am I the only one who is more interested in where I am going rather than where I have been???? in either case it aint far

my pub has been taken over its my local pub and its literally a 1 minute walk from where I live, its got a bad reputation which stops people coming in (it works in our favor cuz everyone in there knows each other and strangers are more than welcome but the trouble makers don't normally come in), its an orrible old pub but the atmosphere is always cracking in there, there has been no problem in there for at least 3 years and we always have a good crack on a Friday night. last week a load of...I don't know what you call them, chavs? scally's came in, all late 20's early 30's and as soon as they walked in you could feel the atmosphere change, they were looking for a scrap. tonight I go in there and see a kid I haven't seen in years and I know he is a prick of the highest order, 20 minutes after him all of his mates come in, 20 minutes after they come in a fight nearly breaks out. nothing actually happened but I wont be going in there for a few weeks, you know they are only in there because they have been kicked out of every other pub in the area. feel pretty shit now, that was like my safe haven but now I think I would rather avoid them types and stay away from them rather than stay around until it kicks off. any way I am sitting down now watching quatermass and the pit with a can of stella waiting for my meal to be delivered

Is it good? I'll have to wait untill May before the swedish edition is out. YeAh it's really good but I would recommend giving yourself a little refresher on the passage before reading it, some of the characters took a while to get them back in my head if you get me. It's pretty different to the first book but I haven't found that this one drags as much as the passage did, at times I struggled with that to be honest even though I thought it was brilliant lol It wasn't that long ago that I read it so I don't think it'll be a problem. It was a bit slow at times, but very good. Loved it. I finished this last night. A few things I will say about it It flows a lot easier than the last one and he has toned down that kind of poetic style of description that he used in the first book which is probably why this one is only 500 pages instead of the passages 700. The intertwining stories work well but can be pretty confusing trying to remember who is who. Amy isn't as much of a predominant figure in the book and I thought she actually came across as one of the weaker characters in it. Some parts seem to have been lifted directly from the stand by Stephen King also to save you getting lost with the characters THERE IS A GUIDE AT THE BACK OF THE BOOK TO TELL YOU WHO IS WHO...jesus H christ I could have done with knowing that before I got the end and found it

supposed true story, there is quite a bit of info scattered about on the net about it and it is one of the more famous exorcism's. haven't started it yet, I'm going to have a quiet Friday night tonight and get started on it

Something that has never really interested me but my mom went back years and years to when people signed their names with an X because they couldn't read or write. Apparently nearly all of my family is from Birmingham the furthest away that someone is from is Dudley or something like that

well just got back to the office after our meeting **** hell there is about 100 jobs going, I wish I was one of the ones who was getting made redundant the people that make these decisions have absolutely no clue at all what goes on, my job is going to be pretty much unworkable now

Well I have a meeting today at 10am...redundancies are coming my friends,my job is pretty much safe I think but there will be a few pissed off people today. I sometimes think it would be a blessing, I've been there 8 or 9 years now and a few grand would go down well, I'm desperate for a new job so this would just force me into action. I need help, I only use pretty much two websites whilst I am work, this one and goodreads only thing is that for the last two weeks or so goodread's isn't opening properly everything is stacked on the left hand side and the writing is all blue and there is no background, I have tried searching google and what not but that hasn't come up with thing. any of the I.T. geeks got any idea why this could be happening? at this rate I may actually have to start doing a bit of work. p.s. the computer is on windows XP

who are the villa playing this weekend?

yeah I need to devote as much time to books this weekend as well, I am currently 1 book behind on my mission to read 30 books this year (I am half way through two books so I suppose it will all even itself out in the end)

I was bought the entire collection of the soprano's for xmas (despite me saying that I would never watch it even if I did enjoy it) I think I made it 4 episodes into the second series and haven't bothered with it since, it was quite good...I just dont watch all that much telly

We haven't had one of these threads for a while so I thought we may as well bring it back so what are you crazy cats up to this time???? I was all geared up to have a nice boozy Friday with me family tonight (mom, dad, sister, 2 nephews, her fella and my dog) but things have changed now Me mate has invited himself round to mine tomorra so I am going to go over my local tonight and have a few pints and then get home chill out and have a curry and then get my head down at a reasonable hour I was planning on cooking a fat ass curry tomorrow for something to do but now I have company I suppose I will end up sitting in front of the PS3 getting bladdered I was planning on cooking a fat ass sunday dinner for somthing to do but now I will probably be too hung over so I'll probably just sit and die in my own filth and fall into a fit of depression because monday will only be a day away... what an exciting life I lead

I am not really all that bothered about the struggle that the villa are in at the moment, yes I still support them and watch them when I get the chance but even when we get an absolute twatting it doesn't hurt like it used to, I put this down to the fact that I was priced out of the game a fair few years ago. but today....I made the fateful mistake of wearing a villa coat, its not even one that screams out ''I AM WEARING A VILLA COAT'' its just a big green coat with a lion stitched on the front and back. Getting in the lift at work and some **** absolute parasitic arsehole walks in after me with a big **** smile on his face laughing to himself, now I havent ever seen this clown before but thought it was strange that he was laughing to himself in a lift with a complete stranger, I looked at him a if to say ''what the **** has tickled you Mr Chuckles'' and he turned around and said ''sorry I saw your coat as I was getting into the lift and couldn't help but laugh, most people would be hiding away refusing to wear anything villa related, but you...you..you are still flying the flag and praying for a miracle, it just amused me' I explained to him that the coat was keeping me dry and that I would rather that than come accross as the sort who laughs to himself and is in such apparent need to converse with someone that he feels the need to comment on a complete strangers clothes. really ****'s me off, just because I am wearing something football related doesn't mean that I want to speak with every other **** who think's I am interested in their opinion, I'm not interested I couldn't give a ****, I dont want to speak to people I know 90& of the time let alone talk to them about the villa so what the **** makes you think I want to sit down and watch the shit dribble out of your mouth whilst you are handing out tired opinions and recycling bad jokes.

Yeah he has definitely pulled away from him and that has essentially provided him with the excuse to not fight Price. I think you actually said in a previous post that the Thompson fight could work out really well for Price if he manages to get him out of there early on and in style because that would really boost his name when you consider how Thompson got on against Klitch. Isn't David Geale fighting on Friday? I am sure its this weekend he is fighting Mundine...and Kimbo Slice is fighting someone as well so that should be good for a freakshow, its on Boxnation I think.
