  1. Well if you can't be arsed to read the Premier League transfer spendings or the league table, this thread might have to do. Your mates are slow with their 'likes'. I don't need to read waffle to tell me how my team are performing. I can see it with my own eyes.
  2. Trips to Manchester are among my favourites, mainly for the beer, in some excellent pubs far from all the pillocks chucking lager about.
  3. Add to that, joint best start to a premier league campaign ever and 4 clean sheets out of 8 away games and there is definitely positives to be taken so far this season. Joint best start out of how many games?
  4. I must remember to read this thread next time I come away from a poor game. It must all be in my mind.
  5. Of course it isn't the views of people sitting at keyboards that matter. It is the numbers going through the turnstiles that are a true barometer of satisfaction. Those overseas or otherwise unable to attend must be frustrated at this. In the meantime, we need more in the ground on Sunday to roar us to victory.
  6. To get me on side: Finish 10th-12th A good cup run (not knocked out to Accrington Stanley, 4-0 at home) A playing style to take shape. The one thing I don't care at all about is Cup runs. Seriously I don't care about them at all. Don't even watch Cup games. Pointless to me until we've stability in the league and upward progress. I hope we get knocked out of the FA Cup early. You won't be wanting a spare ticket if we get to a Final then?
  7. The superb nature of that goal takes my mind away from any negative aspects of the game. It was absolutely top drawer.
  8. This is why people who have a bit of knowledge tend to go to ground. The pompous and very cliquey crowd on another forum were known to get very rattled when told information, such as the imminent departure of O'Neill, if I remember correctly. Keane had already marked our card that he may be leaving. I don't think he ever enjoyed his time here. I expected more from Keane and was delighted to see him go.
  9. We were chanting Alan Hutton's name towards the end last night. He got rapturous applause and led the other players over at the final whistle. There was also a rendition of Alan Hutton, to the chorus of 500 Miles, while heavy bladders were being emptied after the game. His was a top performance once again.
  10. Except you are happy that he runs it by email and phone calls. It is because of this poor management that what I wrote after the first two sentences becomes appropriate. The General is still down as a non-exec Director. Are you happy with him in that post, by the way? It might as well be a fictitious Board. The Board Room must have justone chair in it and be inches deep in dust.
  11. If he was in the limelight he would not have let this situation fester. I imagine him sitting at home and hearing that we are losing then saying 'f*** that' and turning the radio/tv/computer off or pulling the sheets over his head, hoping it was just a bad dream. Whatever he is doing is not in the best interests of the club. It may be in the interests of his pocket, by not wanting to pay Lambert compensation but the tipping point has been reached. His investment is shot. He can't salvage it now unless he is very lucky and that will take more investment. Its like someone hoping to keep throwing a double six. Gamble after gamble, most of them lost. It is time for hands on management. Seeing everyone pitch in during a crisis gives a warm glow. We haven't got that.
  12. Very good post, in my opinion. I was against Lerner hiding away from the start. It is no way to run any business. Well that's nonsense. I'm not saying Lerner is doing a good job. But the problem isn't that he's "hiding away" I'd rather have a chairman who is media shy than a chairman like Dave Whelan who can't help talking to every media outlet there is. I'd just prefer it if the Chairman ran the club a bit better whilst he was "hiding away" Why does he never speak out? Why is he rarely at a game? Sorry, it is not nonsense. Trying to throw the Dave Whelan comparison in does not help the discussion. He may soon be proven to be not fit and proper for the position. Lerner is not a good leader. This leads to anarchy within the ranks and it is no wonder that so many people say that the club is rotten from top to bottom.
  13. Very good post, in my opinion. I was against Lerner hiding away from the start. It is no way to run any business.
  14. So if Mcleish was manager of Chelsea they would be challenging for the title????? Any excuse to have a dig at McLeish. Save your energy for the incompetent buffoon that is currently in charge.
  15. What's f*** all to do with Vlaar being injured?
  16. Also important to note that we are crap at home.
  17. We are just a nursing home for these clearings in the woods.
  18. Woohoo. The four year deal means nothing to us. We don't even know if it is a four year deal. Lerner can sack Lambert any time he likes. Personally, I wish Lerner would sell the club but there is little hope of that at the moment.
  19. We were playing Burnley and they are a very poor team, they will be back in the championship next season. We still couldn't beat them. Lambert has to go. Why can't he just try to play two halves attacking the opponents? What needs to be understood is that, even if we do eventually win a game, it doesn't mean that all our troubles are over. We won't suddenly have broken out of this malaise. It is not nice wishing somebody to get sacked (although it is a bit different to a normal person losing their job). I like a manager to get excited on the touchline and charge up and down when we score. Lambert has done that and likes his job but why doesn't he try to preserve his position and save his pride. Attack, attack, attack! It is the solution now the defence id sorted.
  20. I agree. Can't see him being here too long.
  21. There are clearly too many, who haven't seen the game, jumping on various bandwagons. It was a better performance, particularly in the first half. Good passing but we sit too deep. That's Lambert's fault. You have to make the best of your resources and we don't. Weimann should be sniffing around the edge of the area but he is restrained.
  22. If the manager is not culpable for what happens on a football pitch why does any manager ever get the sack? Infact, what's the point in having a manager? How can you make a manager accountable for a player who gives away a penalty? That is one of the most ridiculous opinions I've ever heard. If we'd won would you give Lambert credit? The manager deserves credit for our approach to the game regardless, we tried to win the game and played some great stuff. We lost because of an individual error not because of the manager. We lost eh?
  23. is it a club policy? Of the examples you have quoted there is only actually one time we have got a poor player for a good one. Vlaar is nearly always injured. Cleverley was very good today; easily one of our best players. What use is Vlaar, almost permanently lying on a couch having treatment.?
  24. Total bunkum. It is nothing whatsoever to do with Bent.
