  1. quite frankly i can't imagine a villa team taking to the field without him being in it!
  2. To do exactly what? more of the last 5 years dross.no thanks
  3. With all due respect this is delusional should you really believe he's better than Gill, Traore or Ayew. Not that I believe they are truly any great shakes but cleary they are on another level compared to him. IMO
  4. I'm not sure what his current clinical state is, however if fit and available then I am definitely in the let's do it camp. This guy has been amazing in the past and I struggle to understand why it hasn't worked out at either man Utd or Chelsea? It reminds me so much of the Torres scenario when he moved to Chelsea from Liverpool and nothing went right for him. On paper it suggests this would be a huge gamble, however on a short term deal, the promise of game time and no doubt a huge bonus should we do the unthinkable and survive then yes why not!
  5. For me there is some progress albeit not to the level that all of us would have wanted to have seen by now, however given the mess that we were in when Garde arrived I honestly believe the guy deserves to be given longer before he can truly be judged. I would love to be in the fortunate position to be able to ask the players what changes they have witnessed in training and routine and so forth and if they feel lmprovemts have been/are being made. I for one are backing him fully at the moment however I'm not sure he could withstand the backlash of relegation and fully expect to see another new face in charge come next August!
  6. Sorry I can't agree with your comments about Gabby, but 100% agree about Marc Albrighton who should never have been allowed to leave and in fact maybe just maybe could have helped get more of a tune out of Gestede.
  7. Or with respect you are underestimating how an increasing number of villa supporters are plain and simply fed up with this guy underperforming week in week out for such a significant period of time IMO
  8. Houllier only did one thing as far as Gabby is concerned. He saw right through him!
  9. With all due respect this is living in the past. Even in his so called pomp moments like this were few and far between and very unlikely to be seen to any level of consistency again IMO. I would also add that most players regardless of the level they are playing, have at some stage scored a spectacular goal. Times up I'm afraid way too many chances have been afforded to him and not taken. It's bye bye now.
  10. Managers very rarely do come out and say there's a problem, why would they? it just would not be in there best interest. However I do hope there is a problem and that Reme quite frankly does not fancy him and come 12.01am on 1-1-16 his Aston Villa career is done!
  11. Your kidding yourself he's never ever been prolific. I for one don't consider Scoring around 15 goals in a season prolific. And he wasn't the reason why we finished as you say 6th consecutively, this happened despite having him in the team, not because he was in the team. With all due respect your recalling what was a very limited past IMO. Lets just call it quits now, get rid and let's all move on.
  12. You are kidding yes? He's not even as good as Daryl Murphy let alone better than. Do you really think any town fan would wish to exchange a regular goal scoring centre forward for a mis-firing striker who doesn't look like he could buy a goal. GA has one attribute over Murphy and that's pace IMO
  13. I'll be majorly surprised if anyone wants to buy him, what on earth could he offer to anyone, run fast in a straight line, little else IMO
  14. Well not just yet, not until i see him empty his locker, collect his P45 from the wages clerk and put his car keys on the desk.Only then will l then allow myself a big smile and think to myself finally he's gone. Anyhow OBE you and Doug's silence on GA has been pretty deafening recently, have you come round to my way of thinking finally? :-)
  15. No nothing of the sort to be honest with you. Nothing more than an average fan who can spot a very ordinary professional footballer from the get go.
  16. Young and Carew yes please, Gabby no thanks I never rated him even in his so called pomp, I always knew these days would come.
  17. Ermm! Good point Stevo I hadn't thought of this, maybe I'll log onto the buying clubs fans forum, create an account and start up the crusade again
  18. Too many false dawns for my liking, will not believe it or be happy until I see this guy walk out of B6 with P45 in check!
  19. Stevo; I agree your probably right in all honesty, but actually the term impact player is wearing a little thin to be honest with you and kind of suggests he has something to offer in the first instance which in my view and an ever increasing number on here, he does not.
  20. You must be kidding right? I just can't comprehend that you think Suarez would not have had more touches of the ball than Agbonlahor did against the Spurs . Have you seen this man play? He has the appetite of 3 players, he probably gets more touches of the ball in a single game than Agbonlahor does in 3-4 games IMO

  22. No please don't stay with it. I'm refusing to give up on this debate. I don't care what anybody thinks in my view and yes I accept its a humble view this guy is a very very average professional footballer and should be no where the first team of ASTON VILLA FC in my opinion.
