    We could if we won a load of stuff over next 5/10 years..... Realistically that ain't happening with a load more revenue, though. Man City have obviously cooked the books, but they haven't cooked them so much that the vast majority of their revenue isn't the truth in 2024

    There is a difference between having no money (down to the owners) and having no money left for FFP. If we have to sell someone to comply for this season, then so be it, but no one knows that. Like the other guy said, almost everyone talking about FFP is talking about making a big profit on someone to create room for lots more spending on multiple players.

    I don't think any of our players want to go to Newcastle instead of here BUT your example is bad. If they sold a player with a big book value profit then they can buy our 100m player no problem and have loads FFP room left

    I have no idea if we have to sell to comply, I don't think anyone does. I am pretty sure we need to sell players with book value profits to buy though.

    That's it 5th minimum secured after today, no way they get 12 points more than us before the end of the season, pretty sure that makes this our best season for 30 years.

    The conditioning is a good point we have long paid lower than other fans. On your German model point, I agree. if you make so much money from stuff brought at the game and corporate stuff. there is an argument to building a very big stadium packing it with cheap tickets and selling us as a brand where the real money is made. alas unless you had a billionaire fan owner who literally is a died hard and doesn’t care about the money I don’t think that will ever happen.

    The solution has always been obvious, bonds. You want to go past your limits? Ok sign the 50m pound player, give him a 5 year deal on 10 million a year..... fine. But you are going to have to stump up 100m now in a bond that gets drawn down on to pay for the player. That way it doesn't matter and you can invest.
