Li owns Baidu which is the Chinese equivalent to Google, and apparently Baidu's meaning in Chinese is very similar to the Wolves motto 'out of the darkness comes the light'.
  2. Never seen him play but it was Clarke who brought him into the first team at Reading. I've seen a few references to him having steal and being tough tackling. Was apparently very impressive on loan at Hartlepool, when he joined they looked certain for relegation, and played a big part in helping them stay up.

It was Gianluca Di Marzio who linked us with Mendes, according to him he knows our owners. We were being linked with an highly rated Ajax winger who's one of Mendes clients.

I'd never heard of him to be honest, shows how out of touch I am, if he was the Porto boss. Apparently he was being linked with the Spain job. If he does go to Wolves, it will probably be seen as a coup. He's meant to have a few Portugese players lined up for them, including Ivan Cavaleiro.
  5. According to teamtalk we've bid £5m for Tshibola.

Guillem Balague Verified account ‏@GuillemBalague 6m6 minutes ago On @OfficialWolves and the possible takeover. Two of the best known/most powerful agents behind negotiations: Carlos Bucero and Jorge Mendes And on the rumoured new manager (Lopetegui) Julen has rejected offers from La Liga clubs because of the exciting possibility of becoming a powerful coach/manager with @OfficialWolves
  7. With the players we've bought, been linked to, the stories of players wanting to make amends for last season and the promotion of youth players to first team training, I'm starting to think that we won't be doing that much business, maybe three or four signings.
  8. They've been taken over by 'Trillion Trophy Asia' as far as I'm aware, but it seems to be a bit more complicated than the Villa takeover (I think the buyout might be a bit staggered), but it's definitely happened/happening. They've been promised ten million to spend, but won't see it until January. As for Jack Mu buying Albion that's proven to be not true apparently, or at least the 'article' that started the rumours has proven to be a hoax. he still might buy them but it would be a massive coincident. But John Percy (for what it's worth) has said when asked about transfers that Albion have more pressing issues, and then reffered to a potential takeover. Whoever bys who I'm sure Xia will have us competing.
  9. Nothing's happened yet, it's all just rumours. And know one really knows what Xia/Recon are worth, but the more I hear, especially from Wyness the more I think we'll at least be competitive relative to our immediate goals, in terms of spending.
  10. The rumours are that Jack Mu is buying Albion and Robin Li owner of Baidu search engine, Wolves. I don't know if those names are right, but it does seem that something's going on at both clubs, and reports in Spain are suggesting that Wolves are getting Julen Lopetegui to manage them. If those takeovers do go through then that will be Villa, sha, Wolves and Albion who've all had Chinese takeovers this summer. We might have some competition in our quest to be the most popular team in the Far East.
  11. Which ever way you wrap it up, we need a new striker asap.
  12. I've wanted Gestede to do well, next season, ever since I saw the pictures of him feeding the homeless, he also actually apologised for getting relegated via his instagram.
  13. The type of football that it would take to get the best out of Gestede, isn't the type of football that get's you out of the Championship, these days. And he's not good enough for us to be building our team around him.
  14. I used to get her mixed up with another TV presenter, Dr Alice Roberts.
  15. I always thought this was an underrated britpop song...
  16. He's not those players, but doesn't make him a pub player, or any of the other descriptions that were being used to describe him. I'm not saying he's good or bad, just that he has a goodish goal scoring record.
  17. I never argued that he had ability, as I said at the time, that was the only time I've seen him play. All I was saying was that I didn't think he was as bad, on the night, as people were making out. And given the names he was being called, I was surprised when I looked it up, that he has a pretty decent goalscoring record.
  18. Some judging him on his appearence, is the feeling that I got.
  19. I'm not watching the game. People called Gignac names after the last game, he wasn't as bad as all that, and his goal scoring records suggest so too.
  20. In terms of winning the whole tournament Greece was probably a bigger surprise. Of course England were the favourites and Iceland beating them was an upset of sorts. England should be disappointed with their performance on the night whoever the oppostion.
  21. It's surprising that they're as good as they are (not amazing but competitive) given the country's low population. But before they played England they proved that they can be competitve against teams of similar standing to England.
  22. Surely in the history of the competition there has to be a bigger surprise than Iceland beating England, given Iceland's form coming into the competition. Them getting thrashed the way they are tonight isn't the norm.
  23. Don't know, my guess was Leonardo but maybe a bit unrealistic. Marco Branca who was at Inter, is also available.
  24. With that said real homie, I'd say that France beating Iceland in the fashion that they are, is if anything a bigger shock than it is Iceland beating England.
