  1. OK AWOL, Lets call it £30 billion for Trident, we have a £37 Billion hole, scrapping it fills a hell of a chunk of that hole. Independent nuclear deterrent, against whom. If we're worried about "The Islamic Bomb" worry about it but they have no credible delivery system to getvit to the UK so what exactly are we worrying about. Lets say thay start to develop a delivery system to worry about, fine we've already got the technology we can respond to that threat quicker than they can develop it. Ok so you don't have these issues where it's warm and sunny with a benevolent dicatorship but we do and we need to sort it and, unlike every political party in the country, I've suggested a way to fix the problem. Won't happen as having a seat on the UN Security Council fills to big an ego need for politicians
  2. Well one obvious way would be to let the banks have free reign for a while and coin it in .. but just make sure we put some legislation in once they've done it so they don't **** us all again :-) Or........... Just a thought. Don't spend the planned £100 Billion on Tridents replacement, find something cheaper MHmmmmmmmmmm
  3. Surely they get permission to get Hart back from bannishment to the temple of Doom
  4. Got this on Twitter, Couldn't resist http://ow.ly/i/1g5M
  5. Given a choice of allies it's usually best to side with the one that will bomb and strafe their allies rather than not turn up. Edited for accuracy :winkold:
  6. Season Ticket £495 Petrol to Game £30 Beating THEM by a dodgy penalty.............Priceless
  7. First 30 to 40 minutes were new, after that it was basically a repeat of last week
  8. Unless he sends "the lads" round Jon, long distance of course but you are closer than the rest of us
  9. Personal report card for last night, in alphabetic order. Brown, Started a lot brighter and better but tailed off badly near the end into standard Gordo mode. Cameron, Seems to be still searching for the glib phrase or slogan which will stick and win him the election, not performing to standard expected. Clegg, Came across as probably the most honest but struggled and will struggle to match the hype of last week Moderator, Not a patch on Alastair Stewart
  10. Their share of vote in the polls has risen by over 10% since the TV debate so you can see why that conclusion could be reached though ..though for it's sins VT has always had a lib dem slant to it until recently I couldn't really have told you what the lib dems policies were but since the debate it's caused me to look closer Localised immigration policy in my opinion wouldn't work and i'm not sure about the libs VAT on new houses either ... as my sky poll results showed I'm not adverse to one or two of their policies ..but there are some that really do need to be questioned So, no different to all the other parties basically
  11. the red shirts were throwing them at the police recently in BKK as i recall l TBH Prescott should have been booted from the party for that it isn't really anything to be proud of however much the egg thrower deserved it , Politicans should act with dignity (yeah ,I know they don't) but for the deputy leader of a major party to act like that was qute shameful .. Prize to Tony, You managed to get dignity and politician in the same sentence without breaking into hysterical laughter Well done that man
  12. No they wont as you'll be drowned out by the abuse emanating from the Upper Holte :winkold: And Mantis, the atmosphere is electric but I don't think it'll ever gat as bad as the first one after they qualified fro the prem, that was EVIL, and I've been to Old Firm games
  13. Sorry Tony, you (and "Dave") need to do better than that Vote for someone just because they're not someone else. Nick Griffin anyone - he's not Brown either so why not him rather than Dave, we get the same result - no Gordo and that seems to be what you want
  14. meh .. they should require at least 146% of the vote to come first I don't see why that's so difficult, Mugabe managed it. Really Mike, Bobs vote was that low, the opposition must have had a good campaign :winkold:
  15. I suspect Tony, they'd actually need to be leading in the polls to end up second and would basically need somewher over 80% to come first. Stupid and ridiculous, but then again it's UK politics
  16. Excellent question Ash, C'mon BOF we need to be told
  17. I can't help it and Tony will hate it but as it started last night I looked at the 3 of them and thought "bloody hell Cameron looks just like Lord Snooty from the Beano" and the wife agreed so photo attached for others to decide. Winners, Clegg for style and a bit of content and Gordo did better than I thiught he would but still a bit "Lecturer". Cameron actually seemed shifty at times which was very unexpected.
  18. Mods, Can we start a poll. simple yes or no We'd all rather see Tony and Drat on a televised debate than the 3 we're going to get tonight (tonite for our American chums)
  19. I have abused you too many times to mention but I have to say on reading the above RESPECT
  20. Have we actually discovered what any of them stand FOR yet or is it still we're not the other guys
  21. so it seems the first contender for Gordon's job has shown his hand So how do labourites fancy Ed Balls as party leader ? I thought you were stopping telling funnies on here as that's the most ridiculous thought I've seen for a long time
  22. Apart from having an Old Trafford season ticket holding mate I'm voting for Mancheter United as anyone who gets one over on the Scousers and their perpetual whining gets my vote
  23. How can you, you think Dave is brilliant :winkold:
