  1. The potential is world class. Whether he can realise that is another matter.
  2. We know he has it in him, as we have seen it for ourselves. I actually like Dendonker, and I think he should've started last night. With Tielemens you need a disciplined and imposing DM. More of a concern to me is McGinn has just not been in the tough games at all. Newcastle, Liverpool, Palace, and Now Legia, he's been a shadow of himself, chasing shadows all game, as a result. This is our captain!
  3. Castore bid more money, much more! a triple A company, only pay for triple A teams. The Nike Acorns kit for was a beauty, I love it. The shirt I love and hate is the AST / Reebok kit. That shirt got so bloody rough it almost grated off my nipples! But it's also the shirt we wore when we won our last trophy.
  4. Bro regular gym goers come in all form. The missus used to go and spend half her time standing around talking to her friends. Not a bit of sweat! Others smash the cardio machines and spray sweat everywhere. Half the people I see regularly there never seem to improve in any noticable way (and they look very average), but I'm sure their health would suffer if they didn't workout. Having said that I am going to brag a little. I go hard mostly! Some days I just don't have to zip to really go in, but I'm constantly making progress. I've only found consistency in the last couple of years, previously I was very inconsistent and after my daughter was conceived I didn't go for 3 years. I have always been overweight and still am, it's just now I'm less flabby, and have some muscles! My aim is to be a fit pensioner!
  5. That's half the problem. He has high demands of himself and it's clear he know he's under performing and it's frustrating him, and that in turn is leading to rash decisions. He needs to focus on the game and training, and enjoy his football, and he'll come good.
  6. Sorry but as a regular gym goer, how much sweat one gets is down to many factors, intensity of work out, hydration, air temperature, and how much one sweats. Me personally I sweat ALOT! wearing those synthetic fabrics I sweat so much, and it dries so fast (if it's a dri-fit or equivalent) and the stink after just a hour is awful! So I only wear cotton! Only exceptions are my Villa shirts. My cotton tees are soaked after an intense workout, but the dri-fit is only wet in the main sweaty areas (armpits, upper back, and middle chest).
  7. He will het stronger, but I doubt he'd bulk up much (you can get stronger without adding weight). He's been fully grown since 15, hence he already has man strength. I don’t think it would benefit his game to bulk up. He is big enough. Speed and workrate are big parts of his game, extra bulk means less agile, and carrying more weight means its hard work for the muscles to get enough oxygen, so his workrate will be impacted, as well as his speed around the pitch. Benteke at his best was naturally tall and broad, but slim. He never had big muscles.
  8. He already has his man strength. He needs to improve his movement, and keep honing his touch and finishing. He probably needs to work on his right foot, and heading too. If he live up to his potential, he'll be a lot better than Benteke. I think the Drogba comparisons are more accurate than the Benteke ones. However his workrate and pressing is something neither of the aforementioned strikers had.
  9. We really should be able to beat these teams with a rotated squad. Credit to Legia though, they're a decent team. Away at Legia is probably the toughest game we have in this group. The away games in Europe are always tough, and require a really solid disciplined defensive display. This wasn't players y not good enough, it was most of the team not at the races!
  10. The sweaty shirts is down to the fabric. Castore don't seem to have the technology to make a dri-fit (nike) like shirt. Third rate sportswear brand, with a gambling sponsor, I'm embarrassed for anyone that paid money for it! Loyalty shouldn't be blind!
  11. Going away will aways be a struggle until we sort out our defense. Lenglet is slow, I wouldn't want to play him with the high line we operate. I think if we had brought him on against Liverpool it would've been 5 or 6. We really to get Pau up to speed, we really need him playing well. We also need Carlos back, and Moreno in the team. A back four of Moreno, Pau, Carlos, and Konsa is the best defense we can put on the pitch without Mings. We need that defensive line on the pitch, for a run of at least 6 games till our defense can get upto scratch. Shockingly I'd still play one of Lenglet or Chambers for the ECL and League Cup games. They clearly need matches. And we will need them. But both together is asking for it! Our away form isn't too bad. We just need to tighten up at the back, and half those defeats become draws.
  12. Chambers, Digne, McGinn, Kamara, Tielemens all terrible tonight. If you're going to rest players, you should do it properly and rest McGinn as well. First half it was like we were playing with ten men. The guy was invisible, clearly off the pace. Worn out after his efforts for Scotland. If you're going to rest players, don't play Chambers! In fact just don't play Chambers! Ever! Digne was all over the shop, just like his country man Kamara. Tielemens just missed everything, tackles, passes, shots. Struggled to even stand up, has he even heard of balance? Duran should've stayed on, his presence terrified them, Watkins was ineffective. Zaniolo was good, but he can be a bit too clever sometimes. Bailey was lively, unfortunately the got no support, and not one good pass from Chambers. Jj looks hungry. Lenglet was poor, looks slow, didn't try to play much, Konsa took over ball playing duties and it showed. He isn't and ball player. Just really poor all round
  13. McGinn and Kamara were crap though. He definitely got those right.
  14. On Kamara, he just seems wound up all the time, he's been playing rashly this season.
  15. He just doesn't play well when he is playing so often. Played twice for Scotland, then on Saturday, now on Thursday, should have left him in Birmingham.
