This shouldn’t even be up for debate.
Best striker at the club by MILES.

Whelan is a liability.

Davis getting a lot of stick here, but I genuinely thought he doing ok, strong, good touches and lay offs
hard work when your midfield is utter shit and they can’t pass in a straight line

Onomah is terrible every time I see him
hourihane living off the glory of a hat-trick

So you think it was a brilliant move changing a formation that had just won two games on the trot and produced 8 goals?
Bizarelly, he was on TalkSport either the day before or on the day of the game.
The presenters asked him randomly about whether he had considered playing three at the back.
I kid you not, it was almost like he had a Eureka! moment...
lo and behold... we started with three at the back.

we must be the most expensive team ever in the championship.
My God are we awful to watch.

Harsh yellow??
as soon as he kicked it I thought yellow card.
Hogans was worse to be fair.

Just spoke to a Forest season ticket holder at work - said he's a good player but be prepared to be without him every 1 in 5 games. Apparently he gets booked regularly for "being a lippy word removed".
Good work.
now can u go speak to a villa fan about one of our other midfielders, and post your findings here. Ta.

So far, I'd say he 'ok'.
Can't say he's worth the £10m odd that we paid for him.

Brilliant today.
i was very critical of him after the first few shockers, but today he was fantastic.

I'm presuming Bruce is gonna set us up quite old-fashioned, with 'safety first' predictable tactics, and this to me is the biggest worry. Managers with a more modern outlook on football will most likely be able to nullify or outplay us. Furthermore I fear for the development of young, promising talents, such as Gresford, etc.
Also I don't buy into the notion that 'tactics and formations' do not matter. They certainly do, and anyone suggesting otherwise need a reality check.
I don't care how he sets up.
if he wins a few games.

I think more fans would call for Bruce's head if we didn't hit the ground running.
why would anyone want that head?
Unless you were a potato farmer I suppose.

Is he better than Gardner? Yes.
Is he better than Westwood? Yes
Is he better than Jedinak? From what I've seen of him so far... Yes.
That's the reason he should be in the squad. How people can't see the lad has talent is a bit unbelievable to me.
As poor as those three are, was he actually ever better than any of them?
Or is it the same wishful thinking that people had when they were crying about Kozak not being in the team ahead of Gestede - and we all know how that panned out.
I don't remember much of how he played to be quite honest, but from what I do recall - I saw nothing that suggested he was anywhere near the quality that his price-tag suggested.

Kodija, tshibola. This is what happens when you buy the best players from teams that don't want to sell.
elphick, jedinak, De laet. This is what you get when you buy players that can't get into their current sides.
Forget this must have championship experience bullshit, and go buy the best players from teams that we can bully in the transfer market.

Lewis Grabban

Little support, and no service.
When he did get a chance, he did his job right and hit the target.
I don't hold him responsible for his lack of involvement, we had tactics to play to, and those tactics have got us to the final.
I have to say though, when Kodjia did come on.. he seemed infinitely better at getting a hold of the ball, holding off the defender, and just allowing our midfielders to get involved.
A fit Kodjia HAS to start for me if we are planning on a similar tactic in the final, but fit he is not.
Grabban is by far and away the most likely to score out of the rest of our boys up front, so I'd have to go with him to start.
I agree with what someone else said Davies is a better option than Hogan on the bench.
