  1. The point that Borson has made about this, again as I understand it, is if they are likely to be perceived as having sold these properties at fair market value then why haven't they been given the permission yet. It's not like it should be incredibly hard to work out what a fair value of two hotels is, it's not like that's some esoteric accounting that requires a phd to resolve.
  2. Yes, and frankly we shouldn't have been able to do it either. There is a rule as I understand it that you need to get permission from the league to count related-party transactions towards PSR calculations, and seemingly they still do not actually have that permission for selling those hotels to themselves last season; presumably they don't have it for this transaction either.
  3. What I mean is that their formation doesn't work, but the manager sticks with it *because it's how he wants them to play*. There are dozens of tactical analyses of their style of play, but I think this one is good and clear: The TL,DR gist is that they press really high (which they are very good at) and defend very deep, which leaves their midfielders with masses of ground to cover, which would be a problem no matter who they had in midfield, but is especially a problem when their most common midfield consists of Casemiro (who can't run any more), Fernandes (who can't tackle) and then a 19-year-old Mainoo who is essentially the main person responsible for patrolling about 60 yards of empty space. He could change this, but note that he never actually does. If I ask who these 'bad apples' are, you're going to tell me it's Rashford, and the evidence for that is that he doesn't track back, which is largely true, and is a problem because it puts a lot of pressure on the left back and both their actual left backs have been injured all season. But he could also compensate for that in the system; he could play Amrabat (a predominantly left-sided defensive midfielder) more often, but he doesn't. But also regardless of that, Rashford has barely played for about six weeks and it's not like they're better. The defensive unit against Palace was Wan-Bissaka, Casemiro, Evans, Dalot (and Onana) behind Eriksen and Mainoo. Who are the 'bad apples' in that group? None of those players are notoriously lazy or problem characters, they're just players playing in a stupid system that doesn't work and can't do the role they're being asked to do.
  4. I can't agree with this. They don't concede more shots per 90 than anyone bar Sheff Utd because of 'bad apples', it's because they're set up horrifically.
  5. Talking about selling assets, per Companies House, they're selling Cobham to themselves: If they're allowed to get away with this by the PL then really what is the point of any financial restrictions at all.
  6. We didn't win it, that's true, but we did get a lot further than we will in the Champions League.
  7. For precisely that reason, I would in many ways rather finish 5th. I know PSR dictates I'm not allowed to feel that way, but frankly I do.
  8. The latest game in that list is the 19th of February. They haven't played City in March April or May and it's a different ball game. We beat City earlier this season ourselves, but we wouldn't beat them if we played them now.
  9. I don't know how anyone could watch City on the one hand, almost certainly needing a win to win the title, and then watch Spurs barely getting past Burnley, and doubt that City are going to win. They just win, it's what they do, and Spurs are mere cannon fodder.
  10. Iheanacho didn't do much in the Championship this season. Played more than half as many minutes as Vardy, but only got about 30% as many goals. I really liked him 2-3 seasons ago but I feel like he always flatters to deceive (unless he's playing us, obviously!).
  11. If we were to lose Duran, how would people feel about Elijah Adebayo? Has impressed me when I've watched Luton - he's way better than the rest of the team, and Edwards should have played him more at the start of the season - and has a better goals-per-minute ratio than anyone in the league except Haaland and Jota. Probably a stupid idea, but I enjoy watching him anyway!
  12. TBF, he's not wrong that winning that football match has made our form over the last 6 games look better than it would have done if we'd lost it.
  13. I wonder if he ever regrets the Dendoncker loan at all. It's been completely pointless - has he played even a single minute? - and it feels like we've been left very light in central midfield. Of course no-one could predict Kamara getting a season-ending injury, but it hasn't taken much in the way of injury or suspension to leave us with no fresh options whatsoever.
  14. It's not about what we've achieved (a huge amount), it's about how we look dead on our feet and have been very poor for three games in a row. Tiredness isn't an excuse, it's just a fact. We're gassed.
  15. Is it possible that Lewis Miley is just uncommonly good, and that none of our youth players are equivalent?
  16. If 67 points is enough, we finish 4th. If it isn't, we finish 5th. We're done for the season IMO, this team doesn't look remotely like getting anything off Liverpool or Palace.
  17. There aren't 'random punishments and appeals' happening. All of the cases have happened for a reason, and in each case a judgement has been published explaining in painstaking detail how they reached the verdict they reached. Every time I've read these they've been logical, and seem to be the outcome of a good-faith effort to find a balance between enforcing the rules and accepting legitimate mitigations. On the other hand, I would absolutely agree that the way the media has talked about these cases very much gives the impression that there are 'random punishments and appeals happening all over the place', and that is what has doomed PSR: it has no legitimacy in the eyes of fans because media have misinformed fans, and because fans don't care enough to find out for themselves. For all the moaning about people breaking the rules, it turns out the only thing fans hate more than clubs doing the crime is anyone being punished for them later.
  18. Rubbish. Rubbish. Rubbish.
  19. He's not wrong, that is very literally unbelievable.
