I really wonder what has El Ghazi done to not even deserve sub minutes? He has a goal and 3 assists right? That is pretty good all things considered.

Those stats do not sit well with the Bruce philosophy.

    Genuine question.

Are any if you at the point where you'd want Villa to lose games to see Bruce go?

In 2016-17 there was a member of our forum who started a "I hope we lose" thread ahead of our FA Cup game against Fleetwood. On the basis that defeat would have brought Lee Johnson closer to the sack (this was in our long bad run that season).

Despite quite a few people at that time being "LJ out" he was, almost entirely, slated for his comment.

To be honest, I’m always happy when we win.

but, it’s like having a bet on us losing... it takes the pain of the loss away.  I end up thinking ‘oh well, at least he might get sacked now...’

Disagree with this  Taylor is the only true LB. He's looked ok tonight. I think this team needs time to gel now. Would like to see more attack minded wingers. I'd of started al ghazi ahead of Elmo myself.

I can understand the holding midfielder but at home I'd expect to see Hourihane Tuesday as we don't need to be playing a holding midfielder against weaker opposition at home

    you missed my point.

Why sign so many bloody wingers to put them on the bench when he could have sorted the defence out.

I don’t rate these comparisons with other workplaces, as I’ve outlined above.

Finally - I’ve tried to explain my views for over an hour now - I would reiterate my OP. Which had 2 parts.

I don’t expect them to sack him - I don’t think their replacement is there (99%) Or they wanted him - Bruce - and still do (1%)

If they did, I wouldn’t be impressed - because if they did’ make a mistake’, put him on a ‘ work improvement plan’, ‘ wait to talk to football guys ‘ or’ not realise how poor he is’ or whatever, I think thars deeply unimpressive. They should’ve ( and I think did have) candidates in mind from Day 1 ( which would be the day they decided to purchase, not the start of the season).

The only scenario where I think they WOULD sack him, and where it wouldn’t be unimpressive, is if their candidate becomes available.

That won’t be dependent upon what Bruce does, or doesn’t achieve.

I think you're right with this.

They won't sack him until they have a replacement.

But the actual decision to replace him should no longer be up for debate, regardless of the next few results.

they all knew in advance the team that was going to be put out and had a preview of how they were likely to play vs yeovil...i, like you, am neither surprised nor bothered about last night's result

i am astounded at the reaction from last night's game...had he played the 1st team and consequently lost saturday he would have been slated for not resting players. burton have been a championship side last 2 seasons, they're not some non league outfit. we had no divine right to turn up and turn them over with our 2nd string. do you think many leeds fans could give a monkeys about being beaten comfortably at home by a 10 man preston? teams in the championship simply cannot sustain a promotion push and a cup run in the same season...the big guns arrive in the next round, and bruce would have had to play more first teamers if we went up against a chelsea, city, or liverpool as it would do the kids no good whatsoever to get done 5/6/7-0. then what if we lose kodjia, mcginn or jack through injury? it's a cup we have next to zero chance of winning, and given the choice i wouldnt enter it in the first place

    Irrelevant

no one is suggesting that he should have played a strong team.  The problem is that with the team he put out, we should have won. THATs what’s annoying.

its like getting battered by a kid 2 years below you in school, then claiming it’s all good because you could have brought a baseball bat to the fight if you had wanted to.

Is it a worthless competition that no one cares about? Yes it is.

Are we better off for being out the competition? Yes we are

Should the team we put out have lost to Burton Albion, ever? Hell bloody no.

Have a little shame and stop defending this result.

This cup was an opportunity to give our fringe players some valuable game time, and we no longer have this.

The players we put out in the league matches are better than the results suggest.  The players we fielded in the cup game should have done better. There’s a common denominator here.

And you say ‘no divine right’ to turn them over?

I’d hedge a bet that ONE of our starting eleven probably cost more than that entire Burton team.

We've dominated the last two games, okay we didn't win either of them which is a little concerning and highly frustrating but we are actually playing well.

Yh, dominating tonight too I guess.

I don't get why buy a football club if you aren't going to turn up and watch them play. Don't get wrong they are still massively in credit for saving us from administration and enabling us to keep our best players - I am still a tad uneasy about absentee owners though

    Thank god they don't.

If they saw the shit we serve up... they'd sell up shop.
