I've still got hopes for Wigan's demise despite yesterday's result. If Man United play like they did against Reading then Sunderland can definitely take something off them - it would be hilarious if MO'N contrived to relegate them. I think we're playing better than we were this time last season and we've got goals in us. I'm cautiously optimistic.

We no longer have that relegation smell about us any more. You know the one. Sunderland are whiffing of it now. We may regain it of course but I think the last 6 games have all been good performances (with the usual attendant disasters, they just don't seem to be destroying us like they used to).
  3. Dreadful wasn't he - got our formation wrong, started talking about Gabby over clips of Benteke and seemed like he hadn't actually seen the game. I'll forgive him though. Heh. Yeah, me too. Making out that Gabby never scores headers as well? There was a really good analysis waiting to be done on Weimann but presumably he had a quiet game...
  4. Apart from our shitty goal difference you mean Wigan only need another win by any score and we're back in the bottom 3 I mean what I say – it's in our own hands.
  5. **** Newcastle. That's a worse result for Sunderland with their downward momentum. Anyway, we're playing well and it's in our own hands.
  6. God bless you, Newcastle. I'm very sorry we said them bad things that time.
  7. I didn't see anybody calling for that penalty? Those generally don't get given. They've definitely had the rub in this half.
  8. I love Dion but that was piss poor analysis of the game on Match of the Day.
  9. Also, QPR fans seem to hate Trevor Francis more than we do.
  10. We've been horrific, QPR have played very well and are tough to break down. If we get anything out of this then the gods clearly intend us to stay up.
  11. Delph suspension a weird blessing in disguise if Sylla can keep this form up. We have now picked up more points away from Villa Park than at home. What that means for next week: anybody's guess.
  12. Sylla my MOTM - calm, good awareness, lots of running, good blocks and tackles. That's 5 good performances in a row, an away win, a double over Reading. I'm not Bannan's biggest fan but he contributed well to a midfield that held the ball a lot better than we have many times this season. One of the reasons we didn't concede in the 2nd half was because we slowed the game down to treacle at key moments instead of bypassing the midfield as usual. Overall very happy with that. We are now odds against for relegation with the bookmakers.
  13. C'mon MO'N - a signature undeserved victory away from home. You know what to do.
  14. Sylla has made our midfield more composed, less panicky. Good linking play, not afraid to get stuck in.
  15. Sylla seems to be settling well. Gabby is a **** cabbage.
  16. Bannan in for N'Zogbia is a potentially disastrous move.
