  1. I'm a fan of his and on his day he is without any question our best wideman and match winner and I would not be in the least bit surprised if he does just this on Tuesday. I really hope we sign him permanently as I think he has huge potential - but like most wingers he can also be extremely frustrating in equal measure - but in my view he is streets ahead of both Green and Adomah.
  2. Personally I was dissapointed with him today - however like most wingers he has he ability to win the game on his own come Tuesday
  3. Absolutely this - he is limited for sure, however in fairness he has helped us get to the play offs - but not for one second do I expect us to go looking to defend at Sandwell - and for this reason I think we should play Conor.
  4. At last some common sense in this thread - I have been majorly surprised this thread has derailed in the way it has been.
  5. I'm kind of struggling with this tbh. Would you care to repost who has excused Hogan's performances or as you say has afforded millions of chances to him ? maybe I was off line ? But seriously I can't recall anyone doing this - certainly not for any significant period of time.
  6. Whilst they will never be a massive club - the canaries are not a small club either - they were matching Leeds for crowds a couple of years ago. They are the epitome of a good club, run well and never get ahead of themselves. As far back as I can recall - they have tried to play football in the right manner and I for one wish them well.
  7. I am totally delighted to have made the play offs and regardless of how we fare - I am looking forward to next season with Dean Smith at the helm. He will need all of his experience and contacts to replace Jack - but I have faith that he will take us back to the prem automatically - should we miss out this year.
  8. Not in the slightest - I literally have no defence to make of Scott Hogans footballing ability or lack of it whatsoever - probably like you I am extremely disappointed that a player who cost a significant amount of money has performed so poorly. My point is this - is it necessary to constantly criticise a player who has done nothing but try his best only to ultimately fall short of the level required at Aston Villa - would you not agree this point has been done enough now?
  9. You really are missing my point. what I am saying is this - there are a small number on here - who have spent a long time bashing Scott every time his name gets mentioned - sure they might say something along the lines of him being a good pro - but only after calling him a sh-t football player - this is the very essence of my point - why feel the need to do this? We all know that Scott has not achieved here and will be moving on - some might say to continue to keep knocking the guy for his lack of ability could fall under the heading of obsessive - would you not agree?
  10. I have no intention of doing so - but it would not be a difficult task to copy and paste posts simply slating his footballing ability - I feel sure you would be more than happy to acknowledge your participation in this?
  11. You are completely missing the point - can I just reiterate that I am not sticking up for Scott as a footballer - or his ability, but I do question why some people feel the need to bash him every time his name is mentioned. As for you know who - we both know he went missing for five seasons in a row and had an appalling attitude towards the club/fans. you cannot level this towards Scott Hogan - and this alone forms the basis of my point - nothing to do with ability - he is a villa player who simply tries his best and has never disrespected the shirt. He should be allowed to move on with dignity and let's just acknowledge that this is one that never worked out on both sides.
  12. 100% this - I just don't get the vitriol that comes his way. It just seems all very bizarre to me.
  13. Absolutely DDID - having experienced mental health issues myself I can say that it effects everyone differently and maybe this is why Stan never became the World class footballer that he potentially could have been? Regardless I still looked for his name on the team shirt first. quite simply when on his A game he was unplayable and terrified defenders and set VP Rocking.
  14. Personally I believe him to be our most gifted striker - however without the mentality to match, it means diddly squat. I mentioned the other day that Kod reminds me of Stanley Victor a man who had everything in his locker to become a potentially world class footballer except of course ? You know the rest.
  15. If true - this would represent a good sale - despite our initial outlay on him. Regardless of his ability or lack of - depending which camp you are in I for one wish him well.
  16. Yes that's the whole point - Gabby was rubbish in my view and went missing for 5 season - yet still got lauded. His professionalism was appalling. Scotts is not and he gets battered from pillar to post. This is the crux of the matter - not abilities.
  17. I think you are missing the point with due respect - this is no longer a debate on Scotts ability - this has Been done enough - it's moreover about the same few who think they are enlighting us with their same continued criticism of Scott. I don't need these people to tell me who can play and who can't. I just think they should get over themselves - Scott won't be with us much longer - at least give him the credit his professionalism deserves eh?
  18. What I'm not expecting is to read the same old vitriol every time his name is mentioned to be honest. Yes we know the views of certain people regarding Hogan's ability - do they really need to keep telling us exactly what they think of him ? I'm not defending Scotts record here - far from it - but the way some react towards him - you would think he is Gabby/Richards/ Zog/McCormack roiled into one - Scott does try and appears to be a good pro - for this alone he does not deserve the abuse he gets - in my humble opinion anyway.
  19. I find it very sad that certain people are ready to jump into this unbelievable thread every time it gets bumped. The same people who have already forgotten about an ex striker who went missing for 5 seasons and stuck up two fingers to the clubs relegation fight - clearly less than distinctly average I would suggest. we all know that Scott is no Brian little or Gary Shaw - but he does try. He didn't ask for a £12 million price tag to be put on his head or to be bought by a clown of a manager - when Aston Villa coming knocking at this level - who says no? I have felt for a long time that Scott will end up back at Brentford - most likely next season after Maupay is sold - he will then again get his fair share of goals - he won't be prolific but will get his share. Some times a club is just too big for an individual and I feel this is a classic case in point - but that's no reason to jump on him everytime his name gets mentioned on here.
  20. Andy Gray - oh my days, if you could put just 20% of Andy's mentality into Kodjia - boy would we have a player on our hands
  21. Maybe the play off final - if Tammy is not fit - fingers and toes crossed.
  22. I think your just saying the same as I am TRO - very talented footballer just doesn't make the most of it - step forward Stanley Victor Mk2
  23. I think this is a big call - personally I like him and defo want us to sign him - however wingers are historically inconsistent throughout their careers apart from the very elite - which I don't think Anwar is to be honest with you. He might well perform better in the premier league with less hustle and bustle to knock him out of his groove - but I can't help but think he will be one of those who infuriate and excite in the same breath.
  24. If Tammy is out of the play - offs then I would definitely play Kod - yes he is moody, sulky and so forth - he is also a big game player - he has things in his locker that neither Tammy or Davis have, I can just imagine him chomping at the bit for a slice of Wembley glory - he has the x- factor - just not consistency to match imo
