It wouldn't have been the only reason though. As Man City put us under the cosh and legs got tired you do naturally start playing too deep. I'm not sure about Senderos, Clark or Westwood but I was shouting for them too push out and much quicker. I think it would have happened anyway just Beneteke is the obvious outlet who can get the ball and keep onto for a bit.Why were you shouting for Clark to push out? We don't need to increase his wages until he proves that he is fit enough to last the season.

Ron is a great Clubman. Hope he can piece together a good spell in the team. We need a settled back four and have chopped and changed for what seems like ages.

I think that the view some hold, showing a lack of belief that all will be well when players return, is down to the historic problem that we have with injuries. We seem to have more than our fair share.

The past two games, the opposition could have played with no goalkeeper and we still would not have scored. We really are pinning our hopes on Benteke coming back like he used to be and keeping fit for long periods. The same goes for Vlaar, if only to bolster his transfer value.

Bugger. Any news on how long he might be? He was 50/50 last week, so still being out a week later suggests that he's either had a set back or it's more than originally thought (or we didn't want Liverpool to know he was out as they'd plan to exploit a weaker defence, which Arsenal now know is actually quite solid). Vlaar was obviously in difficulties at the Hull match but it was hushed up. Nobody has come in for him, probably because he has a bad injury record. Great bloke but sustains injuries on a regular basis.

We need aggression and passion on the pitch to get the crowd wound up. 27k can make more noise than 40k, particularly as the larger the crowd, the more moaners get in.

I seem to remember Benteke getting slagged off for missing 'sitters' when he came.
