  1. We've learned how to pass – we haven't learned how to pass and create chances. It will come.
  2. Could be best appointment since Graham Taylor. Intelligent, pragmatic but tactically flexible with mean streak and good people around him. Atmosphere at first home game will be amazing.
  3. **** it, let's kidnap that little freak Brothers Grimm pixie looking rat **** and install him as boss. TEAM OGS.
  4. The YouTube video posted earlier ( ) talks about his style 11 minutes in. As close to the Man United style as he can get it. Very meticulous in his preparation, not afraid to give bollockings, liked and respected by the players.
  5. A good manager could spend nothing and get this current squad top 10. Not advocating spending nothing but a properly organised defence, well-drilled set pieces, players played in the correct position and a fit Darren Bent would get us another 10-12 points over the course of a season.
  6. "not thought to be interested" is just summing up the prevailing consensus. If the Guardian had more, they'd run with it.
  7. Very much my thinking too. Ellis was a bollocks with limited grasp of the game but he appointed Ron Saunders. If you're well-intentioned and willing to learn, as I believe Lerner is, appointing managers isn't the impossible task we've made it look these last two years.
  8. Statement: "So basically, all that stuff you guys swore would happen? Happened. Sorrrreeeeeeeeee. Randy xxxxx"
  9. It may be inappropriate but at the moment I'm just incredibly angry that this bag of shit was ever here. Still, happy times ahead I hope.
  10. McLeish saying his goodbyes to the #avfc players. In discussing compo. Announcement likely by lunchtime Pete Lansley of The Times on Twitter It's over, fellas. Almost in tears here.
  11. I think witnessing the Bolton game will seal it for Randy Lerner. If that's the case King Carlos did us a solid in strategically mistiming his tackle.
  12. Gary Lineker on Twitter:‏ Thanks all for watching. Most Villa fans disagree with Shearer, which I shall pass on
  13. No way will we be as adventurous as Bolton. 0-0, Given has a blinder.
  14. Is it really a week since Bolton did exactly that to us?
  15. Mark Clattenberg and Daniel Sturridge kept us up. True Villa heroes.
  16. 15-1 on Betfair now. Watch us drift :-) http://beta.betfair.com/football/market?id=1.103211258
  17. Stick a fork in QPR – they are done. The protest goes ahead. This has gone so much better than I thought :-)
  18. 2-0! If Chelsea put 5 up them, I believe we're safe.
  19. Herd was good and we showed some real balls today. The performance was utterly brainless, Gabby was horrific once again, Hutton a liability, central defenders a mixture of sublime and ridiculous, N'Zog tried but just isn't that good a player and never has been. Feel better about our chances of staying up than I did at 2:59 PM. I believe the Chelsea QPR game tomorrow will determine if we start next season in the Premier League.
  20. Villa 5-1 to be relegated before the game, 8-1 afterwards. A good weekend so far but the Chelsea game worries me greatly.
  21. Looking at it coldly, the betting has us at about 13-14% chance of going down. I think that's about right. McLeish is a worthless piece of shit but we played some good stuff tonight and I think we'll (just) stay up.
  22. The atmosphere at Villa Park needs to get a lot more poisonous towards McLeish – they need to know that we're not **** about. There still haven't been persistent chants against him. Make it uncomfortable enough and I'm confident a club statement will come beginning "By mutual agreement..." and the nightmare will be over.
