Every single one of them gentlemen as well. Met them all at Bodymoor - that was when you could literally be waiting for them to come out of the changing rooms - have a chat, get a photo and so forth - Ron and co cared about their public.

Gosh I really think he did get more abuse than Bruce and for longer imo. Lambert is a good guy and very respectful - I hope he can reinvent himself at Ipswich in much the same way that launched his career with Norwich.

Absolutely 100% agree - Mcleish is a football man through and through - should never have taken our job and taint himself along the way - but hey we're Villa and when we come knocking not many say no - I agree he conducted himself in an admirable manner - Bruce take a leaf out of his book. I sincerely hope Mcleish does get another shot somewhere in England. This said I cannot lie - I rejoiced the day he left - but not as much as the day Bruce left.

Personally TRO I would not rest anyone unless they are carrying an injury - right now the players are enjoying themselves and probably can't wait for the next game - I would not jeopardise momentum or confidence based upon ifs, buts and maybe. I also think it unlikely anyone would appreciate a rest - in case someone comes in and performs even better

Again I agree to a point - but the moment you call out your own fans, the game is over and will only go one way unless you are constantly winning football matches - the guy is too much in love with himself and his own recommendations imo TRO

Great post as always TRO - but for me the song remains the same. 1 goal might as well have been 20 - Bruce was tasked with gaining promotion and he failed - which was pretty miserable imo. My overview of his tenure is this could and should have done better - and his cheap shots at his own public will linger for some time.

Really TRO ? I thought he did a dreadful job, given what was available to him throughout his tenure. Can you just imagine where we would be if he was still here ?

To be fair - I'm sure sure hippo is not saying he wasn't behind Deano from the start - just that he maybe had some doubts regarding his suitability for the post - which I think in fairness others also expressed these thoughts.

Let's hope he starts with the same mentality that he showed when coming on against Rotherham - if he does - this will go a significant way to negating Tammy's absence.

Personally I would urge caution here - it's not so long ago that we were abject without Jack. yes I acknowledge that currently the team is playing with confidence and momentum that will compensate for Jack not being present in the short term - but I would not want to be without him for another game. You only have to look at how he started and finished the move for his goal on Wednesday to confirm his importance to the team. Imo
