This is the most precarious situation this club has been in in my time. Virtually no owner suspended coaching staff losing one of our hungrier/better players today Our best player out until???? No confidence/ability within the squad And now a manager with no confidence and talking in riddles. The journey ahead is gonna be rocky, but at least it won't be dull (apart from the actual footie).

Whatever happens over the summer it's gonna be an interesting season. It could be a season of pure survival from beginning to end with emphasis on uberhoofball ala Big Sam style.

Why does losing him to Leicester shown how far we've fallen? They've just been promoted and already have a shit load of cash to spend. There's no point overpaying for players when we're in this situation - even more so on someone as one-dimenson as Marc. Maybe it's because so many of our other players appear to have no dimensions.

I don't know, ordinary people in this country seem to think it's fine to pay half a million quid and more for a tiny bit of land and a pile of bricks that cost a tenth of that to assemble.

Who was the last manager to leave Villa and go on to do just as well or better elsewhere? Ron Saunders. He went on to relegate Small Heath and the Baggies. Top drawer in my book.

Marc can actually do the one thing no one else in our (fit) squad can - contrary to some opinions he can actually beat players. He can't do it with pace most of the time but he can with industry, tenacity and a little bit of ability. He needs to be cut some slack.

Yeah, apart from the last 9 games when he started 6 times and was mostly crap pre-Cardiff. Wow.... 6 starts. Such a shame everyone else was playing so brilliantly and we weren't missing any width at all.

If I were Marc and Lambert sticks around I would bugger off. It didn't seem to matter what he did (and others didn't) he couldn't get a run of games.

as much as i don't want to admit it i think there's something in this. His hand was forced statementwise. how was his hand forced exactly? we're pretty used to being utterly terrible by now, what changed exactly? The natives were restless and the rumours from the fans and press too much to handle.... that filters through to the managing staff and players and before you know it your silent position is not only untenable, it's actually counter-productive. Especially to a potential buyer looking in. I'm not saying I'm right, I'm saying daz316 could be.

i took that as - i stayed at villa so i could be 1st choice and score some goals in a world cup year and make sure i got in the squad - and that bit means he had every intention of leaving this summer im just going for new owners, blessing in disguise, by the time he's back he'll have to get falcao out of the team...

I'm sure Al Fayed was trying to flog Fulham for ages. Turned out that when he found a buyer they got relegated anyway. Anyone with any sense knows that was due to the curse of the Jackson Statue being torn down. Maybe we should reserect it in the Villa tunnel to ward off relegation - a couple of kiddies can wheel him out at half time..
