to manage the club that finished bottom of the top English league and will next season play in the second tier of English football. Interesting. Wonder what made him make that decision?

The food in England is better?

A difficult one to translate as it contains some words that are not commonly used. Trying my best:

    ‘最近切身感受英国的无良媒体信口开河程度比中国更甚。有人知道英媒的狗仔传统始于何时,谁是鼻祖? ’

Recently I got an experience of ’British Media talking about things that they have no evidence of‘, which is much worse than Chinese media (note he has had bad experience with Chinese media already). Anyone can tell me, when 'the tradition of paparazzi of British Media' started, and who the originator (of that tradition) is?

In China, we call those irresponsible sports journalists as 'those who will write a piece of sports news when they defecate in the loo', so defecator (if that is a word?)

Ah you beat me too it, make up for my previous post  I'd found a Chinese colleague to translate. Although he was finding it difficult to explain but said pretty much the same as you.

  17. I've followed Nantes as a European team since I was a kid going on Camping holidays to Western France. I wish they played this friendly 20 years ago, would have been an amazing start to my family summer holiday :D

I'll probably go to Bristol Rovers as thats pretty close for me.

No funds? Pretty sure it's already been documented that the funds have been transferred to a bank in England ready for the purchase.

Whether it's through these tests or by Villa, I'd like to think the checking of funds goes further than just the money to buy the club. Which I guess, should there be an issue this could be it and not necessarily that the money's not there just the transparency of where it is coming from. Hopefully Dr Xia can put some minds at rest when they speak to him, if it's even necessary.

I'm sure we already knew this? Think it was from a translated interview maybe?

Gregg Evans milking being back in good books with Villa. Bring back Kendrick!

Previously it was reported as a plan for the future. Now, at least according to the article he's actually in talks to buy a club somewhere.

  20. For some reason for a while now I've been thinking that Comolli might still be happening. Even though it was denied/played down at the time of the takeover announcement. I think Dr Xia has a plan to implement as soon as the takeover is confirmed and it's no coincidence he has mentioned the scouting network. His link just seems a strange one if he had no involvement at all.

I've been staring at that changing room pic trying to make out if the number 10 shirt could be Comolli. If it's not him I wouldn't be surprised if it is for someone who will be a director of football or in a similar role.

Roberto Di Matteo is on the brink of taking over at Aston Villa after further talks with chairman Steve Hollis today.
