  1. In order to have any chance whatsoever of convincing me of this nonsence, do you have any evidence that supports this? Don't know how you could question this, let alone call it nonsense. Holloway's Blackpool performed really well to get promoted and in the Premier League given their budgets/wage bill etc.. They were also one of the most entertaining teams in the league. Compare this to McLeish's performances with a much wealthier set up and Holloway compares very favourably. Nonsense mate. The bottom line is that Blackpool were relegated...the very same feat that mcleish gets lambasted for at every opportunity. The only difference between them is that mcleish won silverware with Brum, Holloway has never won fook all. So how on earth you come to the conclusion that Holloway is somehow better is beyond me.
  2. He is still the best CM we have on our books. The fact that he now plays for somebody else tells ypou everything you need to know about whats wrong with the Villa. Poor, poor descisions made at every turn
  3. Friday cant come soon enough...
  4. I knew you would see sense in the end Rich! :winkold: I played quite alot of this over the weekend. Didnt really have the time before as i was obsessed with Dark Souls but now im finished with that i can see me playing this alot more. The new maps are brilliant, especially the newest one Overwatch. Im like you too Rich, love playing kill confirmed. Really brings a new dimension to the game.
  5. Odd. I thought his departure was down to his health rather than fans pressure. Yeah, nothing at all to do with the constant abuse Constant abuse? Houllier wasn't subject to constant abuse that is an utter fabrication of your mind. Don't confuse people posting on here complaining about him or having a pop at him as being constant abuse, to my knowledge Houllier didn't visit VT. He certainly didn't receive constant abuse during games. I think you will find Houllier's health problems that drove him out of the job owed more to his previous health problems and the stress of the job than it did his standing with the fans. You seriously trying to tell me that Houllier didnt get abuse at games? Bollocks.

  7. Its all a bit cringeworthy isnt it BOF. Its like Carlo Ancelloti all over again...
  8. You do realise that a few of our senior players have the same jumped up attitude as some of those at Chelsea?? Like who? Dunne, Collins, Warnock, Ireland.
  9. The fans never drove him out, he became to I'll to continue. Stu, how can McLeish improve our attacking intent, we have nzog, Ireland, gabby, bent and he still can't get us goals. Forget it he is done at our club. How can missing chances be blamed on the manager? Its not like hes got an Xbox controller in his hand and making them put it wide is it? And you reakon the fans didnt drive Houllier out of here?? Bollocks.

  11. Not according to alot people on here
  12. Cant be no worse than the likes of Harewood, Beye, Shorey, Sidwell, Heskey etc etc etc
  13. If you remember Mantis, i was of the same attitude when Houllier was here. Willing to give him a chance. The fans then drove him out and look what happened next...
  14. Nothing in particular, but sacking him and bringing somebody else in will leave us with the same average squad he had when he left. What we need is a bit of continuity and to be able to give the manager (whoever that is) a bit of time. Im willing to give mcleish another season after hes had the chance to get rid of some of the dross in the squad and replace them with younger hungrier players who actually want to play for Villa.
  15. What you babbling on about?? We played well in the second half and could have easily scored another 2-3 goals. Like i said, we could have easily scored 8 goals on Saturday. How the **** is that 'negative'??? To be fair Stu, we were shite 2nd half. Sitting back on a 0-1 lead?!?!? We played well and had our fair share of chances in the second. Blackburns response to us going a goal up is normal for a home team, they were bound to have spells in the second where we were on the back foot. Thats not Mcleish 'telling' them to be negative, its just the result of the home team looking to get a goal back!!
  16. it does make a difference mentally, because if you have a confident manager that ends up being projected onto the players, e.g. a confident striker is more likely to score than a non-confident one.. So if we had a manager that he players looked up to and had confidence in, they would be performing better I believe, but we do not.. AM does not inspire confidence, which in turn rubs of on the players, hence they will miss more chances.. What...like Villas Boas you mean?? Yeah he did great with that multi million pound squad he had didnt he? Bringing in a manger is no guarantee you will instantly improve, no matter who he is. And looking at some of the shit that could possibly take over (Curbishley??) id rather stick with Mcleish.

  18. Oh so now hes a good player but hasnt been playing well because of mcleish. Unbelievable.
  19. Great finish from him saturday. I find it interesting how people cant wait to jump on his back in this thread when he has a bad game yet when he has a good one nothing is said. That says alot about. People only happy when theyre moaning
  20. I dont see how Mcleish can be blamed for us not taking any of our 8 clear chances on Saturday. Unless this new manager moonlights as a 20 goal a season striker then it makes no difference who is in charge!!
  21. Alan Curbishley? Just as i thought. Nothing to see here. quote]
  22. Of course im not happy but i can see there is clearly a lack of quality in the squad and its not all mcleishs fault. That is all.
  23. Well you mention those 2 games...interstingly enough had we took our chances in those games we would be sitting in top half of the table
