  1. Wow. Looked like a totally different team! Brilliant performance. I like the fact that we now have someone in charge (for the time being at least) who isnt afraid to use his subs and put the kids in, and fair play to the lot of em they stepped up to the mark. Very encouraging. Marc Albrighton is going to be some player aswel.
  2. I gotta say i dont like the new kit but maybe it will grow on me eh? avfcgoodie, that is a good effort...like the way the blue fades into the claret. Nice.
  3. Totally agree. I honestly thought that Milner wasn't the sort of lad to get his head turned by money but obviously i was wrong. Especially after the season we had i thought he would stay for at least one maybe two more years to see if we could crack it and win something or qualify for CL. For me this is worse than Barry wanting to go. He gave us most of his career before he pissed off for a final payday, whereas Milner is off at the first sign of it. I can accept that at some point City will be challenging for honours regularly but how often will he get a game up there? I just think its the wrong time for him to go. But hey...fook him. As long as we get a good price we should come out better for it in the long run. Oh and i was thinkin bout changin my avatar anyway... :winkold:
  4. We were after Titus Bramble?!?! Who said this?? Now im scared
  5. Saw a report in the Sun today stating that Citeh are now after Ramires in a 30m deal after the Milner deal had stalled. Good news if true. Does make me laugh how a member of the Brazil squad, and a pretty poor one at that IMO, is suddenly worth 30m just because hes played for Brazil?! Milner is twice the player he is.
  6. Thats the class i used. That charging teleport attack thing NEVER got old!!
  7. Isnt Joe Cole related to Redknapp in some obscure way? I know Lampard is and obviously Jamie Redknapp is but i think Cole is related also. Could be wrong but thats where he'll end up anyway
  8. I gotta say, Kevin Prince Boateng has impressed me loads in this world cup. He showed glimses of it at Pompey towards the end of last season but he looks class in this Ghana team. Is he available? Reakon we should go in for him. Gyan looks a good little player aswel
  9. Yeah he does, surely the big teams are sitting up and taking notice. We should try and get in there first when/if  Japan go out the world cup. Shame we hadnt noticed him earlier to be honest but with our scouting network its not surprising really
  10. Lets just sign John Barnes aswel while were at it, he can play a bit
  11. Yeah what a shit player he was.is. :? Anyway, on a serious note, Villa never do anything positively unexpected/spontaneous, rabbits out of hats etc! Wer're just so predictable and boring sometimes it pains me!!! Not necessarily pointing to Pires, but there are certain deals that could be had which would add an old experienced head to our squad, on frees or dirt cheap, even if they may only make the odd appearance, these types of players are the ones who change games with a late Cameo, or teach the young ones a great deal in every aspect of football! (Once again not really talking about Pires specifically) Of course he was a good player you tart im just saying that he is well and truly past his best and we shouldnt touch him with a barge pole!
  12. Oh come on now were scraping the barrell a little dont ya think?? Robert Pires??
  13. As soon as Bellamy loses his pace he's finished, and considering hes 31 id say that isnt too far away.
  14. How many of those England caps of Defoes were 20 minute cameo appearances? or a first half partnered by some other fringe player only to be subbed due to the pair of them not even knowing each others names? I could count the number of times Defoe has played with Rooney on one thumb
  15. Im not arguing the fact that we need a midfielder who can do something a bit different, but fat lazy strikers who couldnt score in a blind brothel we could definitely do without. Oh and Robbie Keane...10 years ago then yeah, maybe. But he is well and truly past it IMO. We would get one half decent season out of him if were lucky.
  16. Heskey scores 4.7 goals per game?!?! Ive heard it all now :winkold:
  17. Ive been saying this since he was at Charlton. Hes either done something to upset MoN or MoN doesnt know a goalscorer when he sees one. Either way hes dropped a bollock. He rates Agbonlahor just as good and believes Delfouneso can be just as good is my bet. Bent and Agbonlahor or Delfouneso wouldn't play together. I think the thought process is basically, we have Agbonlahor, who is a very good striker, we need someone alongside him first, not someone who will effectively replace him. Im sorry mate but i think a partnership of Bent and Gabby would put the shits up most teams in the Prem. Could possibly be one of the best partnerships in the league I just don't see it personally, I think it can look good on paper but don't think it would gel very well. For example, Rooney works better with Heskey than Defoe. Thats debateable as Defoe has never been given enough chances at International level to show what he can do. But saying that i see what you mean about Defoe and Rooney as neither of them are particularly good in the air. I do think we need to get away from this 'big man - little man' mentality alot of supporters (and seemingly MoN) seem to have. Granted, Bent isnt as much of a physical presence as Carew, but he has got strength, hes got pace, makes good runs, can hold it up and can certainly head a ball, basically hes got everything Carew has and then some. We need a striker who scores goals. Bent is the man IMO.

  20. We were linked with Bradley last summer aswel IIRC. Wasnt he playing for some dutch club at the time? Anyhow, looks a good player and the sort who could do a job for us. The only question is does MoN feel the same.
