losing every single 50/50 ball, no battle

sinclair has started well, but too many times he runs into dead ends - he actually had veretout to his left in a good position on that last run, but tried to take on two more defenders

hutton put two arms around the shoulders and dragged him down. i assume the ref was just waiting for confirmation from his assistant

a decent start wiped out by another pathetic individual error (and yet again its an experienced premier league player doing it) hutton outmuscled by walcott - disgraceful
  5. agree, although i'm not sure id class yesterdays game as a great chance to win. Obviously I know we were winning with about 20 mins to go, but we had looked fragile all game. People keep going on about southamptons bad form going into the game, yet they are still a good team, and what about our form. We are not exactly brimming with confidence are we? It seems odd to me that the same people who keep reminding us how rubbish our team is (and i generally agree with them), how we were shit and lucky to be in the game yesterday as southamptons finishing was so poor are the same ones doing the most complaining that we only got a point and not all 3. 2-1 up at home to Sunderland, 2-0 up with 20 mins to go away at leicester, 1-0 up at home to swansea (a team in a similar horrendous run of form to us), Watford last week. Those are great chances to win, and the type of blown games that are going to cost us.
  6. newcastle were pretty shit, gave the ball away loads, couldnt get anything going. They benefited hugely from an own goal and a terrible decision from the linesman at the other end. However, every single one of their players scrapped, battled and puts the yards in, and that can get you results when you are stuck down the bottom. Apart from a few exceptions, i don't see our players doing those things.
  7. jammy gits, benteke missed an open goal from 5 yards out earlier. Then that shot was either going wide or an easy save and skertl deflects it in needlessly
  8. 2-1 to liverpool now, great ball in from Emre Can
  9. yep, cant fault his workrate, but his reading of the game and positioning is generally poor. too many times he lets players get across him and get inside position, particularly when balls are played in from the opposite side
  10. Leicester were 7 points from safety in march, and obviously stayed up. Problem is i cant see too many players who have the passion and fight needed to do what Leicester did the 3rd goal yesterday summed it up - bottom of the league, need something out of the game, the ball is hanging in the air above our penalty spot and clark and richardson just stand there while Deeney busts a gut and scores. Too many braineless, soft, lightweight and mentally weak players in our team, and contrary to the medias view, its not necessarily the new players lacking in premier league experience who are the ones displaying these characteristics
  11. only saw the hour highlights on sky, he didn't look great, but didn't look horrendous either. The times he gave it away were when he was trying to do something in the attacking third. Good ball in for micha's goal
  12. palace were shit, too much showboating from bolasie and zaha. they make nzogbia look like a team player
  13. be nice if opposition defences were that obliging to us
  14. quite a few teams struggling at the moment, we need to beat our relegation rivals, starting next week with Watford. However, the most concerning thing is that we look so far away from other in terms of physicality - we are small, constantly outmuscled, and 2 yards slower than pretty much every other team. We don't put the yards in on the pitch (i believe out of all teams we have the lowest distance covered per match by far). poor players in poor form but working hard and coping physically at least give you a chance to scrap out some results.
  15. yeah that 3rd goal was shambolic and the second was embarrassing as well, lukaku was on the floor and still managed to get up and get himself a free header 6 yards out
  16. hard worker, but too many times he lets players get infront of him on balls across from our left, leaving them unmarked 6 yards out. It didnt cost us today due to some good goalkeeping and bit of luck, but its something that has cost us too many goals this season.
  17. hes good on the ball, and most of our good one touch play involved him. worked hard again
  18. sinclair not offering much. Not helping out amavi and running into dead ends when he has the ball
  19. decent first touch and sinclair is in there
  20. I think we are maybe holding back a little in the final third as we dont want to overcommit and get done on the break. But man city are also very organised and solid at the back, so its not that easy to break them down.
  21. let me guess, all the panel saying we should have gone for 'a proper british manager who knows about the premier league', and we need more 'proper british players who know about a relegation scrap'.
  22. such a frustrating player, breaks up play well, good aggression and one of the few players outside the CBs with a bit of physical presence. But then once he wins it he gives it straight back with an awful pass
  23. hamstrung ourselves again by a failure to start our best players
