  1. I had a crappy stop start stream, but I thought he did really well.

even the goal was smashed at him from point blank, so to keep it out initially he did really well.  Made a couple of other cracking saves.

I’ve been critical when he’s deserved it, so credit when it’s due

  2. I can't understand why one is not allowed to have a negative opinion about one performance on here without being ridiculed.

No one is saying that they're writing the keeper off.  It was a poor performance. It was his debut, and yes he may well get better.  But it was a poor performance.  A clean sheet and penalty save doesn't make it a good performance any more than Hourihane's winner makes his performance a good one.

We ALL hope he turns out to be world beater.

IN THIS ONE GAME SO FAR he has made some dodgy decisions and got away with it.  Just saying it how I see it

Looks like a keeper acclimatising to his new surroundings. I don't know what fans were expecting, but it took Johnstone nigh on half a season to string together some decent performances and he's used to English football. Don't expect Moreira to come in and be perfect right away.

The point is we don’t have the luxury of giving half a season to a goalie to ‘acclimatise’.

if a foreign keeper needs to acclimatise, then don’t get a foreign keeper.

No point in sending the keeper you have out on loan then get two keepers who need to ‘feel their way in’ over half a season.

Also the errors made were not acclimatising problems.

    1. He was favourite to get to the ball when their striker went through one on one.  He should have easily got there first and smothered it with his body, but he chickened out, and if not for Tuanzebe’s toe poke, it would have been a goal.

    2. Again a ball into the area, should have jumped and caught it with his knees riding high so that the striker would be too scared to come in for a challenge.  Instead the keeper looked scared of their striker and made a half arsed punch while looking the other way because he was scared.

    3. Simple catch chance at head height, which he parried down to let it bounce before he caught it, again more worried about being smacked into by a striker.

    4. Ran out to intercept a long ball which basically bounced over him.  Our defender was on the way to deal with it.  He had no business running for it.

    5. Watch the replay of the penalty incident. Comes to punch a ball that he hardly jumped for and got nowhere near.

these are not acclimatisation errors. This is poor decision making and quite frankly being scared.

    must do better.

  4. I just didn't see the good performance that other on here seem to have.

He worries me.  Leaps in and jumps for headers that he's already lost, and too slow in making important decisions.  Last season he got robbed dallying on the ball, and this season already he's been outsmarted to a ball that should have been his all day long.

I'm sure he'll prove with experience, but he definitely worries me.

  5. Very poor performance.

I get the whole not playing to his strengths, but when he did get on the ball - he did nothing.

He had a chance to cut it back, and it was a really poor pass.

    He scuffed a good chance.

He never held the ball at all.

Then when he got the chance to do what he's supposedly good at, he got thrashed for pace by that D'Almeida guy.

Not writing him off -just todays performance how I saw it.

Including myself. Nothing wrong with the line-up he threw out there. He gave the players a chance to prove themselves. Probably should have done something tactically at half, but wait and eventually brought on Grealish and Kodjia. This allowed us to play more attacking and retain the ball.

When you put it like that it makes sense.

The football is ugly and we were very lucky tonight. But three wins out of three isn't too bad really.

In the end I'd like a manager that sets a style of play and knows how to create attacking football. For the time being though I'm just pleased we're winning.

    We're lucky to be winning.

    The luck will wear off.

    Then what?

Yea, don't get the criticism of RHM either, what do people expect him to do with this delievery? he's simply not a target man. It would be like only playing through balls when you have Heskey and Crouch up top. A player will struggle to shine if you do not play football that fits their strength. This is garbage football.

(dont understand that after 2,5 years in charge and playing hoofball, how Bruce still has not bought a target man)

Agree about the service, but every time he's had the ball, he's messed up

  9. Not just the kicking... I'm sure he came to claim a ball and jumped right passed it and our central defender had to head it away surprised.

Terrible debut, but it's just one performance.  Let's see what comes in next few games.

  10. Very impressed!

The swerve he gets on the ball when he crosses is excellent.

Every time he crossed it I thought "Too close to the keeper... oh, wait.. what a ball!"

Was it him that crossed it for Kodjia's header that he blazed over?
